Pupa Project is a visual novel that has one set ending. Lepidoptera Lunatic Asylum opens its gates to you, beckoning you inside to come and pick up the pieces of splintered minds. Our story begins one year after Blythe Waldrop had been admitted to the asylum. Between navigating the harsh conditions of a Victorian institution, and learning what it means to truly heal, you will help Blythe understand what it means to be free.
While this story only has one ending, the choices you help Blythe make just might restore the fragments you need to piece together the whole picture. So choose carefully, it’s time to see the world through her eyes.

Blythe Waldrop // Age: 11 // Date of Birth: 13/06/18XX // Date of Admission: 23/12/18XX
The youngest patient in the asylum! 🦋🍓
Initial Intake Notes:
// Blythe Waldrop, Age 10, was surrendered to Lepidoptera Lunatic Asylum by parents Julius Waldrop and Daphne Waldrop after both a family physician and father signed off on the admittance.
During admittance, Waldrop appeared to be nearly completely detached from reality. She could barely move, exhibiting clear signs of a catatonic state. Waldrop had to be manually positioned when disrobed, studied for identifying physical traits, and washed before her intake assessment. Waldrop, while unable to emote expressively, began to cry as her hair was cut for hygienic purposes. [Noted by Nurse Cassandra Beechworth]
During the initial intake, Waldrop expressed a severe lack of awareness of her surroundings. Any questions were replied with the phrase “They were going to hurt me.” Nurse Cassandra Beechworth reported her repeating the same phrase all throughout her admittance and preparation.
The documents regarding her past assessments and care performed by her family’s physicians have been essential in understanding Waldrop’s mental state, as attempts to question her directly have proven impossible.
Documented symptoms:
— Severe Hallucinations
— Delusional thought process
— History of violent outbursts
— Disregard for rules and expectations
— Disinterest in socializing
— Blunted range of emotions and expressions
— Impaired cognitive functions
— Inappropriate proclivity for insects which inhibits participation in society
Diagnosis: Dementia Praecox
Intervention and correction is to take place immediately. — Samuel Montague
Henrietta Vivian Davis // Age: 18 // Date of Birth: 28/07/18XX // Date of Admission: 04/05/18XX
The rowdiest patient in the asylum! 🍴⚖️
Initial Intake Notes:
// Henrietta Vivian Davis, Age 16, was surrendered to Lepidoptera Lunatic Asylum by court order.
During her drop off and admittance, Davis clearly exhibited a wide array of symptoms pertaining to general madness. She would speak without being spoken to, constantly begin to move without permission to do so, and would laugh periodically to herself. However, when it came time for a full physical examination and bath, Henrietta immediately flipped into a violent and aggressive state. She had injured two staff members, both male, and was forcibly restrained to remove her clothings. As she was disrobed, she began to “scream at the top of her lungs,” as well as cry hysterically, flinching and convulsing at every movement. [Noted by Nurse Cassandra Beechworth]
During initial intake, Davis had to be strapped down to the restraint chair in order to perform an assessment. Davis would only answer questions with obscenities before requesting a woman ask her the questions instead. Though not traditionally practiced, the clipboard was handed off to Nurse Cassandra Beechworth to perform the mental exam.
Documented symptoms:
— Excessive, nonsensical, and inappropriate speech
— Disorganized manner of conversing
— Severe agression towards those of the male sex
— Severe agitation and excitability
— Lack of a full attention span
— Aversion to speaking of the events that drove her to murder (Though she seemed to exhibit a sense of pride when talking about the attempted crime itself. — Nurse Cassandra Beechworth)
Diagnosis: Female Hysteria
Intervention and correction is to take place immediately. — Samuel Montague
Amaryllis Cook // Age: 35 // Date of Birth: 31/10/18XX // Date of Admission: 17/09/18XX
The gloomiest patient in the asylum! 🕸️🪡
Initial Intake Notes:
// Amaryllis Cook, Age 33, was surrender to Lepidoptera Lunatic Asylum by husband Norman Cook after he and her physician (Dr. Samuel Montague) signed off on the admittance.
