This is a no AI blog. All of my fics are thought up by me, written on my phone using either the Notes app for iOS (available on the App Store) or the premium version of Notes: Simple iOS Notepad for Android (available on Google Play), emailed to myself, then edited on my computer using Microsoft Word. AI has never been involved with my writing process, nor will it ever be.
Some of my stories explore dark themes. Any potentially triggering content will be listed in the Content Warning at the top of every post on Tumblr and at the start of each chapter on AO3. Please be sure to read the Content Warnings carefully. Your mental health is more important to me than you reading my writing. š¤š
I try to keep everything as gender neutral as possible outside of smut. Smut is always with afab body parts but still gender neutral with they/them pronouns. Readerās and OCās are race neutral, body type neutral and culture neutral. I never describe my Readers/OCs to make it easier to imagine yourself in the story, regardless of race, gender identity or body type. The only time I ever describe clothing is if itās important to the story, but only what it looks like and how it feels, not what it specifically looks like on the Reader/OC.
Important Note About My Adrian Chase Fics:
The fics posted for Adrian Chase/Vigilante back in 2022-2023 are some of my earliest work in fanfiction. I was still getting the hang of writing for a gender neutral and race neutral Reader, so there are a few instances of she/her pronouns used and phrasing that indicates someone of a paler complexion (i.e. blushing). I do plan on re-editing all my fics to make them more inclusive for everyone, I just haven't had the chance to yet, so please bear with me until I get that done. š¤š
Enjoy! š¤š

I rarely ever reblog anything that's not fic or fanart related, but this is a project that is really amazing and is created by amazing people I am honored to call my friends.
The Sixth Sun is an audio series by Coyote Studios that is based on Aztec mythology and is set in modern day Mexico. There are currently five episodes up on YouTube, which I highly recommend checking out, but the goal is to completely bring it to life in a fully animated series. Coyote Studios is teaming up with Viva Calavera Studios to make this happen. The purpose of the Kickstarter linked above is to raise the funding needed to make this goal a reality.
This project was fully created and realized 100% by artists with no AI involved. The artwork was all hand drawn, the scripts hand written, the voices heard are all human voice actors. There will never be any AI used on this project.
So, if you love mythology but are tired of seeing the same Greek and Norse tales retold over and over again, check out The Sixth Sun!

The 11th Street Kids are not your typical pack.Ā
Chris and Emilia, two bonded Alphas that butt heads as much as they care about one another. Ads, John, and Adrian, three Betas who gladly follow their lead, even when things get messy. And you.
Black ops work tends to attract a particular typeāAlphas and Betas. Youāre a bit of an odd one out as an Omega, but youāve determinedly proven yourself capable of the work time and time again. Still, youāve never actually been out in the field. Youāre a medic, and you stay behind at headquarters, ready to help when the team gets back from missions, fixing Emiliaās shoddy emergency-med work that keeps them alive en-route to you.
āThat is not how you pack a fucking bullet wound, Emilia,ā you have said countless times. Or āJesus Christ, how many times, Adrian, have I told you to leave the knife in after you get stabbed?ā Or āWhat kind of drug did you accidentally inhale? If I was in the field with you, maybe I would have seen it and been able to tellāā
And you are itching to get out there and help. Youāve been begging for months. Even if all you do is stay in the van with John, you can do more, be there for the team more effectively, if you are out there in the field with them instead of waiting at the Checkmate office or whatever temporary HQ has been set up for long-distance missions.
Still, Chris and Emilia have been reluctant to let youāas the only Omega of the group, they tend to baby you, maybe a bit too much. But youāve been there through it allāthe butterflies, the alternate universes, standing on the sidelines as quiet, caring support for the others.Ā
Being a good friend to Chris when he desperately needed one, after he got out of prison. Reminding John of his value when heās feeling unimportant. Helping nurse Em back to health after Coverdale Ranch. Standing by Ads when her relationship with Keeya was falling to pieces. Comforting Adrian when Chris made the dumbass decision to fuck off to Nazi land. Welcoming Fleury, Bordeaux, and Judomaster into the pack with open arms and managing everyoneās emotions as the group adjusted to the three new Betas added into the mix.
But youāre more than a caretaker, and youāre ready to prove it.
āI am not a child,ā you insist when Chris tries to bench you, yet again. āI have just as much training as the rest of you. I can handle a gun. I can handle myself. I am a professional, and I am qualified.ā
āWe need you here.ā
āJohn gets to go with you all the time!ā you cry. āHe might be a Beta, but heās a bigger pussy than I am!ā
āHey!ā John protests.
āSorry,ā you mutter, not sounding at all sorry.
āShe deserves to go,ā Adrian cuts in, from a few desks away. āSheās worked just as hard on this as the rest of us. You canāt keep treating her like glass because sheās an Omega. I know you have this weird Alpha need to like, take care of her or whatever, but sheās also more than capable of taking care of herself. She takes care of the rest of us all the time.ā
Youāre grateful to have someone on your side. Adrian is your best friend, and he never lets anyone give you shit for your designation. Youād asked him about it once, and heād said something vague about his shitty Alpha brother and not wanting to be like him.Ā
If he was an Alpha, heād be the perfect one, in your eyes. He never gave a shit about social convention, he understood you better than maybe anyone else in the world. You catch yourself wishing some days that things were different.
Emilia sighs. āItās not that. You know we respect you. You also know that your designation makes you a target.ā
āSo weāll keep an eye on her,ā Adrian says. āSheās not going to go out there alone. If weāre watching her back, and you know we will beāā
āFine!ā Chris says, giving in. āYou can come on the mission tomorrow. But Adrian stays with you the whole time.ā
āGladly,ā Adrian agrees.
āThank you,ā you say delightedly. You hug Adrian, and he laughs.
He hates it when anyone else touches him, butāheās never minded it from you. You smell nice. He takes the opportunity as you wrap your arms around him to quietly tuck his head into your neck and inhale, right where your comforting scent is the strongest. He hopes it lingers, for the rest of the day. On his clothes, on his skin, in his hair.
Adrian might be a little bit in love with you. A lot a bit in love with you, actually. But that doesnāt matter. Heās never had a shot with you anyway. Heās not an Alpha, he canāt give you what you need.
But he can give you this. He can watch your back so you have the chance to go out in the field with the rest of the pack, like youāve always wanted.
āNo problem,ā he says, trying his best to pretend that everything is okay. That it doesnāt kill him a little bit inside when you let go, step back, move back to your desk.
He watches you and swallows hard, and tries really, really hard not to be consumed with irrational jealousy.Ā
Jealous of whatever Alpha, one day, will get to keep you to himself.
Jealous of his alternate self, who he spends every day trying not to think about. Who you will never meet, thank god, becauseāhe was an Alpha. And he would have been able to be with you, in a way Adrian never can be. Maybeāmaybe he was. He had a mark. Right there, high on his neck. Adrian hadnāt been able to stop looking at it, couldnāt help but wonder. The question had been on the tip of his tongue the entire night, but he kept deflectingātalking about Pokemon and cloud-men and shag carpeting, skirting around the question he really wanted to ask, because he was too afraid. Because if it was youāif the only thing keeping him from you is his fucking designationā
He snaps himself out of the thought. Itās never happening, not for him. All he can do is take advantage of the time he has with you now, before some asshole Alpha steals you away to another pack. So he pastes on a smile, saunters up behind you, and taps you playfully on the shoulder.
āBetter go practice your aim,ā he teases. āMake sure youāre 100% field readyāā
āOh, fuck you,ā you laugh, but you start walking in the direction of the weapons room anyway. āCome with me?ā
He follows you with a smile on his face. He always will.
Everything goes sideways fast. Your informant fucked you all over. Itās an ambush.
Adrian has heard pained or panicked shouts from everyoneāChris, Harcourt, Ads, Economos. He ignores them all, because he was given a prerogative from his Alphas. To protect you.Ā
āStay here,ā he tells you, hands on your shoulders, pushing you behind him, away from the danger. āStay here, stay low, stay behind me. Do you hear me?ā You nod, eyes wide as you look up into his visor.
