George Barnes, Chicago, 1941.
Composer, arranger, Jazz/blues/country guitar legend George Barnes stands outside the Chelsea Hotel where he lives. At only 19, he has been a national radio star for 2 years.
Back in 1938, a 16 year old George recorded with country blues artist Big Bill Broonzy, becoming the first musician to record an electric guitar.
That there is Big Bill Broonzy featured on the highly suspicious poster plastered on the wall behind George.

Deconstructing Rocky
The Rocky Horror Picture Show seems to be a mashup of a classic but obscure Hitchcock film with a classic but obscure episode of “The Outer Limits”. Add in the Frankenstein and Dracula stories, some fantastic original music, amazing art direction, a little cross dressing, and a cast led by Tim Curry, and you’ve got the greatest cult film of all time.

Staring: Vera Miles Barbara Rush David McCallum Sir Cedric Hardwicke Scott Marlowe
.
Joseph Stephano wrote the screenplay for Hitchcock’s “Psycho” (1960) based on the Robert Bloch novel.
Conrad Hall went on to be nominated for 10 Academy Awards for Best Cinematography, winning 3 times. He is considered one of the most influential cinematographers of all time.
Vera Miles was a famous Hitchcock girl. She starred in Hitchcock’s “Psycho” (1960) as well as Season 1, Ep 1 of the TV anthology show “Alfred Hitchcock Presents”.
Barbara Rush starred in both “When Worlds Collide” (1951) and “It Came from Outer Space” (1953). She was also the villainess Nora Clavicle on the Batman TV show from the 60’s.
David McCallum is best known for his portrayal of Illya Kuryakin in the TV Series “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” (1964~1968). MST3K fans will fondly remember him from Master Ninja II.
Sir Cedric Hardwicke made his name performing in George Bernard Shaw plays. Shaw called him his 5th favorite actor, behind the 4 Marx Brothers. Sir Cedric was in great demand in the early days of film, appearing in such classics as “The Invisible Man Returns” (1940) and “The Ghost of Frankenstein” (1942), as well as Hitchcock’s “Suspicion” (1941) and "Rope" (1948). Sadly, this appearance in FoTU was his final role.
