You know, I always wonder how the HxH dudebros can't see what we see and then I remember that these guys don't know about the biggest, most undeniable piece of subtext for killugon ever: SHINJUU!

And there is a LOT of romantic subtext to choose from when it comes to killugon, though, if a homophobic person really puts their mind to it, they can easily dismiss it as platonic (e.g. the Gon You Are Light scene (I would never look at my best friend and think of her as the light of my life but whatever)).

But They don't know about shinjuu, because why would they unless they understood Japanese? This is the one piece of subtext for which I cannot come up with a counter argument. Shinjuu is objectively romantic, the Japanese equivalent to Romeo and Juliet, never used in a platonic context in Japanese literature. And not only does Killua use that word to refer to himself and his no homo platonic best friend Gon, but we get an outside objective perspective, Meleoron, to confirm that Killua was dead serious when he said that.

I wish dudebros actually listened to what we had to say instead of constantly parroting "they are children, ships are ruining fandom", because I guarantee they would flip their shit if they found out about shinjuu.

Notice how narusasu has recently been getting recognized and accepted by the dudebros of the Naruto fandom? I predict in a few years time the exact same will happen with killugon.

Me reminding myself that Togashi made Killua the biggest yearner for a reason. Surely there was meaning behind Killua removing the needle through the sheer power of love and devotion towards Gon. Surely it was not for nothing when Gon said Killua was the only one for him. There must be a reason why the Zoldyck arc felt like a forbidden love story. There is a reason why Killua's birthday is the same day as the Tanabata festival. There is a reason why Hisoka compared Killua and Gon to a straight couple when Nanika's power was explained. It is no coincidence that KilluGon share paralles with Meruem and Komugi. Right? RIGHT??