āOkay,ā you agree, cocking your gun. āIāll do what I can from a distanceāā
āNo, donāt waste your ammo,ā Adrian says. He hands you his guns, instead, and draws his machete. āIn caseāif they get closer, you need to defenāā
āI got it,ā you assure him, accepting the weapons. āGo, Ade, Iāll be okay.ā
So he stays focused, takes out as many attackers as he can, slashes out with his machete, chopping off limbs, sending blood spraying through the air while you shoot from higher ground, just behind him. He doesnāt stray far, keeping you in earshot, no more than a quick sprint out of reach.
Thereās some part of him that feels sickly satisfied, like he always does, as the bodies hit the ground. There are dozens of them. Far too many. Whoever sent them here is going to die, he decides. Whoever put his pack at risk like this, whoever put you at risk like this.
Even still, this is what heās good at. The killing. Itās what he enjoys. Heās smiling under his Vigilante mask as he looks at one of the last assholes in his vicinity and slashes out. The guy gets off a couple shots, but they fly wide, missing him. Adrian laughs as he shoves his blade through the guyās neck.
Adrian looks back at you to check in, to crack a joke about how of course your first field mission goes right off the rails, andāyouāre not where youāre supposed to be. Youāre not where he left you. His eyes dart around frantically until they land on you, and he breathes a sigh of relief, but the feeling only lasts a moment. You look at him, in that split second, frozen with shock.Ā
Then he sees the blood soaking through your uniform. He watches you go pale, a hand pressed a wound heās too far away to see clearly, and you hit the ground. His blood runs cold. He can smell your blood on the airāyour scent, familiar, but also wrong. Tinged salty and metallic, thick, like he can taste it on his tongue.
The transformation happens in an instant.Ā
Adrian goes fucking ballistic.Ā
Something takes over him. Something vicious, and aggressive, and panicked, and he yells your name, but you donāt answer him. Two more people try to corner Adrian, and he doesnāt even bother with a weapon. He just snaps their necks. Then he races to you, bolts as fast as he can, his heart pounding harder than it ever has.
His vision is already tinged red by the Vigilante visor, but it goes even redder with rage when he sees you slumped on the ground, lifeless. His knees hit the ground beside you, and he rips his mask off. It feels hard to breathe in it, suddenly, as he looks down at you, strangled by the strongest fear heās ever felt. His hands reach frantically for your face, and he says your name over and over again, interspersed with pleas, as he tugs you into his lap.
No, he thinks, he shouldnāt be moving you. He needs a medic, he needs you, butāhe curses. Goddamnit, fuck, what would you tell him to do, what have you trained him to do when the others get shotā
āPut pressure on it,ā he tells himself out loud, but even as he does it, his voice is shaking, his hands are shaking, because he never, ever, thought he would have to use this knowledge on you. āGod, please, wake up, look at me, pleaseāā
āAdrian,ā says a voice behind him, and he turns and bares his teeth, brandishing his machete defensively.
āItās me!ā Emilia says, holding her hands up. āItās me!ā
Somewhere in the back of his mind, Adrian logically knowsāitās Harcourt. Harcourt isnāt going to hurt you. But even as he lowers his weapon, something feels bad. Wrong. And when she reaches for you, to assess your injuriesā
āDonāt fucking touch her,ā Adrian snarls, gloved fingers digging into your skin, shielding you from the threat that his body is telling him is right there.
āWhat?ā Emilia says, completely caught off guard.
Adrian turns back to you, tense with fear and worry. His hands press harder against the places youāre bleeding fromāyour shoulder, your side near your ribs, trying desperately to stop the flow of blood even as it soaks into his gloves. āCome on, wake up, look at meāā
You blink awake only briefly, your eyes unfocused, but you say his name, very softly, and your weak fingers clutch at the buckles on the front of his uniform. The possessive feeling roars back up Adrianās throat times a thousand, drowning out everything else. All he knows is protect and need and mine.
āTheyāre all dead,ā Chris says behind him, breathless, and Adrian tenses up again without knowing why. āI think Johnās arm is fucked up, we need her to set itāā Then Chrisās eyes land on you. āOh, fuckāshe doesnāt look good, we gotta get her out of hereāā
Adrian sees Chrisās arms reach for you, and he growls, something deep and primal and uncontrollable. A sound he has never made. A sound he shouldnāt be able to make. Chris freezes, bristles, looks at Adrian.
āWhat the fuck was that?ā Chris says, more confused than angered by the intensity emanating off of Adrian in waves.
Then Chris takes in the whole scene. The way Adrianās clutch on you is so tight it might leave bruises. The way he hunches over you protectively. The way he snarls when Chris looks at you for a moment too long.
Chris pauses. He inhales. His eyes go wide, and he takes a giant step back.
āHoly fucking shit,ā he says. āAdrianāā
āWhoa, what the fuck is going on?ā Ads says, confused as hell. John stumbles up behind her, also looking confused, nursing a wound of his own on his arm. They both look worried when they see you unconscious on the ground.
āYou smell it?ā Chris asks Emilia, and her brow furrows. She sniffs the air, and her mouth falls open.
āHoly shit,ā she whispers. āOh my god. Is heāā
āAds, I need you to run to the van and get me a tranq dart,ā Chris says, voice low. āNow.ā She does as he asks without asking any questions.
āAdrian,ā Emilia says softly, trying again to approach, even slower, calmer. āI need you to let me look at her injuries. Iām not going to hurt her.ā She pauses and thinks, tries to rephrase into the particular words he needs to hear right now. āIām not going to take her from you.ā
But itās no use. Heās too far gone for logic. When Emilia reaches forward, he panics.
āNo,ā Adrian says desperately. āNo, noāsheās mineāā
His eyes are wild, unfocused, filled with such animal fear and rage and need that itās clouding every other feeling. Heās vibrating, shaking, breathing hot and heavy, on the verge of falling over entirely into animal instinct, of going completely feral.
āPlease, let me helpāā Emilia says, trying to gentle her voice and approach again slowly, and Adrian snaps.
āGet the fuck away from her!ā he shouts. āDonātāā
As soon as Ads returns and hands Chris the tranquilizer gun, he shoots. The dart hits Adrian right in the neck, and everything goes dark.
When you wake up, blinking blearily, Adebayoās face comes into your field of vision. When you turn your head to the side, Emilia is sitting at your bedside, holding your hand.
āHey,ā she says, sounding a little relieved. āWe were worried about you.ā
āWhatāā
āYou got shot. Like, three times,ā Emilia says. You look around. Youāre in the Checkmate infirmary, hooked up to a couple IVs. Blood, some other fluids. There are a few dull aches in your side, your shoulder, but they donāt hurt nearly as bad as they should. They must have given you the good painkillers.
Your brain still feels a little foggy, though. You try to remember what happened, and it comes back in snapshots. The ambush. The pain. Adrian shouting for you.
Clarity washes over you in an instant, and you sit up in bed, wincing as the movement irritates your injuries in a way even the painkillers canāt mask. āFuckāā
āWhat is it, what do you need?ā Emilia asks. āStay down, Iāll get itāā
āAdrian,ā you say. You donāt know why, but something inside you wants him, right now, more than anything or anyone else. āWhere is Adrian? He wasāā
Emilia and Adebayo exchange a look. You glance between them worriedly.
āIs he okay?ā you ask, almost afraid to hear the answer, your heart sinking. You got hurt, you werenāt there to take care of him if he got hurt.Ā
āHeās going to be,ā Emilia says. āHeāsā¦sick.ā
You frown, unimpressed. āBullshit. Stop fucking lying to my face, please. Adrian has a healing factor. He doesnāt get sick.ā
Adebayo sighs. āSheās gonna find out eventually, Em. Thereās no point.ā
āFind out what?ā you demand, starting to get panicky. āIf thereās something wrong with Adrian, I want to know, and I want to know now. Heās my best friend, if something happened to himāitās my fucking job to take care of the pack, and heāā
āWhile you were unconscious,ā Emilia says, āsomethingā¦unexpected happened.ā
āStop being cryptic and just fucking tell me.ā
āAdrian presented,ā Ads interrupts, ripping the bandaid off. You jerk back from her like youāve been slapped.
