At the mention of the rings, he knelt himself down to take them from the cusion that Sarge had in his mouth, ruffling his ears softly before straightening himself up, taking her left hand and bringing it up to have full access.
"With this ring, I marry you and bind my life to yours. It is a symbol of my eternal love, My everlasting friendship, And the promise of all my tomorrows.”
Bucky repeated without a doubt, slipping the ring onto her finger before grinning over at her, offering her his own ring in the palm of his hand.
Nicole took his hand, retrieving the ring from the pillow in Cooper’s mouth.
"With this ring, I marry you and bind my life to yours. It is a symbol of my eternal love, My everlasting friendship, And the promise of all my tomorrows.” She slipped the ring onto his finger, smiling up at her soon to be husband. It was getting closer and closer to the first time that they would be announced as husband and wife. She could feel it.
"Throughout the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom have vowed to love and remain steadfast and loyal to one another as they stand before their assembled community of friends and family.The bride and groom have each formalized and sanctified their bond by exchanging wedding vows and rings.May your love be eternal and undying.By the power vested in me by the state of New York. I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!" The pastor bellowed, turning to Bucky as though finally giving him a pass to kiss Nicole.
He smiled as soon as he felt the ring placed onto his finger, looking down at the metal that rested on even more metal, wishing that he could feel it as well as he would have been able to do on his right, but it was there, that was what was the most important thing.
As soon as he was given permission, Bucky's hands slipped from her hands in order to slip them onto her face gently, one thumb brushing over her cheek before tugging her closer before he could finally press his lips against hers, grinning into the kiss as he could hear the cheering of Steve behind him, not really paying that much attention as Nicole was his main focus.
"I love you, Mrs. Barnes," He whispered against her lips in amusement.
Bucky didn’t even bat an eyelash when he saw the gun holster on Nicole’s thigh, only raising a brow at Darren’s comment. It was then the soldier cleared his throat to get his attention, opening his jacket for a moment to flash his own weapon in the shoulder holster before buttoning it up once more for appearances sake.
Bucky felt himself catch his breath slightly when he heard the others vows, feeling himself being supported by the strong, familiar hand of Steve on his shoulder to keep him in place, knowing that the vows that Nicole spoke hit home for Bucky as there were times he had worried for the brunette, but had seen a vast improvement since his relationship with Nicole began.
When she had finished, the smile was still on his face, a real one that was saved only for her as he leaned forward, knowing that he was not allowed to kiss her just yet, so he settled for her forehead instead. “God, I love you, so much,” He whispered quietly against her skin.”Thank you. For everything.”

Unlike Nicole he himself had been to weddings before, granted they had not been for a long time and he had always been in attendance with one or two of his parents, but he knew the settings well enough that he wasn’t uncomfortable with the scene.
Nodding in agreement to the father’s words, he shifted his hand so that his fingers were laced with Nicole’s, pressing his lips against her knuckles softly before he dared to speak.
"Nicole," He began, looking from her hands to her face, giving her a smile. "God I love you, more than anything in the world. You’ve stuck with me in both my good days and my absolute worst, even though you never had to. I wouldn’t be standing here without you, you’ve saved my life, on more than one occasion and I will never know how to thank you for that. I want to grow, well…older with you by my side and I promise that I will always keep you safe from harm, no one will ever hurt you whilst I’m around, baby doll. "

Despite all your moods and your recklessness, I have remained here by your side and loved you all the same. I will face heaven and hell to keep you safe and you know good and well that I’ll win. I love you even when you don’t love yourself because I honestly think you’re the best thing since lamb rack. I want nothing more than to continue caring for you and to keep our dynamic going through the ages. I wish to develop a future with you, darling. Until the very end." He didn’t remember much after the fall. He remembered a burning sensation in his left arm, though not being able to move it the way he could with his right. That was before he was found by the Russians, before Zola had his hands back onto him, back before he turned him back into the weapon that he had now become. Something that made himself sick to his stomach when he could think about the horrors that he’d committed.
"I don’t understand.." He answered him, turning his hands in order to look down at the palm of his hands, his brows knitting together as he stared at both metal and flesh. "He…He was good, from what I read…He didn’t do anything bad," He said quietly, his fingers curling up into tight fists on his lap. "I wasn’t allowed…feelings are weaknesses…they distract you…"
If any small mercy was extended to Bucky, he’d never remember the fall. Or anything else that happened around that time. He didn’t need that hanging over his head. After reading and translating the files that Natasha had given him, Steve had been physically ill every time he thought about the things that had been done to his friend all because he hadn’t been fast enough to reach him before he fell. As glad as he was to have him back in his life, the way it had come about was almost not worth it, and as badly as it hurt, Steve almost wished Bucky had died in the fall. It would have saved him so much more pain and horror in his life.
Chuckling quietly, Steve just shook his head, chancing a half step closer to the other man. “Yeah, history tends to remember the good and leave out the bad, unless it was really bad,” he pointed out with another quiet chuckle. “He was no saint, though. Vices and faults and all the rest. Very human. And all that is in you somewhere. He was a good man, but he wasn’t perfect. And no one’s expecting you to be either.”
He remembered flashes of what happened, he remembered falling, remembered the cutting of flesh on his arm before they'd attached him to the metal arm, blacking in and out of consciousness as the pain overtook his senses. But, he didn't feel like telling the other that, not when he'd already seem some of the pity faces that the other was capable of giving to him. He didn't want to be pitied or for people to think that he wasn't capable of all that he'd been trained to do.
James didn't shift himself away as he watched the other draw closer to him, tilting his head up and taking a deep breath at the others words. "That..that exhibit will be taken down when they know what I've done..." He said quietly, looking over at Steve as his fingers curled up, digging into the palm of his hands. "He sounds better than I'll ever be."