During admittance, Cook exhibited an egregious amount of self-depreciation. The only sounds she made in between frantic declarations of “deserving death” were that of crying and wailing. [Noted by Nurse Cassandra Beechworth] She would attempt to hit at herself and pull on her hair in distress, and proved challenging to compromise with. When disrobed for her physical assessment, she was revealed to be covered in scars (Arms, thighs, and stomach) all of which were at different stages of healing. Norman Cook had informed her physician that she had attempted to take her own life by severing crucial arteries, which coincided with her physician’s own findings surrounding her mentality. According to Mr. Cook, his wife had always struggled with fluctuating moods, but what seemed to push her to the “point of no return” was losing her child during its birth a year prior.
During initial intake, Cook expressed remorse for “all she has done,” and asked politely if there was any way she could be put to death for her actions. When informed that she was admitted to Lepidoptera Lunatic Asylum with the hopes of recovery and stability, she began to break down again. Questions proved difficult to gather answers to from this point forward.
Documented symptoms:
— Excessive crying
— Severe mental duress and repeated episodes of a depressive mood in between seemingly normal life
— Self-injury
— Lack of regard for appearance
- Lack of motivation
— Inability to take care of daily chores
Diagnosis: Melancholia
Intervention and correction is to take place immediately. — Samuel Montague
Elisabeth Thomas Phillipps // Age: 23 // Date of Birth: 04/01/18XX // Date of Admission: 08/10/18XX
The gentlest patient in the asylum! 📕🪲
Initial Intake Notes:
// Elisabeth Phillipps, Age 19, was surrendered to Lepidoptera Lunatic Asylum of her own accord. She had come to the asylum with parents Alfred Phillipps and Eliza Phillipps requesting her own admittance. This admittance was approved once a physician and her father signed off on it.
During her admittance, both her parents and herself referred to Phillipps as a male. However, when asked to disrobe to be studied for identifying physical traits and then bathed, she began to question the authorities around her. She remarked “is this really necessary?” Which was responded to professionally. [Noted by Nurse Cassandra Beechworth] Not wanting to have her garments removed with force, Phillipps followed the procedure. When stripped of her shirt, she was wearing bandages tightly wrapped around her chest. She also had surface level scars on her forearms. When asked if she was injured, she replied with a shaky “no.” She removed the bandages to reveal that, up until that point, she was being deceitful, and instead of being placed in the male ward as planned, she was written off to reside in the ward of her actual nature.
With the information that Phillipps was actually a woman, her physician was changed from the leading male physician to the leading female physician (Dr. Samuel Montague.)
During initial intake, Phillipps was mild mannered yet very skittish. She expressed deeply concerning thoughts and the abnormal actions she’d partake in to relieve them, which lead to her seeking supervision within the asylum, as she was scared she’d hurt herself and others. When questioned as to why she had been deceitful about her personhood, she explained that she was, indeed, a “man,” but her body “did not reflect that.”
Documented symptoms:
— Severe delusional thought process
— Increased paranoia
— Obsessions with alarming topics
— Inappropriate, compulsive behaviors to soothe oneself that inhibit participation in society
— Severe anxiety and agitation around others
— Perverted sense of self
Diagnosis: Mono-Mania, Gender-related Insanity
Intervention and correction is to take place immediately. — Samuel Montague

Eugene-Albert [GRYLLIDAE] // Age: 25 // Date of Birth: I FORGOT!!! // Date of Admission: doesn’tmatterDOESN’T MATTERdoesn’tmatter!!
The craziest patient out of the asylum! ⚙️🦗
Initial Intake Notes:
// Eugene-Albert [GRYLLIDAE], Age 18, was surrendered to Lepidoptera Lunatic Asylum by the authorities. He had been handed over to the asylum staff after being jailed overnight for indecent and alarming conduct in the city square. The admittance was permitted by both his family and the superintendent (Dr. Harrison Montague.)
During admittance, [GRYLLIDAE] was proven to be apprehended quite roughly. He did not fight or oppose any attempts to disrobe him for noting down identifying physical traits and bathing, however, he appeared to convulse and twitch periodically. It was apparently uncontrollable as he seemed to be very out of touch with his surroundings and own form. [Noted by a male attendant] After being cleaned, [GRYLLIDAE]’s wounds were tended to and he was ushered to the infirmary to recover by wheelchair.
During initial intake, performed after [GRYLLIDAE]’s vitals were deemed stable, [GRYLLIDAE] proved to be completely detached from reality. He would answer questions with ludicrous exclamations, twitching and fidgeting near constantly, and shouting out his words or unrelated ones at random. He expressed ideas and desires to “take apart” society, proving to be a dangerous individual. He noted hearing wonderful melodies and, at one point, asked why the clock in the room was ticking so loud, despite no clocks being present. [GRYLLIDAE] has no bearing of the real world, and thus, he will remain in Lepidoptera Asylum’s care until full rehabilitation is achieved.