āAdrianā¦presented?ā you say slowly, your heart pounding against your chest, a pit of dread forming in your stomach. āWhat do youāā
āHeās spent his entire life thinking heās a Beta,ā Emilia says. āHell. We all thought he was a Beta.ā
āWhat do you mean? Heās not?ā
āNot anymore,ā Ads says. āHeās an Alpha.ā
You look between the two women in front of you again and let the information sink in. You lay back against the pillows slowly, fidgeting with the edge of the bedsheet nervously. Because this is the kind of thing that could change everything. And the fact that theyāre so reluctant to tell you the whole story tells you that it already has.
āAdrian is an Alpha,ā you repeat, your voice barely more than a whisper.
āJohn and I looked into it. Delayed presentation affects less than 1% of the population,ā Adebayo continues. āItās incredibly rare. Usually triggered by the presence of a compatible genetic mate, or a traumatic circumstance.ā
Compatible genetic mate. Traumatic circumstance.
āTraumatic circumstance,ā you say, a little frantic. āDid heāis he hurtāā
āHeās not hurt,ā Emilia says. āAll of us got a little banged up. You got the worst of it. When it was over, by the time we got to you, he was freaking the fuck out, radiating Alpha pheromones in waves like I have never seen.ā
āYouāre telling me Adrianās life changed overnight because I got shot? Not because of his own traumatic injury, but because of mine?ā
The girls are quiet.
āItās probably more complicated than that,ā Ads says softly. āIt might beā¦a little bit of the other thing, too. Thatās what me and John are theorizing, anyway. He saidāwhile you were unconscious, he saidāyou were his.ā
A compatible genetic mate. You swallow as you absorb the implication of her words.
āIs he?ā you ask, afraid to raise your voice. Afraid to hope. To make it real. āIs he mine, Em?ā
āListenāā Emilia starts.
āIs he mine, Em?ā you repeat, your throat tight. āIs Adrian my Alpha?ā
Emilia stares at you.
āI think so,ā she says softly. āThatās what triggered it. You were hurt, and youāre his, and something inside him recognized that you needed him. He wasāhe was a mess. He probably still is. When you got hurt, if Chris wasnāt there to keep him in check, bring him back from the brink, he might have gone feral. As it is, we had to tranquilize him so I could treat your injuries. He wouldnāt let either of us get anywhere near you.ā
Youāre quiet for a minute, feeling strangely guilty. That youāre the cause of all this trouble, throwing the pack dynamics out of whack. But thereās no going back, now, and thereās some part of you that hopesāmaybe this is a good thing. Maybe this is the best thing. Because havenāt you thought a million times that youād wished Adrian was an Alpha? That he could be yours?
If Adrian is yours, thoughāwhy isnāt he here? Does he not want you in return? But then you thinkāif Adrian just presented, for the first timeā
āHeās in rut, isnāt he?ā you whisper worriedly.
āHe is,ā Emilia says hesitantly, like she doesnāt want to admit it.
It hurts you, a terrible pang in your stomach, to think about Adrian suffering, confused, alone.
āI want to see him.ā
āYou are in no condition,ā Emilia says, āto be near an Alpha going through his first ever rut. Adrian needs time to adjust to his new reality. Introducing an Omega into the equation when heās already volatile is not a good idea. And you are hurt. You need to heal.ā
āHe needs me,ā you say, your throat tight. You think you might cry. āIf itās true, if heās mine. I need to be there for him.ā
āChris is with him,ā Ads says, reaching for your hand and squeezing. āAdrian will be okay, butāheās wild and unpredictable right now. You got shot. Multiple times. If you went over there, and he ended up hurting you worse, imagine how guilty he would feel.ā
āHe would never hurt me,ā you say, and you know, in your heart, that itās true.
āYou can believe that all you want. Iām not willing to risk it. After heāsā¦over the hill,ā Emilia says, āthen you can see him.āĀ
Itās firm. Itās final. Andāshe is your pack Alpha. What she says goes.
āCan I at least talk to him?ā you ask, quiet and nervous. āPlease?ā
āLet me talk to Chris,ā Emilia says. āSee how heās doing. And then maybe we can arrange that. For now, you focus on getting better. You scared the shit out of us. All of us. So let us take care of you, okay?ā
You nod, and she squeezes your hand. But you bite your lip and think about how the one person who you really wish was here to take care of you is the one youāre not allowed to see right now.
When Adrian wakes up, heās sweating buckets, half-naked, strapped down to a mattress inā¦he looks around. Chrisās old trailer? Thereās a sharp, stabbing pain in his gut, and his head is pounding, and god, why is everything so bright and loud?
āWhat the fuck,ā he pants.
āYouāre awake,ā Chris says. āGood. Sorry I had to tranq you, bro, but you were acting a little crazy.ā
āYouāwhat?ā Adrian says, bewildered, still a little out of it, trying to blink away the haze of whatever Chris apparently drugged him with.
Then, in a flash of clarity, he remembers what happened. He remembers you, bleeding out in his arms, and the pain in his gut intensifies tenfold, and just the thought of you makes him crazy with want. He needs you. He doesnāt know why, but he does. Instantly, he starts pulling at the restraints.
āWhere is she Chris get me the fuck out of here I am not fucking around I will fucking kill you I need her is she hurtāā
āCalm down,ā Chris says in his Alpha command voice. Then he remembers it wonāt work now. He softens his voice and tries again. āHey, calm down, Adrian. Sheās okay. I promise you, sheās okay.ā
Adrian looks at him, still squirming, but present enough to be puzzled, because Chrisās command did not do a damn thing. And a little bit pissed, because he hates it when his best friend uses his Alpha voice on him, like heās a fucking kindergartender.
āWhere is she?ā Adrian repeats, low and growling, a command of his own, fueled by the extra power of his recent presentation, the lingering feral energy he canāt contain, andāit works. It shouldnāt, but it works.
āSheās with Emilia and Ads, at her apartment,ā Chris says, the words spilling out of him like he canāt stop them. His eyes are wide, his mouth dangling open. āDid you just fuckingāuse your Alpha voice on me?ā
Adrian pauses tugging at his restraints to look at Chris like heās insane. Because he is. āUse my what? Iādude, why the fuck am I tied to the bed? Why did you bring me here?ā
āBecause youāre in rut,ā Chris snaps. āAnd I donāt trust you not to go chasing after her. You are out of control right now. And I brought you here because I figured you wouldnāt want your mom around for this.ā
Adrian flushes a furious red color. āI am not in rut. Iām a Beta. You know I am.ā
āI thought I did,ā Chris says. āI believe you thought that too. And then yesterday happened. And you are in rut, and you are an Alpha.ā
āIām not a fucking Alpha!ā
āIt happens,ā Chris says. āPeople present late in life.ā
āI am thirty-four! I would knowāā
But even as he says it, he cuts himself off. Because he remembersāhis alternate self was an Alpha. So maybe, just maybe, he is too. He just didnāt know.
And selfishly, he thinksā¦maybe, just maybe, this is his chance. To have you. To love you, the way heās always wanted.
āYouāve always been a late bloomer, Thimble.ā
āOh, fuck you,ā Adrian says, but he swallows roughly. At least, he tries to. His mouth is too dry. āCan you fucking untie me please? God, Iām so fucking thirsty. And itchy, and uncomfortable, and horny, Jesus Christāā
āYeah,ā Chris says. āBecause youāre in rut, Adrian. Your first one. Historically, the worst one you will ever experience. So if I untie you, you have to promise me that you will not run after her. I will tranquilize you again. I know you want her. Hell, she probably wants you. But sheās hurt. Sheās in no shape to help you through this.ā
āYou said she was okay,ā Adrian says, panicky. āHowāhow bad is it?ā His breath feels short, his hands are shaking. A terrible, awful guilt sinks in his stomach, adding to the pile of a dozen other terrible sensations heās feeling right now. āItāsāitās my fault, I was supposed to protect her. I convinced you to let her go on the mission in the first place. Fuck, Chris, is she okay I need her pleaseāā
āFuck,ā Chris mutters. āI wanted you to be in better shape beforeābutāgoddamnit.ā He pulls out his phone and dials while Adrian practically hyperventilates in front of him, trying desperately to yank himself out of the ties holding him down. He tries to bite at the ropes with his teeth, the muscles in his neck straining, but he canāt reach them.
