Does anyone have or can make a knitting pattern of Halt, so then I can make my sister knit me a Halt doll. She said if I can somehow find a pattern for him she said she will make my Halt.

I don't know anything about knitting, but your best bet is probably to find a pattern for each separate part of the doll (body, hair, clothes, etc) and put them together. A lot of the stuff for my Halt doll was just different sized rectangles sewn together, which would probably translate well to knitting. So you might be able to find a pattern for just a blank doll body and recreate what I did from there

You could also find a pattern for a similar character and change it slightly, like giving Legolas short dark hair and a beard

Happy Halloween @solarishashernoseinabook! Here's my best approximation of the formal Ranger uniform. There is totally a back to these clothes and not just a mess of bobby pins and knots.

I’ve never played the game but my girlfriend is apparently willing to commit atrocities on his behalf, so I made her this as a Christmas gift

so Halt dropped Will off at the Redmont ward with a handwritten note. most likely, when Will was found, they showed Arald the note.

now my question is: did Halt purposely butcher his handwriting or not? if so, did Arald recognise the handwriting and confronted Halt? did he wait for him? was Pauline involved???

Of course, Horace would think it was illegitimate until years later when Halt reveals his royal status to give Horace an existential crisis.

Okay final update on the Autistic!Halt fic fest

So the poll is over and the majority of people don't want a fic exchange, so a straight collection it'll be! Here's how it'll work:

I'll create a collection on AO3 and people will submit their fics there. Obviously feel free to gift them to people if you so choose :3

I'll be accepting suggestions for prompts for the next week! Send asks or DMs here or on Discord and I'll post them next Tuesday, August 21st. These prompts are not exclusive, so as many people can use any prompt or any combination of prompts as they like!

To give a fair amount of time to get something written after that, the collection will be revealed one month after the prompts go live, which will be Thursday, September 21st. This is a busy time of year for a lot of people, with many people returning to school, so this should give everyone a good amount of time to turn something in

There is no limit on how long or short your fic is

Stories can be about anything, but Halt's autism must be a factor in the stories or be noticeable in some way. Feel free to have fun with it, give him whatever stims or boundaries you like <3

One grouchy father figure, as requested (plus my cat who wanted to be included). The beard was tricky but he looked like an emo preteen without it. Pattern stuff for Halt is below.

This is probably not very helpful, I've never made one of these before and don't really know what to put. Please let me know if something is confusing!

4.25 mm hook, weight 4 yarn, 9 mm safety eyes.

I used this tutorial for the body, minus the wig cap.

Beard:

Ch 13

Row 1: 12sc

Row 2: 4 slst, ch 4, slst in last 4 (to make a little gap)

Take a long strand of grey yarn and weave it randomly in and out to get the speckles.

Pants:

Ch 14, slst into a ring. Hdc around until the desired length (the photo has 5 rows). Make another one. Mimic tutorial to join and make the waist potion.

Shirt:

Ch 10, 5 rows of Hdc. Make another. Sew the two squares together, leaving 2 rows unconnected. I use the tails to tie the tops together. Hdc in the ring to make sleeves, I end up with about 9 stitches. Hdc around until desired length (picture has 3 rows)

Cloak:

Ch 23

Rows 1-13: Hdc across.

Tie two corners together.

Hair is strands of single crochet glued down. I recommend using bobby pins to mess with the placement before gluing and leaving this for last. Most of the strands are 14 stitches long, getting slightly shorter or longer depending on where they are on the head.
