Oh good. I guess not good for the cleaning staff, but good for you. I don’t think this place gets the rowdy guest type anyway.
Yeah, I get the good side of it. I’ve noticed that. Just mostly people who never fixed things in their life or the occasional rich kid who leaves a mess.

I got up to date with The Mandalorian and Im watching something thats kinda old, but still super cool called Spartacus. The blood is so totally fake, but the action is awesome.
I have to still watch season 2, what’d you think of it? I heard some mixed stuff about the beginning but I heard it picked up towards the end. Spartacus, is that like some gladiator show?

Okay, point taken - But if it was me, and I had the choice of whether to know or not I think my curiosity would often win. But I might end up regretting it.
I get you. Sometimes curiosity gets the best of people. I really assume most of the stuff happened from drunk accidents or people who don’t know how things work.

Yeah it’s totally one of those double edged sword things. Have you ever had like, a completely trashed room where you have to fix everything in it?
Nah, I get lucky in that sense. Usually the cleaning staff gets to it first and if things are really bad, we just replace them like lamps and stuff.

I agree, the amount of check-outs happening now that the holidays are overwhelming as always, and now that there aren’t as many working with me this time around, I’ve been doing pretty much everything. Was it okay for you though, considering it’s your first post-holiday rush?
I don’t know how you do it all and with a smile. It wasn’t too bad. I wish I had little more of a heads up on how nuts it was going to be but I got through it. Nothing I couldn’t fix!

Exactly Ryder! Well I guess it just leaves a little extra for the imagination. I assume it would be more entertaining to be a handyman, if you were always told how things broke.
Sometimes I don’t even think I wanna know. Ignorance is bliss as the saying goes, you know?

Did you get up to anything cool on your time off? Aside from hitting up the gym I’ve been pretty chilled out, loads of tv time.
Yeah, I got to hang out a little with Sugar which was awesome. Anything good you’re watching? I could use a new show.

Next week is going to be busier for me, I think, because I’m going to have longer lesson days. But… then again it’s like, one of those weeks after a vacation where people decide to take their kids on a vacation so things have been pretty consistent, I guess? What’s the weirdest call you’ve gotten so far?
Hopefully you get some breaks in this week and it’s not too hectic. I’m figuring it’ll be pretty much like this until the season ends. The weirdest was probably the call I got on New Year’s Day to go to some woman’s room who complained her bed was broken. She wasn’t wearing anything when she opened her room door and it was pretty obvious there was nothing wrong in her room so I nope’d out of there really quick.

Totally not just you. I’d be willing to bet everyone’s feeling it too. And it’s not that I don’t like full classes and stuff, but sometimes it’s …difficult. That’s a way to put it. Dude, I can’t imagine how many dumb calls you get. I see how they act on the slopes so I bet in their rooms it’s way worse.
It’s gotta be tough giving people the attention they need in lessons if it’s a packed class but, I guess on the flip, at least there’s people taking classes! Oh, dude, too many. It’s like some of these people forget common decency around here and it doesn’t matter what they do or break because someone will be there to pick up the pieces.

It sure did. I have to admit I was pretty beat up myself, but it always helps getting out into the fresh air. Wow okay, I’m not sure whether I would want to know how they did that or not.
Nothing like the crisp mountain air to get you in the right mindset. If I even knew how, I’d let you know. I just get stuck with the aftermath.

No I’m not doing anything, breakfast sounds good. What time do you have to be at work?
Cool. Around 2:00 I should probably at least check my messages and make sure nothing has exploded or something.

Dude, it feels like it’s peak season every single day since we got here with no end in sight. Now that the holidays are over, it’ll start to die down and the down time’s gonna be awesome.
So I’m not the only one feeling like these work days are endless? Man, I can’t wait for everyone to start going back home. It’ll be nice to not get a call to fix something that was broken because someone was being a dumbass.

I’m still out on the mountain, but I did a little snowboarding myself. Were you busy de-holiday-ing the resort?
That’s awesome you were able to get some time in on the slopes for yourself. I was. The resort drunks really did a number on things. Woke up New Years Day to a fence that needed to be repaired and a lot of broken furniture in the chalets. Seems some people really went overboard with the drinking.

I think everyone was nursing a hangover and then some for the first couple of days as the slopes and therefore the need for SAR and First Aid was relatively quiet. And I suspect most of the holiday guests have found their way home now.
Yeah, Mike was telling me that the slopes were pretty dead after NYE. Did you spend the downtime doing anything cool?

I don’t. I was thinking of just relaxing. Are you doing anything or would you maybe wanna hang out and grab breakfast or something?

I know that feeling – I mean the slopes weren’t that busy the first couple of days after New Year’s since I guess a lot of the guests were hungover, but there’s always something to do. Hope there wasn’t too much to fix the day after New Year’s eve?
That’s sounds pretty awesome for you. Probably gave you more free time to snowboard on your own! Some people drank a bit too much and broke one of the fences outside so it’s been a lot.
