Finn: Yeah, it was a good night for me. Brittany made me dance with her, but I was half drunk anyway so it was fine. What made yours messy?

Tina: You don't need to do that. Although I wouldn't mind being entertained when it gets quiet.

Tina: That's good! Oh, not that much really. I just got caught up in silly, tiny drama but most of it didn't involve me anyway. It just ended up being sort of an emotional night.

Tina: Hey Sam! I'm doing pretty great.

Tina: Yeah, it is! I'm pretty excited about it. It's the first time I've gotten to write for something that's sort of mainstream.

Mike: I know, I feel like I knew most of her close friends, but then again you guys didn't know each other back when we dated.

Mike: But then I'm a bit surprised it didn't appear on some of my socials.. Though some of our common friends did tell me she started dating someone at college.

Mike: Wow, was it a whole good thing or a whole bad-ish thing?

Tina: Yeah, that's true. I did hear about you though, but there's a lot of people called Mike, haha.

Tina: I'm pretty sure she dated others than me later, but I tried not to get too involved with that.

Tina: Both? She was great, it was mostly my fault that we didn't end up dating longer.

Tina: So you guys were kinda like high school sweethearts, huh?

Finn: Yeah, I think it's pretty much over now since everyone went back to work and everything.

Finn: Not totally gone 'cause people are always gonna be here, but it's not the same level as a couple weeks ago. But it's like, we're all gonna complain about not having anything to do when it's quiet so that's funny.

Tina: Oh, for sure. The contrast between the holidays and this month is always very stark. I'm definitely going to be one of those who complains 😂

Tina: Did your New Year's Eve turn out okay? It was kind of a messy night.

Oh!  I didn’t realize that you had a degree in journalism.  You are so good at your job here at the resort that I figured you had to have a degree in hospitality or event management.  

What has been your favorite thing to write so far?

That’s very nice of you to say, I appreciate that! If I was even remotely interested in going back to school, I would consider doing that because this job has been treating me well. 

I love writing anything that delves into feministic topics or gender issues because I get so passionate about it. So, anything that’s been related to that, as well as pop culture. I did get to combine both once, and I was very proud of that article. What about you, though? Do you have anything similar going on?

Thank you. Yeah, I really liked poetry when I was a kid and I ended up majoring in journalism in college, and I’ve been freelancing as a journalist for a while. I don’t write poetry as much as I used to, now that the freelancing is kind of taking over my life.

Mercy: I haven't spoken to him since New Years, its been pretty awkward and thats mostly because I think I misread things. I thought that he liked me but maybe he just wanted to kiss as many girls as he could.

Tina: But what do I know, I haven't gotten to know him that well yet.

Tina: Did anything go down at New Year's after we talked?

Probably not a big deal to any of you, but I got one of my pitches to BuzzFeed Longform approved, which means I will be writing an article that will be published on BuzzFeed! This is by far the biggest publication/media platform I’ve gotten to write for, so I’m pretty stoked about it. Maybe this year won’t turn out so bad after all.

Finally, I have some time off this afternoon and tomorrow morning and I really can’t wait to relax. Things have been insane at the resort, I feel like I haven’t had time to myself since the New Year. How’s everyone else’s week going so far? 2021 starting off busy as hell for you guys too?

I agree, the amount of check-outs happening now that the holidays are overwhelming as always, and now that there aren’t as many working with me this time around, I’ve been doing pretty much everything. Was it okay for you though, considering it’s your first post-holiday rush?