Documented Symptoms:
— Persistent hallucinations
— Severe delusional thought process
— Disregard for rules and societal expectations
— Grandiose sense of self
— Uncontrollable convulsions
— Chaotic fluctuations in mood
— Inappropriate disposition and responses in socializing
— Impaired cognitive function
— Proclivity for machinery and breaking objects which inhibits participation in society

“Lepidoptera Lunatic Asylum prides itself on reshaping misfortunate minds and progressing humanity’s understanding of the inner psyche. Here in Lepidoptera, we ensure to rehabilitate those thought to be broken beyond repair. And if reintroduction into society will not work, they will be safe and happy in our helping hands.”
Pupa Project is a personal oc project that I have been working on for a bit now. Originally starting from the creation of the main character in the series, Blythe Waldrop, I grew increasingly attached to her story, themes, and universe. Because of how much this project means to me, I plan to at least attempt to make Pupa Project into a visual novel. Pupa Project is my means of regaining control on an often ill-portrayed narrative. Growing up schizophrenic, I have acquired many opinions, thoughts, ideas, and experiences I feel many may have not even considered. Pupa Project is my love letter not just to my fellow psychotic people, but I think, most importantly, to the child me that didn’t think they’d ever recover.
Disclaimer: All character developments and scenes are mostly inspired by my lived experience. Please understand that everything is a spectrum and this project is solely based on symptoms I have dealt with personally. Some things may also be historically inaccurate for the time period in favor of telling a story! (original version of this post can be found -> here!)
Blythe Waldrop — Age: 11 — The youngest patient in the asylum!
Blythe Waldrop is a truly remarkable little girl! From a young age, she understood very well that she was different. Often times at social events, she would be picked on or teased until eventually other kids started avoiding her all together! She spoke oddly to them, lacked cheerful smiles or bratty frowns, and was content watching ants march around her feet carrying crumbs of cake instead of playing. She often told her mother and father of things she heard and saw, to which they believed to be just part of an active imagination. However, at one such important social gathering displaying her mother’s newest art collection, Blythe became completely untethered from reality and was tormented by visions and beliefs unfit for a productive member of society. In her wake, she had torn apart the art pieces she believed to be watching her, taunting her, and made quite a scene in front of her family’s high-society friends. As you can imagine, this did not go over well with her dear mother and father.
Now at Lepidoptera Asylum, Blythe remains aloof (when she’s not having outbursts.) Doctor after doctor have tried to treat her, but to no avail. The other patients don’t look her way, some out of fear and some out of disinterest. They wonder if she even feels… How does someone so young end up so mad?
Henrietta Vivian Davis — Age: 18 — The liveliest patient in the asylum!
Henrietta is an energetic force! In young adolescence, Henrietta proved to be very opinionated, very sociable, to the point where it was hard to keep her ‘on track.’ Coming from a very wealthy family, there were expectations for the young girl. She must hold her tongue, she must be polite and demure, however, no matter how hard she tried, these things did not come naturally to her. Worrying for their daughter’s future, Henrietta was arranged to be married to a much older man at the age of 17. Henrietta fought this tooth and nail, but there was nothing she could do. While in her fiancé’s company, he would prove to be very… forceful. As the days got closer to their wedding ceremony, and his touchiness seemed to get worse, Henrietta decided there was only one way out. Having vast knowledge of medieval torture methods and historical assassinations, Henrietta got the idea to poison his drink while at a family dinner. This plan ultimately failed, and when it was discovered that Henrietta had attempted to kill him, the courts ruled that she was criminally insane. She was sent to Lepidoptera Asylum by court order.
In the asylum, she seems to be overjoyed! She speaks to anyone who will listen, wanders around gleefully, and is happy to be far away from her family and ex-fiancé. The only thing that causes her agitation is when male staff or patients approach her. She has a tendency to lash out should they get too close.
Thomas Phillipps — Age: 23 — The gentlest patient in the asylum!
