IM LATE AGAIN!
K-Pop Demon Hunters
I just finished watching this movie, and I am surprised with myself that I actually did. I am usually super late to popular IPs and stuff, so it’s a nice change of pace. I’m not a fan of K-Pop usually, I do know names of some groups and have heard songs but I never really kept up with any of them. However, the music of the movie was very fun and I have put them on my playlist.
I do think it is one of the better movies I have seen this year, but there are some things I was a bit disappointed with.
On the more serious side, I’m kinda disappointed that we didn’t get much interactions between Celine and the other Huntrix members. I think it would have been interesting to see how Celine treats the other members compared to Rumi.
On the more silly side, what happened to Mystery’s tusks?
He had them!
Where they go?! Put them back, they were cute!
I recently saw the new Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and I must say… it was okay.
I am always excited to see Beetlejuice in any media so I enjoyed the movie, but it definitely is a step down from the first movie. Beetlejuice was the best part of the new movie but that is to be expected.
I was a big fan of the original movie, the musical and the cartoon so this new movie just fueled my love for this character.
I decided to do a redraw of a piece I did earlier.
COTL has been such a fun game and one of the few I can convince my younger sibling to play with me.
SCPs were a big part of my life during my early years on the internet. I started my journey into internet horror with creepypastas then stumbled across the SCP wiki.
The first SCP I read was SCP 087, so this one holds a special place in my heart. As many young fans, I quickly fell in love with 049 and my fascination with old school medical equipment and practices help solidify this guy as one of my faves.
I think the first SCP that actually made me feel a bit freaked out was SCP 2718. I had been reading SCPs for a couple of years by that point but the creativity of this one and the narrative was so good that I often think back on this one with nostalgia.
SCP 1762 made me tear up. Is it dumb to feel sentimental over paper dragons, yes. But by golly did I want to learn origami after reading this one. In a similar vein, SCP 2295 made my heart feel warm. I love the horrific stories told in this community but the love and selflessness of this bear made this SCP one of my favorites. The hopelessness of the last log with this bear felt familiar to me which puts this SCP in my top 5. SCP 2006 surprised me in how much I liked it. I do like subversive stories in horror and the use of old school horror monsters for the inspiration was so good.
I had left this fandom due to life junk a couple of years ago, but now that my life has been returning to a new normal I wanted to visit my old favorite pieces of media. I want to jump back in with the numerous SCPs that have been written since my absence and hopefully find some new faves. I heard of some of the drama in the community in passing but I have very little knowledge of most of it.
I just watched the Borderlands movie and it was… not good. I want to call it horrifyingly bad however my non-video gamer parents found the movie watchable. But they also liked the Emoji Movie, so half a point for the movie.
I was biased when the movie was announced as I was super disappointed that Mordecai and Brick were not going to be in it. I admittedly wasn’t a big fan of the games due to me not really playing many shooters at the time but I did play the second game a couple of times with my sibling when they first released. I was more into the characters, concepts of the games, and the dumb humor.
I do not completely hate the cast choices in theory. I liked the actor for Tina and Krieg in terms of design. Their jokes however almost never landed. For the others, don’t really mind them making Lilith and Tannis older compared to in the games if they used a better script. Roland could have worked with a better script, but I do think another actor would have had an easier time portraying the character compared to Kevin.
I do think the majority of the issues I had with this movie is the script and editing. The jokes rarely landed (which I can only give them a half a point as my mother did laugh a singular time during the entire movie). Jack Black seemed to try with the jokes. The jokes with Claptrap were boring at best and agonizing at worst. Tina’s actor seemed to try really hard to get the jokes to land, but the timing of many of them seemed too long between the setup and the punchline. Krieg had similar issues as his “one-liners” were awkward in timing as they were set too late in scenes. Lilith seemed too preoccupied in defending the choice of having the character being older rather than actually being a character (ex. Having Lilith continuously complaining about being old). Roland really tried to come off as serious which could have possibly worked if the world surrounding the character was more “borderlands-esque”. However, due to the rest of the cast and environments being as “bland”, there was not enough of a contrast to be fun. Tannis’s acting was odd. It was almost over-the-top enough to be decent, but again was held back by the script.
Not a good movie, .5/10.
Uh oh, is it the last minute yet.
I'm assuming that the first couple of batches of soulstorm brew had some.... unintended side effects.
Oh Lulu, my poor lazy boy. He has been my favorite Glukkon for years. I've always felt kinda bad for this man as he didn't really do anything malicious (that we know of). I really hope that we see him in some capacity in the next Oddworld game.
A meme under the cut:
I am still mad that we never got Sligstorm.
Lulu and his stylish slig was my favorite part of Munch's Oddysee, they got moves.
I have not animated anything in over two years so this is the best I can do right now. I have a habit of becoming attached to villain characters who are a little weird so the glukkons were always my favorite part of the oddworld games when they appeared. Also, I always loved in the Exxodus Brewmaster's concept art he has a pocket watch with a iconic little rat on it so I had to give it back to the Soulstorm Brewmaster.
Ive been playing AFK journey after playing AFK Arena for years and I must say it is a fun game. The designs are cool and the story is interesting enough for a mobile RPG. Too bad I got attached to a tank character who dies in like the first few seconds of every battle. Oh well, I guess I just need to over level him like I do to any other of my favorite game characters who are trash.
Pokémon Indigo Disk spoilers below.
During your champion battle against Kieran, he has special dialogue if you switch in Ogerpon and it makes me both sad and laugh a bit. Like buddy, I just wanted her to see you again you don’t have to be rude.
Wow this is late. Oof.
lol. life kicked my butt and it has been insane since mid october. I missed the entire of my personal drawing challenges, oops.
I will be uploading them in the next couple of days but wow. The drawings should be better than the last one cause I had more time to work on them but they will still be kinda bad. Oh well