āEmilia,ā Chris says. āPut her on the phone.ā A pause. āYeah. I know we said we were gonna wait. But heās freaking the fuck out. He needs to talk to her.ā
āPlease,ā Adrian says. He tries to get up, but heās still tied down. āPlease, please, I needāā
Chris puts the phone on speaker.
āAdrian?ā Your voice rings through the room, and Adrian whimpers audibly at the sound. He closes his eyes and throws his head back roughly against the pillows, trying to take a few settling breaths. Youāre alive. Youāre well enough to talk to him, at least.Ā
It should make him feel better, but it sends another bolt of agony through him. God, heās so fucking hard. He wants you so bad. He wants to scent you, he wants to fuck you, he wants, he wants, he wants.
āIf I untie you, are you gonna flip?ā Chris asks him. Adrian takes a deep breath.
āNo,ā he says, chest heaving. āPlease, just let me talk to her, Chris. Please.ā
āYou have him tied up?ā you cry. āHeās not a fucking animal, Chris!ā
āHe was borderline,ā Chris says seriously. āYou were unconscious. You didnāt see how close to feral he got.ā
āUntie him,ā you demand, and Adrianās heart skips a beat, hearing you so fiercely defending him.
Chris cuts the ropes, and Adrian instantly reaches for the phone.
āNo funny business,ā Chris orders, holding it just out of reach, and Adrian starts begging.
āPlease give me the phone please let me talk to her please Chris I promise I wonāt do anything I just need to talk to herāā
Chris tosses him the phone. Adrian snatches it out of the air, takes the call off speaker, and brings it right up to his ear. When he says your name, itās shaky, nervous, but also a little bit relieved.
āAdrian,ā you say, and half the tension leaves his body, just hearing you say his name, all soft and concerned. Then it roars back as another bolt of pain shoots through him, becauseāgod, he wants you so bad, and he canāt have you right now. A pained noise escapes him, and you must hear it, because you ask worriedly, āTalk to me, Adrian, are you okay?ā
āAm Iāā He cuts himself off and laughs humorlessly, hissing through the pain. āAm I okay? Youāyou got shot. I saw you go down, you wereāyou were bleeding out in my arms. Are you okay?ā
āIām okay,ā you assure him. āAll patched up, at least. It hurts like a bitch. But I can take painkillers for that. Youā¦you canāt. If what theyāre saying is true. Are you reallyā¦ā
Adrian rubs a hand over his face, wiping the sweat from his brow. God, heās so hot, but even as he thinks it, he shivers.
āI donāt know whatās happening,ā he says. His voice is hoarse, and he feels like he might cry, heās so overwhelmed. āIt hurts.ā
āWhatās happening is your body wants you to find something to knot and breed,ā Chris says bluntly. āSo your sex drive is through the roof. For the next four days, at least, youāre going to be an irritable, horny asshole, and probably feel generally like shit. Itās gonna suck ass, because you donāt have an Omega or a bonded partner to help you through it. Headaches, feverish, dehydrated, oversensitive. DAY 4 - SCENTMATES/SOULMATES
He didn't know.
He didn't know why it was you. Why you were the only one he got hard in his pants for, even when he just thought of you. You're not an Omega. You are a fucking Beta, and all he could think about was you.
Billy Hargrove wasn't supposed to like you. There were many crusades between the two of you before he presented back in high school. You left before he did, graduated in some stupid private school your daddy paid for.
In the time you were gone, Billy wasn't all that great himself, and he didn't understand why. He wasn't as angry, just more docile. He wanted to change. He took full custody of Max the moment he turned 21. Susan wasn't the best mother, so it was obvious he didn't want Max to end up like him.
He opened his own detailing shop, and even in the middle of nowhere, Hawkins, people spread the word of how good he was at his job. He got good money, he got Omegas flaunting at him like he was the light in a flock of moths.
But then you just had to return.
You were the sole reason he wasn't that much into Omegas. He despised you for it. He hated the moment you entered his shop, surprised to see him there, acting all nice, as if your past with him didn't happen. They weren't big fights, but he just felt like messing with you. Pulling your shirt, your collar, and you didn't hold back. You kicked him, called him names, and even dared to pull on a strand of his hair once in class.
And yet, you were the only one he couldn't get mad at.
Even after all of it, he was happy to be close to you in some way. Even if it wasn't ideal, he couldn't help feeling delighted at the end of the day, back at his house, looking at his ceiling, and picturing your smile directed his way.
He didn't understand how a Beta could drive him mad like that. He didn't understand a single thing. He thought that by now, he would have found a nice little Omega, or someone who would turn his world upside down, but it didn't. Not when he remembered you, not when you returned, and he could smell you once again.
"Look what the cat dragged in." He said as soon as he saw you, his nostrils flaring as he drank you in. Your voice, your body, your movements⦠God, he had missed you.
"It was obvious that by the name, you would be the owner." You responded with a cheeky smile, something that sent shivers all over his spine. 'Camaro Detailing' was not a bright name, but he loved his car, so he might as well name his shop after the baby he took care of the most, just like he wanted to do with other cars.
He was surprised to see you with a Camaro yourself, in impeccable state, almost to the point that it probably didn't need any detailing at all. He looked inside the driver's seat, checking how it looked, and you just had to get close to him. You just had to put your face right next to him to inspect as well.
"The radio buttons are a little smudged from wear. Then, I would like just a complete clean up for the car. Seats out and all."
And fuck, you smelled delightful. Was it a perfume you always used? Why was it so different than anyone else's? Why the fuck were you so close? He couldn't process a single thought because all he wanted was to turn his head to take what was his, once and for all.
But you weren't. So he pulled away, almost as if he had been burnt, and you followed him, almost looking like a kicked puppy. Why were you looking at him like that? He raised his hands, clearing his throat.
"Um, I am a little booked myself, but I can have Munson do the detailingā"
"But! People said you were the best, so I hoped⦠Is it because of our past?" You asked, and he could feel his chest about to explode.
"Huh? You were a pain in my ass for sure, but this is still work, and I'm getting paid for it." You were playing with your fingers, and he noticed in your scent the twinge of nervousness. A thing he always smelled on you every now and then back in high school. He never knew why. Was it him? Were you scared of him?
"Oh⦠Okay, then⦠I can just be put on a waitlist, perhaps?" Your voice sounded hopeful, and maybe you were just that desperate to have him detail your car based on reviews⦠But something inside of him, something primal, was telling him to just take what was his. What it wanted. What it had always wanted.
Maybe then, he would be finally free from you. This was an opportunity, because you looked⦠like you wanted to be caught.
"MUNSON!" You were startled by Billy's voice, jumping at the sound, and then you saw Eddie Munson peeking out from a door, maybe the staff room?
"Why the yelling, Hargroveā"
"You're done for the day. Go home." He could sense your nervousness, seeing how you shyly waved at Eddie. He walked over to the two of you, his eyes widening in recognition.
"Haven't seen you around here for years!" Eddie used to be your dealer back in high school, and he always remembered his clients. He also felt comfortable with you, since Betas are known to stick together at tough times.
"Did you hear me?" Billy's chest rumbled with a growl, and Eddie knew to back off immediately. He didn't understand his friend's sudden change of humor, but he wasn't gonna question it. Not today.
"Yes, boss." You stood there, fumbling with your fingers, and Billy's eyes never looked away, not for a single second. His patience was running short, and he was cursing at Eddie the more he delayed himself getting stuff from his locker.
"Munson!" Billy yelled even louder, and Eddie ran out from the staff room, waving a simple goodbye your way before rushing outside the shop. Finally, Billy broke line of sight with you, walking over to the buttons next to the big gate, punching the red one to close it. The metal wall started rolling down as he walked to the side door, locking it in place.
"Um⦠Billyā" He didn't look at you as he walked through the cars, moving towards his office way in the back. You licked your lips, knowing you had to follow him. He was waiting by the door, his blue eyes glaring your way as he held it open. Once you stepped in, he slammed it shut, startling you. He walked to his desk, crossing his arms over his chest as he pressed his backside against it for support.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" He saw you gulp, shaking your head.