Thomas has always been sure of two things: 1) Who he is, and 2) The world is dangerous and completely unpredictable. As a child, Thomas expressed many worries and had peculiar habits to soothe his overthinking. In social settings, he always had great discomfort in how he was supposed to dress and act and speak. Noticing these patterns, his mother and father asked him one day what would make him happy. Finally being given some control over his own life, Thomas expressed his desire to be seen as male, and his family helped him from then on out. Thomas’ father taught him many things, mostly everything to do with blacksmithing. However, as he grew, his worries grew with him. Intrusive thoughts paralyzed him and made him severely anxious around sharp tools. The what ifs swirled in his head and he grew increasingly troubled by such obsessive thoughts. To make matters worse, rumors of Thomas being born a female started to circulate in their well-off community. Paranoid that his parents might take the brunt of such accusations, and his anxieties keeping him from being able to defend them, Thomas sought out medical treatment for his obsessions and compulsions and was ultimately recommended to Lepidoptera.
Once he got settled into the asylum, Thomas feels a tad more at ease. He figures that if anything were to happen, he is away from the public and he cannot harm them. The only downside is that doctors and nurses insist his identity is also the product of insanity. He strongly disagrees and stands his ground in that regard.
Amaryllis Cook — Age: 35 — The delicatest patient in the asylum!
Amaryllis is a very warm soul! That’s why it is such a shame her mind has become something that torments her. She hadn’t been like this in her past. No, as a child and young woman, Amaryllis was bright and cheerful. She was incredibly skilled with needlework, happily married to her husband, and they lived in the perfect home where they wanted to raise children. There was just one problem, one the happy couple couldn’t possibly have known. Amaryllis couldn’t have children. They had tried to conceive multiple times, only for it to end in devastation. With each failed attempt, Amaryllis felt herself slipping further and further into the dark. The last strike was when they finally did conceive, but the child had died in the birthing process. This was the last straw. Amaryllis became inconsolable, maddened by grief and guilt and disappointment. Her husband tried to be her rock, but even he could not keep her safe from herself. He had taken her to see a doctor, and at the doctor’s suggestion, he admitted her to Lepidoptera Asylum.
In the asylum, Amaryllis is one of the more rowdy patients. She lashes out in hysterical, crying fits, making every attempt to “punish” herself for what she believes is her fault. Her depressive state only worsened when she realized her husband was not coming to visit her. Because of the danger she poses to herself, she is usually kept calm with newfound sedatives.
Doctor Laurence Caldwell — Age: 46 — The newest doctor in the asylum!
Not much is known about Dr. Caldwell, and he prefers to keep it that way. A man of mysterious origin, he has been recently hired at Lepidoptera Asylum and has big plans for progress. Dr. Caldwell is unlike most doctors of his time, mild mannered and pragmatic, he is immensely trustworthy both in the eyes of patients and fellow staff. He has quite odd social habits, often fidgety and preoccupied with his own theories, making for a poor conversationalist. Perhaps this is why his patients take to him so well. He believes that the path to recovery is much more… humane… than many others would think.
Doctor Samuel Montague — Age: 32 — The smartest doctor in the asylum!
Dr. Montague comes from a long line of accomplished doctors, his father being Lepidoptera’s Superintendent! That is why it is imperative that he succeed and continue the line of genius. Creative with his treatment methods, Dr. Montague feels he must push the medical bounds in order to strive for great success. No one ever got what they wanted by being temperate and docile. Many of the general public favor his ideas, the patients themselves… not so much… but what do they know?
Nurse Cassandra Beechworth — Age: 26 — The strictest nurse in the asylum!
Nurse Cassandra worked hard for her position! She had admired Dr. Montague’s work when she saw him in action during her studies, and vowed to do what she must in order to progress humanity’s understanding of the brain. Once hired to be a nurse in Lepidoptera, she swiftly made a name for herself among patients. Her temper is fiery and her patience is thin, and when a patient strays from the correct path, she is there to guide them back.
Mister Eugene-Albert Gryllidae! — Age: 25! — Free as a bird!
AHHH THANK YOU FOR THE ASK IM SORRY I JUST SAW THIS!!!!
My favorite chapters in Fran Bow are Chapter 1: My Sober Day and Chapter 4, Part one: My Imaginary Friend!!
I am really attached to the aesthetics of the asylum in the first chapter, when I first discovered the game I was immediately hooked and drawn in by the tone the game had set!
And of course, I love when Itward appears!! He’s a big big inspiration for Mr. Gryllidae in my Pupa Project! I even have an Easter egg in the first chapter nodding at the character!! ><
Thank you so much for the ask it means a lot!! >< 💓🐛
SNAREverse is my own Slenderverse all made up of original characters!
