“well, i know that! but what kind’a friend would i be if i hadn’t?” he gave her a light nudge before hugging back. delighted to see that she liked his present, his grin is beaming. “i was hopin’ ya would,” and then, after shaking the box, he places it on the ground and bends to open it. “hey, this is real neat! you’re great, till.”

“Still the best” she grinned brightly. she adored paxtin and the boys, they were like family to her “You know me far too well, you know that?” she was anxious while she watched him open the gift. What if he hates it? Ran through her mind and before she could second guess herself, she was reassured “You like it? I’m so relieved! I was worried you wouldn’t. I still have to drop the rest of the guys their gifts so I hope they like them too”

“Oh I know.” She grinned. “I always keep one set aside.”

“And I’m forever thankful” she beamed “What time to do you get off work at?”

it’d be the first time he and tilly got together for the holidays. with differing work and general life schedules, it’s been a little bit difficult. they’ve finally found a date where they can meet and do their gift exchange, and pax is more than thrilled. spotting her down the sidewalk, he heads her way, smile on his face. “and a gift for you,” he held out his ( very poorly ) wrapped gift, taking the box into his hands. 

She missed him dearly and felt bad that this was the soonest she could meet with him. her beaming smile stayed fixed on her face when she had received a gift from him “Pax, you didn’t have to” she smiled and gave him a hug. Tilly tore into the paper and let out a small squeal i delight “I love it! thank you!”

“Absolutely.” Perry nodded with a smile, pulling over a small box and placing the cupcake inside before handing it to the girl. “Here you go.”

“Amazing!” she grinned and accepted the box “You’re the best sister someone could ask for. You save me cupcakes”

Due to work and the holidays being a generally busy time for all, Tilly hadn’t had a chance to catch up with Paxtin. She practically skipped her way along the snow dusted sidewalk with a neatly wrapped box in her hands. When she spotted one of her nearest and dearest, Tilly waved over a hello and held out the box for him when she had finally met him “Happy belated holidays, a gift for you.”

He could see her skipping by the window from the corner of his eye and that prompted a hidden smile to surface on his face. “In here!” he replied while the customer was complaining away  about not being able to get his car until the morning. Seeing her head pop through the door was enough for him to shut down whatever rant the customer was on before he sent him on his way “No” he answered a little too quickly “I’m just finishing up here. C’mon let’s go” Tatum smiled and ushered the blonde out of the garage before locking up.

Tilly couldn’t help but feel like she did interrupt something but never had time to question anything before she was taken outside. “So where are we going?” she asked curiously since he hadn’t given her any clues when they were arranging the plans to begin with. Seeing him out of the garage was a rare occasion in general since he was the owner but it only made her appreciate the time more with him more.

Vanellope had gotten a craving for sweets, as she normally did, and had made her way to the Tea kettle to get a few pastries. Purchasing three danishes she turned to sit and saw the other sitting. She gave a small wave.

Tilly turned away from the birds, leaving them to their antics and noticed someone waving over at her “Vanellope! Hi!” she smiled and waved back “Do you need a seat? You’re welcome to join me if you’d like”

Roxanne mulled over her options as if they were drastically important. “I haven’t been to the zoo in a while and I heard they set up some of the exhibits to look like Santa’s workshop. That might actually be really cute to see.” 

“They did! I helped build them. My favourite is the North Pole” she bounced, capping her hands “Let’s do that then. A nice change from movie nights and endless coffees and cakes”

“Um-” Perry chewed her lip and looked through her case, grinning and pulling a cupcake up. “Yeah! I have one left.”

“Oh great!” she grinned, perking up that the cupcake was in today “Could I have that one please? I can’t help it I love them so much”

hello everyone!

i’m sorry i’ve not been on, the holidays have been crazy busy for me. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season (and if you don’t celebrate the holidays, I hope you had a wonderful past few days). 

I’m just finishing up my dinner and then I’ll be online to do replies & starters but i wanted to check in and say hello first

“Can I help you?” Perry asked, wiping her flour covered hands on her apron and smiling to the person who had walked into her cupcake shop.

“Have you got any red velvet cupcakes today?” she asked hoping the shop was in her favour today “I love those ones”

“Look I’m just closing up shop for the day, I’ve got something on. I can have a quick look at your car and have it fixed by the end of tomorrow morning for you, that okay?”

Almost skipping in from the snow, Tilly gently shook the snow from her hair and popped her head through the door hoping that she wasn’t interrupting. “Tatum?” she called out to let her friend know she’d arrived “Are you ready to go? If you’re caught up we can rearrange”

“So, don’t judge me, but I still need to go shopping for presents… I know, I’m awful for waiting this long.” Trent paused for a moment as he thought. He looked at the other person with desperate eyes. He knew he was running out of time. “Can you please help me? I’m hopeless.”

“Really Trent? I’d love to help! What have you bought in so far or have you not even started at all?” she asked curiously to see how long the shopping would probably take. “You’re not hopeless, sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming, that’s all”

Coffee would save her. Coffee would save her from the infinite boredom that her paperwork was consuming her with. Padme had left the office to get some fresh air, hoping that it would help bring a new perspective to the case she was working on. 

She had originally planned on going to the nearest take away place but she caught herself smiling at the the girl in the distant window of the Tea Kettle who was seemingly concerned about two birds. Before Padme knew it, her feet were taking her to the shop. Upon entering, she ordered her coffee and took residence in the empty seat across from Tilly “Find out anything from the birds? Those two are a couple of chatty cathy’s” she joked with a smile to the blonde haired girl. 

She shook her head out of her daze when she has heard someones voice - turning to see that it belonged to Padme. She couldn’t help but smile while her cheeks burned red. Tilly admired the woman. She was intelligent, an established hot shot lawyer, a respected city council member and all in all took no crap. Padme Armstrong was impressive to say the least. 

“Umm no, one mentioned he had a wedding to attend next week but he doesn’t want to do and the wife insists” she nodded, elaborating the story. “His friend thinks he should go too but he’s not having any of it”

“That is something I have been trying to figure out my entire life. Trust me, no matter how hard you try the mystery of the smell will remain a mystery.” Roxanne thought for a moment and shook her head. “I’ve had more then enough movie nights, we need to figure something fun to do. There has to be some cute holiday themed even going on. Even if it’s just a hot chocolate tasting or something.” 

“How cryptic” she pondered with a laugh. “Okay, no movie night then...Umm how about about catching one of the Christmas movies at the cinema, or going to the zoo?” she asked hoping that she managed to come up with something Roxanne would like to do.

Tilly found herself at the Tea Kettle staring up at the menu wracking her brain what she could possibly treat herself to. Panicking that a queue was beginning to form behind her, she settled for ordering a bearclaw pastry and a black coffee. The past few days had been hectic with getting things organised for the holidays both in her apartment and at work.

Thanking the server when she received her order, Tilly found a free table near the window to enjoy the view of the outdoors while she snacked away. She became particularly focused on some birds who were sitting on the windowsill nattering away to each other, which she heard the bell of the door chiming.

“Trust me, you really don’t want to know. It’s worse that she doesn’t even have a cat.” Roxanne shook her head and frowned. “I love my aunt but sitting around and watching dumb shows as she cries about how lonely she is will be the death of me.” Roxanne said with a smile. “Really! That will be great.” 

“She doesn’t? Then how has she acquire the scent of cat?” she asked with confusion addressing her features. “That doesn’t seem festive at all. No offence to your aunt but no thank you” Tilly beamed at the acceptance of her offer “Great! We could have a movie night or go out...whatever you’d like to do”
