Picture Above: Starting weight: 285, May 2011.
Reached my Current & UGW/ Summer 2012 of 145.
I am 24 years old and was overweight my whole life. I reached the 280s in graduate school. I knew that I was tired of being unhealthy, tired of not moving and experience life the way that I wanted to.
May 2011- I started a clean eating regime of 1200-1500 calories, and worked up to exercising 6 times a week. I would vary my exercise to keep from getting bored- Cardio 6 times a week, varying between elliptical, group classes (step, aerobics, zumba, etc), spinning, and running. I also strength trained 3 times a week.
May 2012- I completed my first half marathon with a time of 2:28:42. If you would have asked me a year before that, I never would have said that I could run 13.1 miles consistently.
June 30th 2012: total weight loss of 140 pounds.
My weight loss & my running has proved to me that you truly can accomplish whatever you put your mind to- you just need to have the resources, the willpower, and the motivation to get moving and find healthier sources for stressing.
My main goal now is toning- I have learned that the scale isn’t the most accurate measure, but to monitor body fat percentanage. I would like to lose 3-5% of body fat- but I am so happy to be this person I am today. At first I resented my curves, but I have grown to love them. I will never be a size 0- I have thighs, hips, and breasts and they haven’t gone anywhere after 140 pounds!
It’s not that I wasn’t happy or social when I was overweight, because I was- but losing weight has proved to me that it’s more than just fitting into my size 4 jeans, its about being your own kind of inspiration.

Sharee, you are honestly my biggest inspiration.
This mornings abs since its the first of march. Not flexing - flexing.
Plus I don’t have a muffin top in my size six jeans?! And my belt doesn’t even do its job anymore… It just hangs there. I’ve come a long way since last year!
when you get out of the attitude of ‘cant’ it will be easier to say no to foods. Because you will begin to realize that you could have that donut but you know that you do not need it. (Via ‘Hungry for Change’)
I’m not kidding, this concept changed my life a few months ago. I’ve eaten so mucher cleaner now that I stopped saying the word “Cannot” because I no longer feel restricted. Besides, that word shouldn’t be in anyone’s vocabulary: we can do anything we wish in the world, right!!! positivity ftw :)
A million times yes! Deprivation is bad, making a choice is good. It works.
YESTERDAY YOU SAID TODAY
Day 3
third day of 30 day shred completed . Well its getting easier i like to mix in some squat moves while im doing it . Also while i was cooking breakfast i did a few squats waiting on the food to simmer ^.^ i love when workouts start to get easier . I hope everyone is doing well and sticking to the plan remember the hardest thing is getting started stay determined everyone we can do this
. Another small watercolor drawing (continuing the earlier motivation-seeking comic) that was also turned into a gif! I wonder if you’ll spot the shadow of a murderer in a background. Well, I just told you it’s there so you will. A little annoying that a gif file can not exceed 500 kb, so I had to decrease its size quite a lot. But hey, it’s just a gif, right?