Inez Apolline is a good girl. She is sure of it. Straight A’s, church goer, rule follower, the first to volunteer for anything if it means bettering her community.
Inez Apolline is a gentle girl, truly gold-hearted. And maybe that is why she finds herself easily stepped on and manipulated by her peers. She tries hard. But it’s never enough.
Inez Apolline is a rotten child. She makes up perverted lies for attention! She is ungrateful! And ungratefulness will not be tolerated in this household!
Inez Apolline is missing.
She is a good girl. He is sure of it.
✄┈┈┈┈
SNAREverse is a slenderverse I’ve come up with for the only purpose of making ocs and having fun! I wanted to make a completely original slenderverse with a cast of completely original characters so I could have complete control over how their narratives and lore work! This post is basically just me keeping track of everything I make for it :)

This universe is haunted by a figure known as the “Arbremann.” Skinny, spindly twigs and branches intertwine together to form his body, roots acting as veins, and a “face” (or lack thereof) comprised of animal and human bone that had sunk into the soil of the forest long ago.
The Arbremann lies in dormancy. For short periods of time he can manifest on the edges of the forest, but he can never leave. Not yet.
The Arbremann communicates through invasion. He invades your brain, your thoughts, through static or electronics or dreams. He imbeds roots to take hold. He is connected to everything. His methods of contact are violent, often resulting in physical symptoms like coughing up black ichor, fainting, nose bleeds, tremors, and drops in body temperature, among other things. Every person contacted by the Arbremann, has a violent, destructive reaction, which is unhelpful for the duties he needs completed. It is for that reason that after initial contact, one is to listen to all orders given by his envoys, they know the mission and will instruct you accordingly.
✄┈┈┈┈
Inez Apolline is special.
The Arbremann has a hard time communicating with humans, but not with her.
For some reason, Inez Apolline has the ability to communicate clearly and directly with the figure without all of the adverse side effects. Perhaps it is because, like him, she is isolated from everyone around her. No one understands them, so perhaps, they have each other. Or… whatever that means for an entity of vague morals and no humanity.
He may lie dormant for now, but with her help, should she choose, he will once again manifest to his full power. For better or worse…

Personal note!
This au is one of my favorite things because Inez is the embodiment of what I wished for as a kid growing up with creepypasta characters. Inez is the main character, she is saved from an abusive household, saved from being tormented in school, and is whisked away into a world where everyone goes to great lengths to protect her. Supernatural entities, murderers, people of questionable moral standing, all now work in her favor because she is the chosen one. This is just a self indulgent universe where I pack all the clichés of Y/N creepypasta stories I grew up reading into one universe!
I’m ripping off a lot of what Inez was supposed to be in our hifthverse and implementing it into this original universe of mine (I’ve been dubbing “snareverse”) (rip hifth I love that au) and replacing canon pastas with ocs which arguably I’m able to make a better story with them because a character like Lazare would not exist.
Lazare started off as the BEN replacement. He’s the tech resource, in charge of scrubbing names and faces from databases, handling communications, stuff like that. He’s only 16, 1.5 years older than Inez. He comes from a very abusive, neglectful household and no one in the house really cares about him enough to realize he’s basically intel for a supernatural crime ring. When he gets word that Inez will be joining them, he’s immediately intrigued because finally someone his age is in the mix. He plays off his curiosity of her as intent to manipulate her, but he really just wants to be with the only other person his age. She’s his only reprieve from literally everything around him, both the organization and his family.
I think something I really love about Inez is she is playing the part of every kid growing up with creepypasta’s dream. She comes from an abusive household and is whisked away into a world where she is the main character and all of these forces are going at great lengths to protect her. And because of this, I want to play into the cliches of creepypasta fanfics I grew up with. Inez is saved and brought to the “mansion,” which in this world is not a place where they all live together, but an organization spread across the neighboring towns/cities. In this new world, she learns the ins and outs of the organization as well as learns that she’s the chosen one, Slenderman’s promised child, who can hear and interact with him clearly, who will be able to release him from his stasis. Along the way, the sarcastic bad boy of the group develops feelings for her, standing up for her and going from a bit of a bully to someone fiercely loyal to her. The Slenderman’s intentions are not clear, and because of that, as time goes on, Inez contemplates if she really wants to help release him, or destroy him.