But, his attention was soon diverted as he turned back to Nicole, eyes taking in every inch of her before metal fingers reached in order to wind around her own hand, bringing them closer together than before.
"Didn’t think you could look more beautiful, doll," He murmured to her quietly, ducking his head in order to press a gentle kiss to her knuckles.
"Forget about me. Look at you. Darling, you never cease to amaze me with how well you clean up." Nicole sighed, caressing his face. "I kinda wish you hadn’t shaved, I loved the little stubble."
The pastor cleared his throat loudly, subtly demanding the couples attention. “Can I start or do you two need a moment to admire each other?”
Darren and Diana chuckled, well aware of how unbearably fluffy the future Barnes couple could be.

Bucky held a higher respect as he saw his father in law wearing his own uniform, knowing that there was now three past serving men within uniform, two army and a marine, green having faded slightly with the passing of time, but still holding itself together like the say it was made.
He shifted slightly in his position as he couldn’t keep his eyes off of her, metal hand glinting in the sunlight of the beach, assuming she would have preferred it that way, what with her constant adoration for his metalwork.
When they finally reached the alter, Bucky dared himself to take a step closer, shaking his hand as he tried to express the gratitude of accepting Bucky in ways that his words would never be able to explain, even snapping a quick salute in his direction, his appearance only shifting with the lopsided grin that appeared directly afterwards.
Chase’s eyes glimmered with approval of his son in law for the first time ever, the look disappearing immediately. He couldn’t let the army lad think that things were going to be easy between them. Not in a lifetime, Chase would be watching the boy now more than ever. In laws are never to be kind no matter what.
Nicole watched the interaction between her father and Bucky with a tender smile, her veil rustling with the ocean breeze. She was angelic in appearance, dolled up in white and surrounded by joy.

He couldn’t help his fiddling as he stood at the end of the aisle, Steve next to his side as he was beginning to feel a bit confined by the uniform that he hadn’t worn formally in decades, the hat feeling heavy on his head once more as he looked back over towards the waves, taking deep breaths in order to calm himself down, a bit of nerves beginning to set into his system, the fact that Steve was laughing by his side wasn’t within his favour.
"Never seen you this nervous, jerk. Maybe she’ll have second thoughts about tyin’ herself down to you," He teased before grunting slightly at the punch Bucky landed on his arm, smirking slightly at the look that he received from the elder man.
"Fuck off."
"She’ll be here, Buck. I’m teasing you."
He smacked Steve hand away playfully when the other reached up to straighten the tulip that was pinned in his lapel, flicking the medal that was pinned to Steve’s chest.
"Shiny toy."
Darren parted the thin veil curtain to reveal the bride’s form finally, the woman descending down the aisle with her father as escort. Mutters could be heard from the few, in shock to see that Nicole’s parents were indeed alive.
Her father had insisted on wearing his uniform, the Marine colors held strong and true. The brim of his hat cast a shadow of privacy, masking what just might be tears in his eyes. He was giving his little girl away finally and he honestly wasn’t ready.
Nicole squeezed her father’s arm, reassuring him that everything would be okay. Her eyes moved forward, a smile on her lips as she admired her husband to be. They had gone through a lot but they were finally here, just in time for Becca to lay witness to the beautiful event. The Fury girl glided on air to the front altar, her dress trailing elegantly behind her.
Darren couldn’t stop smiling from where he was standing, exchanging looks with Diana who was trembling with joy. Her little girl had finally roped in a man and he was a great catch. Soldiers always were.
