My guide to scamming scam callers
My phone cant identify spam callers, so Id always pick up spam, and because I picked up they kept calling more, to the point where I had a call about every hour in the daytime. Heres how I got em to stop.
Identify what type of scam is calling you the most. Below is information on how to annoy credit card scammers specifically, I dont have any tested methods against car warranty scams.
Build a fake credit card number! Some scams are asking for a specific type of card, so make sure you build your fake profile properly. The first digit represents the company its under, 4 for Visa, 5 for Mastercard, and AmEx is 34 or 37. Then pick a random sequence of numbers to tack onto it, bringing your total to 16 digits. Finally, run your number through this validator, and if needed, change the last value of your number to what it says to be valid. Your fake credit card is complete!
Make up a reasonable number for your expiration date, cvc, average income, and account balance in checking and savings, but theres no trick here, they just need to sound real because they do ask for this information.
Pick some 1800 numbers. Heres what we scam back with. When they run the card through their system, it wont work, so play dumb and say that theres a phone number on the back they can try calling, and give them the number you decide. Here are some of my favorites.
800-733-2868 Phone Sex Hotline, this is my go to, I highly recommend
877-382-4357 FCC Scam Hotline,
1800-265-5328 Caller Collect! Costs $10.23 for every minute they're on the line.
These are all American numbers, so adjust if you're out of the states
I first did these out of spite, and at first, calls picked up for me, but after about a month of doing this, I stopped getting calls from that particular scam.