"I just⦠got recommendations, and I didn't knowā I didn't know you were the ownerā"
"Bullshit. I could smell your lie a fucking mile away. You knew it was my shop, and instead of going to a detailing place in yourā Whatever town you moved to, you came back to Hawkins. Why?" His voice was rough, his nostrils flaring as your scent invaded the entirety of the room. You were almost trembling, looking down at the floor.
"I didn't like any of the places back in Chicagoā¦" And he had to hold himself back as he could smell your deception again.
"Stop lying to me. I don't know why you are here, because as far as I can remember, we weren't best friends in high school." That felt like a punch to his gut, but he had to be honest about it. You two weren't. He saw you flinch a bit, as if you had been caught hiding candy behind your back.
"Well, we could always start overā¦" Your voice was small, and his patience was running thin. He had you, alone, for the first time in his life. He had you in a room, his office, and he knew your scent was going to stick to the walls like black mold. He would have to rip the entire shop down to take it off. He said your surname, tired of this, tired of you.
"I won't detail your car, so go backā" Your head snapped up, and his eyes widened seeing tears streaming down your face.
"I won't." He squinted his eyes, your scent turning into something he smelled before, but could not pinpoint exactly what it was.
"What the hell do you want from me!?" He didn't want to yell at you, but he was at his limit. If you didn't leave, he was going to do something he would regret, and he didn't want to do it when he knew you disliked him. When he knew he wasn't your favorite person back in high school. You sniffled, licking your lips, gulping as you mustered your courage.
"I⦠Fuck, I might lose my goddamn dignity because it was never supposed to happen, andā" You were rambling, and his anger seemed to fade away somewhat. He felt the fire in his body calm down slightly, as worry started settling in from seeing you so nervous. He wanted you, of course, but he also wanted to protect you. To keep you safe.
"What do you mean by dignity?" He saw your bottom lip wobble, and you finally met his eyes.
"There's a reason why I left. Why Iā Why I couldn't stay hereā¦" Fuck⦠oh, no. You were surprised when you saw his face change into one of sadness. His eyebrows fell, his eyes looked lost.
"Was I the reason? Did I⦠bother you so much you couldn't handle it? Did I do something unforgivable that I didn't know about?" He asked, blaming himself entirely. You took a step forward, desperation written all over your face as you shook your head.
"No! No⦠I mean⦠I did leave because of you⦠But it wasn't because you hurt me or anything like that!" You confessed, and he had never been more confused in his life.
"But I didn't do anything wrong?" You huffed, sniffling.
"I⦠As a Beta, my sense of smell is not the same as an Omega, or an Alpha⦠But with youā¦" And his heart stopped as you continued, "I could smell your scent a mile awayā¦"
His entire body was engulfed in a cold sweat, not believing what was coming out of your mouth. His scent? You could smell him as a Beta? He was speechless as he tried to make sense of your words.
"My⦠scent?" You nodded at his question, looking away as embarrassment ran all over your body.
"It's addicting⦠Like a campfire in the middle of a muddy forest, and a twinge of new leatherā¦" You closed your eyes, your nostrils flaring this time, and his arms dropped to his sides, stunned at your confession, "I could smell you, even before you presented, and then you did, and it was just⦠maddening."
He didn't know what to say. He was speechless, and he was sure that his heart stopped beating. He couldn't even breathe, or smell, or anything. This stopped time, the world, the galaxy, the universe itself. You experienced the same things he did. You were telling him right now that you could smell him even if your designation should not have been able to do so.
"⦠Madenningā¦" He whispered, as if that word was a figment of his imagination, trying to make sure that you actually said it. Your eyes were filled with unshed tears as you looked up at him. You nodded, almost pouting from the knot that came up your throat.
"Yes⦠And when you bothered me, I would be so happy⦠I bothered you back, and I touched you any time I could to see if your scent would stick to me⦠And then I would go home and cry because it did⦠It fucking did, and I knew that I could never have youā¦"
And that was something he really was not expecting. Not today, not tomorrow, not in the years to come.
"Never⦠have me?" You nodded, looking back down.
"What chance do I have? You are an Alpha⦠I'm a Beta⦠And even though I can smell you, even right nowā I don't have the ability to know what you're feeling. I can't smell the way Omegas and Alphas do, and that made me realize that if I didn't leaveā" You choked on your own words, looking away so he wouldn't see the tears that were streaming down your face. "Fuck, I would not have been able to see you with an Omega around your arm, so I leftā¦"
And the room fell silent.
You smelled him, not looking at him at all. You couldn't guess what he was feeling, or what his emotions were at this very moment. You knew that he could guess by your scent, and you knew that saying this now wouldn't change a thing. This was just something you had to get off your chest, because you fucking knew there was never going to be anyone else but him. No one else compares to him.
But your face was suddenly held by two strong hands, making you look up to gleaming blue eyes that were looking down at you as if you held the stars above his head every single night.
"You⦠have no ideaā¦" Your eyebrows twitched in confusion as he stared at you, "Your scent is the only one I craved⦠The only one that I remember, no matter how many days or years passā¦"
Your eyes lit up, his thumbs caressing your cheeks to dry away the tears that had fallen. You felt choked up, opening your mouth to talk, but then he pulled you in, his nose dipping instantly in the crook of your neck and shoulder, taking a long breath of your scent in. His body trembled with delight, a purr, something uncommon for Alphas to do, rumbled within his chest.
You immediately melted into him, his scent invading you all over, your nose following his steps, taking a sniff of his neck. You couldn't help the moan escaping you, your body relaxing into him, into his arms as he wrapped them around you, holding you close.
"Fuckā¦" He muttered into your skin, his lips placing a kiss that made you shake into his embrace. He pulled his face away to look down at you. You were breathing heavily, gulping with nerves and happiness, not really knowing how to digest all of this.
"Billy⦠I'm not an Omega, howā"
"I don't know, I don't know, but I'll be fucking damned if I let you go again. You're mine. Always have been⦠We'll get to know each other, but I just know I won't ever let you leave." You nodded as you tried to hold back tears, smiling up at him.
"Okayā¦" And he knew the moment he would kiss you, he would be completely gone. He leaned down, his lips coming into contact with you, and you two would figure it out, but he knew there was not gonna be a single Omega that could take him away from you.
Plot: Steve had always been a lot to take... And when he presents as an Alpha, even if intimidating, you want it. You crave it. And you will adjust no matter what.

DAY 3 - SIZE DIFFERENCE
Steve has always been big.
You've been together since High School back in Hawkins. You have moved out with him as soon as you both graduated, because you both wanted to leave your parents behind. Everyone was sad you two left, especially Robin and Dustin, but they understood, and you two were also not far away.
But the problem appeared a month into living with him. When you hadn't presented at sixteen, you assumed you were a Beta, same process with Steve. You were so happy that you two got to share the same designation, because that meant that you would live in harmony, without the fear of instincts driving you wild.
And then, you presented.
It was a Thursday afternoon. You had been suffering a fever for a week, coughing, and sweating like crazy. You hadn't noticed how many times you had pressed your nose into Steve's clothing before washing them, pretending it was because you wanted to check if they were dirty or not. That's what you thought.
Steve found you, alarmed without knowing what to do. He wasn't prepared for it, and he tried to please you as best as he possibly could, but you desired more. For a week after your heat, he was depressed, thinking you would leave him. But you didn't. Your love for him was bigger than any instinct you had as an Omega.
The chances of Omegas staying with Betas were little, but not impossible. You took medicine to surpress Omegan urges, all of it so you could stay with Steve. He tried to tell you that you shouldn't sacrifice so much for him.
"You're worth itā¦" You said with a smile, and he kissed you senseless before making love to you the way he always did.
Steve, as a Beta was pretty big. Before, you adjusted, you familiarized with it, your body learnt to take it and enjoy it. That didn't change at all. It was still what you knew, what he gave you, what you always felt. Even as an Omega, he was able to fill you the same way he's done before.
And a month later⦠Steve presented. An Alpha.
