jaheira seems unphased by the aftermath of gore, cleaning the blood from his skin and caring for him without batting an eye, scolding the others to let him have space - it spoke of much experience with the same from years back.

when she seems to have wish's attention, she continues with her speaking.

THERE  IS  NO  FEAR  when his old friend threatens him with a throttling  —  trusting that she would never do such a thing  ( and knowing now that she is not the dark figure who had been leading him down a dark path in the absolute’s name ).  and so he leans into her embrace,  popping boo into his pocket to avoid him getting squashed,  and lets his own muscular arms wrap about his friend.  he breathes her in,  the fragrances of herbs and grasses,  of warmth and familiarity.  he’s missed her,  too.

he's right - she's never been able to truly abandon her need to rescue them, no matter how foolish the idea was. she thinks quietly of their old adventures, of watching minsc tear open the bars of the cage that held her in those damn dungeons, and holds tighter to him for a moment.

she won't tell him he's right, however, and lets him pull back to hold the legendary boo up to say his piece to her. she holds her hand out for him, smiling despite herself at the familiar pair, before she sighs through her nose.
