“Once upon a time when women were birds there was the simple understanding that to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk was to heal the world through joy. The birds still remember want we have forgotten, that the world is meant to be celebrated.” from ‘When Women Were Birds’ by Terry Tempest Williams
India Calling...
April 9, 2014, 3:07 am
Phone rings - am I dreaming - no it's ringing - should I answer it? Yes. But it might be bad news…or maybe I won Publishers Clearing House?
Amy: stumbles from bed and reaches for phone (yes it's a land-line) and puts to ear...sounds like the ocean is calling Woman's voice: Hallo, Hallo, this is India Calling... Amy says nothing Woman From India: India Calling...I'm calling about your computer, (tone of voice climbing to hysteria) there is a worm in your computer infecting it... Amy hangs up - thinking FU Microsoft and your stupid XP

When I was 13 years old lying on my bed listening to my little green radio this is the song I waited for - well it was the Moody Blues - but this version is just beyond my wildest dreams!!!

“I like living. I have sometimes been wildly despairing, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing.” - Agatha Christie
When I look into my crystal ball - just like Dorothy - this is the home I see. Amy’s Place is in my dreams - my little place by the Mighty Atlantic Ocean.

When I rose this morning something had shifted in my sleep. A tiny flicker in my belly was now feeling like a raging fire - I had to make a change - to say goodbye to all I had worked for these past twenty-five years. So on this morning I took all my journals on acting and I threw them in the recycle bin - poured water all over them - so I would not be tempted to resurrect the words - the inadequacy of these past twenty-five years. The working, auditioning, sometimes a part, but no joy. The heartache and moving on. I realized that not being cast did not change my life. I am still me. A wave of warm smiles slip out of my center and it comes to me - I am a director - not a player. When I’m directing a play ideas, tactics, objectives, questions come to me like arrows piercing the center of a bullseye - fast and precise. Clearing a path to the stage. So on this day I joyfully say goodbye to acting. I do not need to be the player. I am much happier and inspired in the background; figuring the story out and collaborating with actors who shimmer and glow as they discover the world of the play, their characters and each other. Here’s to more plays in 2016!

Good morning to me. Beautiful blue sky - oatmeal, triple burner. Taking the time to savor what is important to me. Yes that’s it - me time. Dive into the blue/green in my mind. Feel the cool smooth water move along my strong and supple body. Break the surface and float, float, float.
Story telling is a landscape, and tragedy is comedy is drama. It simply depends on how you frame what you're seeing.