You weren't present for his rut. You were out working, and when you returned home, he was still breathing heavily, naked on the bed, and your eyes fell right between his legs. He asked of you to not help him, that it already passed, and you saw how the sheets and your clothes were all stained, his seed all over it, his sweat, his drool.
Thanks to your suppressants, a heat didn't trigger when you saw him, but your nostrils could not help but flare at the scent. His scent had always been delicious, but now it was so intense, so addictive. You wanted to help him⦠but⦠butā
He had changed. He was bigger, thicker, and you were sure it was heavier. You remember the first few times Steve and you had sex. It was slow, gentle, until you could finally let go, after you could adjust to him. It wasn't what you remembered, yet it was.
You should be scared. You should be a little worried, but all you wanted was that. You wanted it. His strides changed, too, as if he needed more room to walk. You didn't tell him, but you decided to stop taking your suppressants. You shouldn't have done it without consulting the doctor, but you wanted your instincts to fully engulf in Steve.
Both of you sat on the couch, and you had been purring at Steve, lying on his chest, and he had heard your purrs before on him, but he knew what you wanted. He sighed, shaking his head, turning off the TV.
"Why did you turn it off?" You asked, and he looked down at you, an eyebrow raised.
"You are not paying attention to it." He said, and you pouted. Finally, he sighed, closing his eyes. "We don't have to⦠I knowā I know it's not the same down there, and I don't want to hurt youā¦"
"But I want it⦠Are we just not going to have sex anymore?" You whined, and he ran a hand through his hair in despair, a tent already appearing in his pants at the simple word of it. You took notice of it, biting your bottom lip as your hand itched to get closer to it.
"I mean, no, but I'm just afraid, sweetheart. The last thing I want is hurt you, and I remember our first time, and I know it's gonna happen again. You were already tight when I thought I was a Beta⦠I can't imagine now⦠Fuckā" He threw his head back as images filled his brain, his cock twitching for attention, and the needy Omega of his girlfriend was not helping his state.
And you looked at his profile, hearts in your eyes, your slick starting to coat your underwear. You leaned forward, your lips pressing against his neck, and he growled in his throat, and he knew it wasn't something that could be ignored for long. Not when the love of his life was⦠mateable.
So, he carried you to your room, throwing you on the bed, undressing you with urgency as he kissed you senseless, and you couldn't be happier. You were purring, chirping, moaning his name as you finally felt that need and that itch being scratched.
"Alphaā¦" You breathed out, and he groaned onto your clit, your slick having called out for him to have a taste. He was drunk off of it, and he wanted more and more and more, and his tongue licked and slurped, taking everything you had to give.
He didn't want to stop, not even when you came undone underneath him and on his tongue. But his cock was asking for attention and the need to be engulfed in your heat. You were crying out his name as you finally unclenched from his fingers, three to be exact, and he could let go of you. He stood up to rip his pants off as well as his underwear, and your eyes were immediately drawn to him.
Red at the tip, pulsating, twitching, big and thick. It wasn't unfamiliar, but at the same time, you had awareness of it. You couldn't help but lick your lips as he doubted for a second before climbing over you. The head of his cock rubbed against your slit, and he cursed under his breath.
"You need to tell me if it's too much⦠If it hurtsā¦" He pleaded, and you nodded wildly, wanting him inside of you no matter what and when he pushed in, your eyes widened, your mouth opening widely as you threw your head back.
Shit. Fuck. Fuck. It was stretching, it was burning, it was sort of painful, but you didn't want to stop. You wanted to adjust. You needed to adjust. This was your Alpha, and yours only, so your body will listen to you.
"Ghā" You were choking on your breath, on your saliva. Your head was spinning at the feeling, many emotions passing through it, and Steve, even in his euphoric state, held back. He was staring at your expressions, at the slight twitches as he sank in slowly, letting you adjust for a few seconds at each inch.
"Baby, Omega, talk to meā"
"Keā p gā ng," You couldn't formulate full sentences, your breath being knocked out of you. He looked down between your bodies, and he was glad he only had a few inches left to go and bottom out inside of you.
But then he felt pressure, and you gasped. He stopped completely, shaking his head.
"No, this is all you can take, no more." He said, and your eyes snapped towards him, and your instincts drove you insane. You couldn't think properly, and you could feel your slick coating him more and more, and you could feel just how your hips burned, as if they were shifting slowly so you could take him completely.
And then you understood. His knot. You wanted to be knotted. And if he didn't bottom out, he was not going to.
Your body moved, a strength you shouldn't have as an Omega, and Steve was caught off guard when you tightened your thighs around his hips, and with your hands, you pushed him to the side, his cock never leaving your inside, and as soon as your knees hit the bed, straddling him, you slammed down on him.
You cried out, your hips hurting, your pelvis feeling like it was suddenly punched. You couldn't breathe, and Steve's soul left his body. Your head was thrown back, tears slipping to the sides of your face. You were full, more than full. You knew that if you looked down, you would be able to see the tip of his cock outline on your belly.
You were his Omega. He was your Alpha. Yours. And you were made to take him and only him. And if you could adjust once, you would adjust again.
"Holy fuck, shit, god!" He cursed, never having felt like this, his body engulfed in flames, in lava almost. You were pulsing around him, fluttering, and your hips shifted, slowly, side to side, making him groan, his hands grabbing at your thighs, his fingertips not realizing they were digging harshly into your skin.
And then, relief. Sudden relief. It was still punching your stomach outwards, but you smiled with satisfaction as you purred loudly, your hands slamming on his chest as you moved upwards, and then back down. You felt yourself trembling on top of him, slick falling onto his pelvis, at the base of his cock, and you didn't feel like the normal you. This was a feral version you never saw in your life.
Steve's chest rumbled in need, and as he saw the satisfaction in your face, he looked down to see the outline of the tip of his cock over your skin. So deep inside of you, where no one else would go. You were his. And you were deciding to adjust, forcing your body to accept him fully. And when you moved a few times, it felt like something clicked in his head. In his body.
And he flipped you over, his hips moving faster, and your moans grew louder, and louder, purring, whimpering, crying, begging for more, and more.
"Steveā Fuck! Alpha, please, please, please," You panted heavily, and Steve lost his mind, ramming into you like a madman. Your slickness was making him slide in and out easily, and he knew you were staining the sheets below him, and he couldn't be happier. Your scent, your arousal, your need for him, made him pulsate.
"I'm gonna knot, shitā Baby, Omega," And you knew it was going to be painful, you were aware, and yet you were not scared. In fact, you wanted it so you could learn to take it. To learn to have it always. To learn so it would someday take.
You nodded desperately, and you gasped as it started forming, pain surging over your body, your hips, your walls, and yet it was so satisfying. You cried out with a hiss, nails digging into his shoulders as he grew and grew, and he apologized at each second with grunts, but you wouldn't have it any other way.
Not when he comes the way he does inside of you, and you milk him dry. Not when he locked in inside of you, and you rubbed your belly to caress the outline of his cock over your skin. He was breathing heavily, lying on his side and holding you close, waiting for his knot to go down.
"I'm sorry for hurting you⦠I'm⦠I bet it hurts even nowā¦" He voiced out, and you looked up at him, drunk on your Alpha.
"I'll adjust⦠We just have to do this over and over again, Stevieā¦"
Plot: You were going through isolation sickness before running into an injured Robin Buckley. DAY 2 - PACK ISOLATION SICKNESS
You found Robin injured in the woods.
You tended to her, protected her from the demogorgons that filled the world now after many gates opened. Your family left you in Hawkins when you were just in the middle of your heat, saying they needed to survive, and with you being an Omega, you would hold them back with your heats.
For two months, you have been on your own, feeling weaker at each step. You knew you were going to succumb to the sickness sooner or later. Being a lonesome Omega was not ideal for the apocalypse, because, if you weren't gonna die from a monster, you would die because of isolation sickness.
And that would be pathetic.
So when you found Robin, and took care of her for a week until she could guide you back to her community. You knew her from your old school days, about four years ago. You were relieved to find her, because even as a Beta, she tried to scent you, knowing now what you were going through.
"I will get you nice and cozy in our community, and there are a lot of Hawkins people in there, too! You are part of my pack now, so they can all suck it." You smiled brightly at that, knowing you found a place to finally settle in. Her leg got better from the scratch she got from one of those crazy bats, but she still needed medication in case it got infected.
