Albus Severus Potter enjoyed being alone, in fact he enjoyed being alone so much that he often went out of his way to find solitude. At Hogwarts it had been easy, he could just pull out the maurader’s map and find a quiet location within minutes. Silvestris was more of a challenge, without the map- he had to do a lot more searching. But he didn’t mind having to put in the extra time, the silence was definitely worth it.
On that particular day, however, he had given up on his search- settling for one of the popular window seats. The normally spectacular view had been replaced by the dismal overcast of the outside, leaving many of the seats open. He didn’t care about the weather though, in fact he kind of liked it.
When he first heard the voice, Albus made the conscious decision to ignore whoever it was as he turned the page in his book. He wasn’t in the mood to talk, not that he ever felt like talking. And surely whoever it was would realize that sooner or later. Or so he thought. When it became clear that they weren’t going to leave him alone, Albus closed his book- allowing a small sigh to escape from his lips as he lifted his head to stare at his sister. “Sure,” he responded with a nod as he reached out to take the chocolate, a small smile appearing on his face.
“Now why would I want to reveal my hiding places? They’re called hiding places for a reason,” he said with a laugh as he looked up at his sister, “I’ve been busy with my school work,” he offered as a further explanation as to his whereabouts the past couple of weeks.
“See, you can’t ignore me.” Lily pointed out with a triumphed smiled. Surely her brother could try but she was as stubborn as he was talented at ignoring. It would have been a battle to end all battles. Besides, sometimes she did just like talking to her brothers. It reminded her of home sometimes when she felt small pangs of homesickness. “But to be honest I just brought the chocolate as a bribe, just in case.”
Lily shrugged. “I bet you I could find them if I tried hard enough.” There were only so many places one could get into. “But...” She flopped down on the seat next to the rain soaked window. “Lets face it, I’m too lazy for that most days.” She liked to conserve her energy for other mischief. She knew her brothers would turn up if she really needed them.
“We seem to get a lot of that here,” Lily commented with a face. Homework didn’t bother her but the studies did seem a little more intense. “While you’ve been working however, I’ve been devising ways to get in stuff from the joke shop.” What was banned or not really didn’t matter when you were a Weasley or Potter, breaking rules were in their blood. “Things need to be cheered up around here, yeah?”
