The way that Neal says to Emma, “I just want you to be happy, even if it isn’t with me.” Because he thinks she’s closed the door on them because she didn’t turn up to their post-Neverland date and he’s saying it’s okay.

And she replies, “We were happy, once.” Because she hasn’t actually closed that door at all it’s just a huge misunderstanding and she never gets to tell him that she still sees a future with him because then he FUCKING DIES.

Broke: Whatever the OUAT lore is.

Woke: Peter, being Rumple’s older brother, has to raise him since their deadbeat father is always gone. He works as an apprentice for a blacksmith during the day, leaving him to dream about Neverland every night. The seamstresses give him the magic bean for his 18th and tell him to get him and his brother far away from their father’s legacy. He uses it to bring them to Neverland and is thoroughly confused when the magic no longer works for him. The shadow informs him that he’s an adult and thus he doesn’t belong on the island. Devastated, Peter asks if there’s anything he can do to change that. It’s revealed to him that he has to give up his only adult responsibility: Rumple. While Peter loves his brother, there has always been a growing resentment towards him since he views him as the reason he never had a childhood. The deal is sealed and Rumple is removed from the island. Of course, he feels guilty for what he has done, but for the first time in his life, he feels free.

I'm so sorry but can we talk about how weird is when someone writes smut in stories, fics or something like that with pan from ouat and some girl/boy or a reader?!? I mean, I always think about his real age... what would happen if one day the girl/boy found about that? they wouldn't feel raped?!? idk, if I was them I would go to the closest mountain and jump

I’ve always thought that shipping Pan with any modern day minor was weird. Smut is most definitely included. It definitely falls under the category of deceit with the whole age thing. I can’t even really compare it to anything since it’s such a unique case. His aging didn’t pause, he de-aged. I’m not gonna claim that I know OUAT characters down to their psychology but he definitely does not have the mind of a teenaged boy and retains his memory of his adult life. Physically he’s a boy, mentally he’s a middle aged man. There’s no going around it and claiming something different; he still tempts his son with the idea of being a family. But also don’t ship him with an adult because his body is physically a teen and it’s also really weird.

That being said, I hate most OUAT ships for this reason. There’s a lot of weird age gaps and dynamics going on in the show and in the fandom, but at least those are between two consenting adults.

Peter Pan secretly being an adult is also just. Bad writing. It’s lazy and done only for shock value and to make the family tree even more confusing. In the podcast about the Manhattan episode they talk about how Rumple’s dad was dead and he watched him die, which is what should have happened. I think the best take is that he should’ve been Rumple’s older brother who was tired of having to parent his younger sibling and abandons him for Neverland. Usually I’m not a fan of changing canon to fit narratives but OUAT’s writing is so bad that it really is up to the fandom to fix it.