You stood alert as you slowly moved, taking a full day to finally return. The place was large, and you stood in awe as they opened the doors upon seeing Robin. Her arm was around your shoulder, and you were amazed when you saw the houses, the buildings that they kept up in this town, surrounded by big metal walls they assembled to keep the monsters outside.
But then, your nose twitched, a familiar scent coming your way. A scent you didn't think you would ever smell again because you had walked away from him. The Alpha, who was once a potential mate.
Eddie Munson was running your way, alongside Steve Harrington, who was crying with relief as he saw Robin. You were deaf to noise, deaf to Robin smiling and calling Steve's name as she let go of your shoulder, limping his way, meeting him in the middle.
Time stood still, both of you looking at each other, and then you saw it. The distaste in his face. The disgust. The betrayal. Your scent was a stench to him, making him scrunch his nose. A relationship that was hidden, one you didn't want the world to know at that time, nor your parents. You didn't want them to separate you from Eddie, and you wanted to wait to mate him. You wanted to wait until you were certain you could move out of the house.
But Eddie thought you were ashamed of having him as an Alpha. You could have fought. You could have, but you weren't as wise. You weren't as bright back then. But he didn't fight it either. He didn't stop you, he didn't follow you, he didn't search for you.
You were on the brink of a breakdown, and then you saw it. Eddie and Steve rush to Robin, rubbing themselves against her, scenting her. People approached you, thanking you because they looked for Robin endlessly and could not find her. Some recognized you, some didn't.
Joyce Byers approached you, happy to settle you in. You slowly agreed to it, but your mind was still reeling at the thought of Eddie being here. You could feel the rejection, the need to drive you away so he wouldn't be near you at all.
So you stood outside the hospital cabin, looking through to see Robin in the bed, receiving medication as she talked with everyone. Her pack. Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, Will Byers, Jonathan Byers⦠and Eddie Munson. Someone stood next to you, and you turned to look to see Dustin Henderson with a big smile on his face.
"I remember you! Thank you so much for saving Robin. We looked everywhere for her, but she is really good at hiding, but not good with hearing, so⦠if we passed by her, she probably didn't hear us." He chuckled nervously, and you nodded absentmindedly, turning your head to look back into the window. Your breath hitched as Eddie rubbed his wrist against Robin's, and you suddenly felt⦠sick.
"Yeah, I⦠I went to Hawkinsā¦" You gulped, and he cleared his throat, keeping his smile on his face. A welcoming one, from a once a pup that already had the scent of an Alpha coming through.
"Well, it will be nice having you here! We have to get you completely settled into a house and not a temporary bed, and then we can introduce the whole pack to youā"
"I actually have to go⦠Iā" Your voice almost cracked as you looked down, noticing that you couldn't smell Robin's scent on you any longer. "I have my own pack waiting for me⦠A little southā¦"
"That's going back to Hawkins? Didn't you come from there?" You cleared your throat, a lie coming up.
"No, I was in Indianapolis⦠I have to go back to my pack, my family. They're waiting for meā¦" He nodded, not being able to perceive the lie or your distress through your scent. He sighed, putting his hand out.
"Well, I wish you luck. I am sure you can take some ammo and food for your travel!" You gave him a small smile, shaking his hand as you felt your body beginning to sweat.
This⦠You weren't welcome here.
ā
The next day, Robin was walking outside with crutches, her friends around her as she looked around, frowning. Eddie noticed, tilting his head.
"What is it, Robs?"
"Where's my saviour? She still sleeping?" She asked with a smile, and Dustin frowned, shaking his head.
"No? She left last night. We gave her some ammunition, food, and water for her travel!" He smiled happily, but Robin's face fell, looking at him as if he were joking.
"Wā You kicked her out!?" Her breathing became heavy and shaky. She started trembling on her own two feet, and Steve held her up, his hand on her chest as he frowned in worry. Dustin's face fell, his hands coming up to try to calm Robin down.
"N-No! She said she was heading back to her pack! Waiting in Hawkins!" At that, Robin finally let out a cry, calling your name, and Eddie stood in alert, his body setting aflame in just one instant, noticing her distress, her anger, her sadness, her worry.
"She has no pack! I was the only one she had, and I got her here because she was going through isolation sickness! She was going to die!" She began losing her breath, crying as she started limping with her crutches towards the gates. Nancy tried stopping her, grabbing her shoulders, but Robin was still crying, calling your name as she tried pulling herself towards the gates.
"Iā I'm sorry! I didn't know, I didn't know she didn't have a pack, she said she didā" And Dustin's arms were grabbed tightly, turning him to face intense brown eyes, a growl vibrating in his chest, his body trembling, sweating, and tears that were threatening to fall at any moment.
"Where did she go?"
ā
You were in pain. So much pain. Your stomach turned, your belly burned, and your limbs began to lose mobility the more time that passed.
You found an abandoned school bus, just a few kilometers from the community you just left. Your feet already lost strength as you walked out of the gates, but you pushed through. You needed to go as far away as possible, because you knew this was going to be your end. This was it.
Pathetic way to die. The glimpse of hope you had was taken away in just a week. But at least you got to see him one last time, didn't you? At least you could smell him, even if it was kind of bitter, it was still the wooden scent you remembered. You lie on the broken seats on the floor; someone had done a bed in the past with them, and at least you had something comfortable to finally close your eyes.
You were running a fever, your heart probably overworking itself as it tried to survive. With your last strength, grunting, tears streaming down your face, you flopped on your belly, reaching to grab your backpack. Your knuckles hurt, your hand was aching, but you rummaged through it to finally find your notebook and your pencil.
Your handwriting was messy, but you didn't even have the strength to hold the pencil in your hand. You put your name, the date, and you guessed that it was sometime in the afternoon. You were breathing heavily, feeling your eyes growing tired, but you managed to thank Robin for trying and send a message to Eddie.
'You were my mate.'
Your heart slowed down, the pencil fell from your fingertips, and your breathing grew steady, calm, and the pain⦠was suddenly gone.
ā
You were being held close against a chest. A wooden scent you remembered too fondly. You sighed in relief, finally having a rest. This was probably heaven, or whatever comes after one dies. Eddie's scent was all around you, and you knew it was him holding you close, rocking you back and forth. If this was what was waiting for you on the other side, you would have died a lot sooner.
"I got you, baby⦠I got you⦠I won't ever let you go. Never again."

DAY 1 - KNOTTING
You were scared.
You asked your best friend to spend your first heat with you, but you were still frightened by the thought of a knot inside of you. When you presented, you didn't think you would be an Omega, mostly because when you learnt about secondary genders, you were immediately uncomfortable when you saw just how big Alphas knots could enlarge.
It was impossible to take that. You were in shock when you heard stories about how good it felt, how amazingly pleasant it was to finally satiate that itch, that need. You scrunched your nose each time you heard them, because how could your inside stretch that much?
Hearing them say how the only thing they thought about was the knot, about being filled to the brim, and you really didn't know if you would feel any of that because of your fear. But Steve offered to help you through your heat, and he would make sure not to knot you at all. You didn't want a bad experience, and from what you knew, spending a heat alone wasn't the best thing to ever happen to an Omega.
And Steve cared for you. He cared deeply for you, and he wanted to protect you through everything, even from your designation and fear.
Now, this was the problem, you accepted without question because you held feelings for your best friend ever since you could remember. In some little space in your heart, you were grateful of being an Omega, because that meant you would have at least one chance with him. When he offered to help, you were pretty sure you heard angels sing all around you.
But in the present, your insides were burning, you were sweating, slick was coming out of you in gushes all over your sheets. You built a nest with clothes from your friends, and Steve was the one who brought them all in. Most of the clothes were from him, though. You felt more protected that way, more secure, and his scent made wonders for you to try to calm yourself.
"Sweetheart, I'm gonna start making you feel good, okay?" He was hovering over your naked body. In another moment of your life, you would have been ashamed, embarrassed, not good enough, but right now, all you needed was the Alpha above you to do something, anything.
