Company Values 1: Meritocracy and Reciprocity
I believe that my parents and I run our real estate company basing on meritocracy. We make sure that our employees are well compensated, and we make sure of their wellbeing as if they are our blood-related family.
But this good will is not a charity. Our business is not a charity. It needs to run basing on merit, whereupon our goodwill and fair treatment is predicated upon the quality of work and professionalism of our employees.
If our employees should fail to meet the standards of work, and professionalism towards their co-workers, then the good will should stop.
Working in our company, with all the benefits that come with it, is not a charitable cause: It comes with a price. And the price that we seek is not unfair in its roots; we just want good, honest, and professional work to be done - all which is in favor and for the good of the company.
I want to continue running this company basing on merit and merit alone. It is no good use of anybody's time and resources to be this kind and thoughtful wherein the employees are not reciprocating such good measures.
Yes, this is a family, but it is a business first.
We should be bound not by blood or word-of-mouth, but bound by quality work and professionalism.
