I Don't Care - Megadeth

OVERALL RATING : 9/10

Positives - - -

The Instrumentation is absolutely amazing, Megadeth are STILL producing some of the best guitar tracks of Thrash.

This whole post could be about the solos alone. they're just absolutely perfect in every way. I love the slight variation between the two guitars tone aswell, hearing the switch from Teemu to Dave is incredible

It's an incredibly hot take, but I LOVE THE VOCALS AN LYRICS, I've heard so many people calling them 'edgy' and 'unlistenable', but it feels just like early Megadeth, and Im all for it. Especially the pre-chorus, it just flows so fucking well

Negatives - - -

I feel like the modern drums are really lacking, and just feels really generic

Outside of the soloing, the riff is sort of boring. However, I'll give it a pass because it does work to let the bass show through

Conclusion- - -

Overall, this track (And it's release partner 'Tipping Point') has really gotten me so excited to hear the self-titled album, and I've got VERY high expectations given these releases

Best song : Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Strengths : The switch from pure guterals to including more tame Distorted Vocals is a very welcome change, and the Drum machine sounded amazing.

While their previous releases were less than a 4 for me, I feel they've redeemed themselves quite a fair amount

Negatives - - -

Worst song : N/A

(Hard to distinguish)

Weaknessess : Overall, the album isn't anything particularly special and just feels like they're pushing the 'long name' aspect of the band and pumping out songs that could've taken maybe a day at most to write, with basic chug riffs and random samples.

Conclusion - - -

Xavleg seem to rely on their name for their popularity, and while their music is certainly something to mosh and headbang to, its quality isn't exactly astounding.

However, I do see a major improvement since their first releases

So, while there isn't too much praise to give this EP, it also doesn't have too many negatives, a solid 6 for me.