"Please, pleaseā¦" You whispered, choked up on your own sobs as you reached out for him. He was trembling, and when he pressed his lips against yours, you could feel yourself melting down into the mattress, wrapping your arms around his naked upper body. He was in his boxers only, having taken his clothes off as soon as he entered the room, your scent making his head spiral.
He kissed you senseless, merging his body against yours, and you could feel how hard he was, and fuckā You wanted it so bad. You needed it so bad. You craved it so bad. Your hips bucked against him, making him hiss out against you, but not complaining.
His lips were all over you, kissing his way down, making you come undone with his tongue and fingers. Those fingers that drove you wild each time they intertwined with yours while holding his hand over the table at a diner. You moaned his name, you moaned his designation multiple times, trying to get him to do more, trying to get him to give you what you needed.
"Oh, fuckā¦" He muttered when he finally slid inside of you, easily so thanks to your slick. You were so wet for him that it kept gushing and gushing out at each thrust he gave. You moaned, cried, and whimpered, feeling every ridge of him inside of you. He was breathing heavily as he moved his hips against yours, jerking you up and down into your bed, his lips kissing your left shoulder over and over again.
"Steveā Alpha, Alpha, more, more!" You cried out, and he was giving his all and yet it was not enough. The fire was not extinguishing, not even a little bit. Your insides were flipped almost, cramps in your belly that ached for something, for more, for anything, and your mushed brain was losing rationality.
"Omega, baby, I'm getting closeā Jesus christ!" You came around him for the third time, crying out, and he huffed almost in pain as he sweated all over. His hair was sticking to his forehead, and you could feel him start to rut his hips into you. When you came down from your high, tears streamed down your face, shaking your head.
"Not enough, not enough, more, pleaseā"
"Iā I need to pull out, I'm going to knot, and you don't wantā" Your eyes widened, your legs wrapping around his waist to lock him in. He gasped, eyes going wide, shaking his head desperately, but his hips didn't stop moving at all. "Omega, you said you didn't want my knot, I can'tā"
"No! Please! I take it back! I take it back! Want it, please!" Your mouth was open, drool coming out from the side of it, and he was looking down at you almost painfully, trying to hold himself back. He made you a promise, and you were not thinking rationally at all. You were being driven by your heat, just like he predicted.
"I won't, fuck, I won'tā"
"Am I not enough? Not good Omega? No?" You were blabbering, more tears streaming down, desperation in your tongue, and his hands were tight around your pillow, on each side of your head. He shook his head erratically, pressing his lips against yours, breathing against them.
"If I knot you, Omega, I won't be able to move onā" He whispered your name, and you nodded, hands going through his hair as his hips started stuttering, losing his tempo.
"Please, Alpha, pleaseā" Your eyes widened as he moaned loudly, seething himself inside of you, and you could feel the stretch, your head falling back into the pillow with wide eyes. Your mouth hung open as you felt him grow against your walls, and fuck, you could feel the pressure, but also, the relief. The wave of relief just washed all over your body as he consumed you, locking himself inside of you.
And you came around him once more, milking him as he spurted his seed inside of you, a growl vibrating all around, and his teeth nipping tentatively against your neck, threateningly close to your mating gland. You clenched and clenched, to what it felt like an eternity, and then finally, you let go.
You were breathing heavily underneath him, a mess of drool, tears, sweat, and below, he was probably leaking all around you, mixing with your slick. He was trembling, holding himself up as best as he could so that he would not drop his body against yours.
And finally, clarity.
"Oh my godā¦" You whispered, and his eyes snapped open, panting, looking up at your face, getting himself away from your neck. He was red, choked up, and he shook his head at you with worry, with guilt.
"Iā I am so sorry, I couldn'tā I couldn't stop it, I tried, but you didn't let me, and you were crying andā"
"I am so stupidā¦"
"What?"
"It feels so good⦠Godā¦" You sighed out of relief, feeling like a feather, and the heat was gone. You knew it would be temporary, but it was still such a good feeling. Your eyes were closed as a pleased and tired smile spread on your lips. You could feel him inside of you, almost pulsing, but being like this with him was pure bliss, and it made your heart content. He gulped over you, nodding.
"It does⦠You're not mad?" He asked, and you opened your eyes, smiling at him.
"No⦠Should I?" He looked at you, his body untensing, his eyes looking for yours, and finallyā
"Is it a bad time to tell you I'm in love with you?"

Just losing my mind at the implications that the companions have all been trying to help Rook grieve Varric, and Rook doesnāt know
Emmrich, wise and long-familiar with grief, being told by Neve and Harding what happened; understanding why sometimes he overhears Rookās muffled voice in the Infirmary, talking to no one. He takes Rook to the Memorial Gardens and mentions he talks to his parents, thinking Rook might be comfortable with the same. Rook lights candles and rings bells but Emmrich watches, sorrowed, to see Rook still seems in deep denial.
Neve takes Rook to the Wall of Light; a Shadow Dragon Rook knows just what this means but any Rook can understand the solemnity, the power of remembrance. Neve reenergizes Bromās light and looks to Rook, hoping Rook will mention wanting to make one for Varric. Rook is kind and comforting to Neve, but Neve is lost in wondering why Rook doesnāt take the chance to open up. She canāt figure it. Maybe Rook just canāt face it, not yet. Maybe Rook does something privately. She isnāt sure but it nags at her.
Davrinās not big on talking about feelings. Heād rather just move on. But he sees the way Rook seems a little hollow sometimes, a little distant; he sees how Rook takes so quickly to Assan. āHey Rook,ā he says, and invites them to come with him and Assan to safe places in Arlathan, where the woods are clean and green and growing, where real sunlight dapples through the trees. Rook always seems to love these outings, seems lighter afterwards. But Davrin feels a little confused in that Rook never seems to realize the outings are mostly for them.
Taash is another person not big on feelings. But they know how much feelings can twist you up and mess with your head. When Lace tells them about Varric they feel badly for Rook, and think to how they feel when theyāre struggling. Epic fights, dragon fights, drinks with the Lords. Taash is perfectly capable of doing all that on their own. But maybe bringing Rook along will help get them out of their head a little bit. Does it help? Taash isnāt sure.
Bellaraās double-versed in grief after what happens to Cyrian. Rook helped her through trying to reach him, and Bellara wonders, in her own pain, if she can help Rook a little bit too. Especially if Rook is elven, teaching Rook about the braziers and the challenges is another tool she can share about her or their people, another way that might help Rook with their grief. Neveās told her that the Wall of Light didnāt seem to help Rook much, but maybe a different funeral tradition could help them instead. Rook helps her light the braziers and Bellara feels her heart lightening, though she wonders at Rook, who seems more moved by Bellaraās reactions than anything else.
Lucanis is nearly as allergic to dealing with feelings as Davrin is, but he immediately clocks how Neve and Harding are acting, and asks what happened before he joined them. They tell him about Varric and that theyāre worried about Rook, that Rook seems to just be shoving those feelings down without dealing with them. Lucanis is no stranger to that, but while itās fine for him, he doesnāt want to see someone who risked their life to save him share that struggle. He brings Rook to Caterinaās funeral planning to show Rook itās okay to admit the loss and honor it. When that doesnāt seem to make a dent, he falls back to his standard - lavish meals, small gifts, coffee. He knows it would help him. He just wishes it helped Rook too.
Lace hurts the worst after losing Varric and Lace is where Solasā magic comes the closest to faltering. Rook can see Lace is down, sheās quiet, sheās afraid after what happens with the gods escaping; but Solasā magic holds and Rook can still never see quite why. Lace would love to sit over drinks one night and share stories about Varric, but she sees that Rook doesnāt seem ready, and she doesnāt want to push. Instead she writes letters to Ma, to the Inquisitor, to Cassandra, to Aveline, maybe even to Hawke. She writes out her stories with Varricās old quill and she carries a bolt of Bianca with her. A dozen times she goes to talk to Rook about him, and when she tries Rook turns away or changes the subject. It hurts, but Lace knows she canāt make Rook talk about him, and she hopes in time it will get better.
This just absolutely crushes me the more I think about it š
Edit: Varricās death is Rookās personal companion quest every other single companion tries to help them with, and canāt ššš
