          Aleks gave a shake of his head and click of his tongue in disapproval.

Blair shakes her head with a giggle. “Lost all credibility?” she asks. “A hit or two?” her brows raise to indicate she couldn’t believe what she’d just heard. “So you’re telling me you only think Korn had a few good songs...meanwhile the one-hit-wonder Soundgarden makes top on your list?” she questions the boy before her. “I can appreciate that Korn isn’t everyone’s cup-of-tea...but you can’t seriously be comparing them, a band that has many known songs...to a band that people have never heard of.” she says. Then she snorts. “Korn does not define the era. Linkin Park does for sure though and I’ll fight you on it!” she laughs.

“I can’t imagine why your folks would put pressure on you to do sport. But then again, my family dynamic is different, maybe I’m the weird one.” Astrid replied with a shrug as she slipped back down into the splits, twisting around to crack her back. “I love dance. I also enjoy art but only because it’s calm where the others are fast paced.” Looking up at the blonde Astrid smirked and gave a playful shrug. “Why not live fast paced when you’re going to live almost forever?”

Blair waves her hands in front of her. “No no no! Not my parents! They would never!” she tells Astrid quickly. “I mean other parents. My teammates parents. They all seemed to put so much pressure on their children to do well and win no matter what...and if they lost they would get mad and that all just took the fun out of it for me.” she explains.

“Clearly you underestimate me, I’ve also eaten takeout, someone in the dorm’s had pizza, extremely convenient that they had extra not gonna lie,” she shrugged with her usual confident yet dorky grin. “I could totally keep this whole thing up.”

“The fact that you are somehow still alive in spite of all the sugar and grease you consume will forever astound me.” Blair says with a laugh and a shake of her head. “I’m making pork potstickers with soy sauce for supper tonight. You should join us. I’ll make a fresh pitcher of tea and set up a place for you if you want.” she offers in an attempt to get her sister to eat a real meal. “I might even make pie.” she adds with a grin, leaning to get a look at May as she starts giggling.

“No I put the twix in there, it was part of my earlier quest for candy today,” she laughed, “There’s probably something or other in there I’m just far too much of a procrastinator to go through everything at a reasonable pace and time.”

Blair rolled her eyes. “I hate to sound like The Moms but...you can’t survive off of candy for the entire school year you know.” she says, brows coming together again. “You’ll get sick by the end of the first week for sure.”

“You can call me Steve, if you want. Or Mr. Rogers. Anythin’ is fine,” he replied, sounding a little sheepish. Taking the book from her, he flicked through the pages, emitting an impressed little hum as he did so. “This is, well. This is impressive, I’ve gotta say.” He was also impressed with the fact that she had a photographic memory. Steve himself had a photographic memory too or he used to. Now that he was older, his memory wasn’t as sharp or insistent as it used to be. sometimes, it was dull and only sometimes a nag. Sure, he remembered alot of things and rarely forgot anything, but he couldn’t remember them in as much detail as he had been able to before. “Is there a sequel to the book?” he asked, pulling himself away from his thoughts. 

Blair sighed. “Unfortunately, no. No sequel. Though I’m sure I can find a book of poetry or something once I’m finished with this.” she says with a shrug. “I try to always have at least one book at all times. I really love reading. And I also keep a notebook in my bag too, so I can write my own little stories.” She smirks. “So, maybe don’t assume that all kids hate learning and waste their summer!” he jokes.

“I’m sure they took care of her too.” Blair says, walking over to the little kitchen set-up and using the keurig to brew Blaze and herself cups of tea. She sits down at ikea shelf and desk unit to find something in the shelving to make for the two of them to eat. “What sounds good? We’ve got all kinds of stuff but I don’t feel like really going down to cook. I’m kinda craving  oatmeal right now.”

“Things like that shouldn’t be used for pranks,” Natasha responded, keeping her tone firm. “Even if you don’t intend for someone to get hurt, accidents can happen.”

Blair shrugged. “I know it’s a lame excuse but, I’m definitely not the only one that does it.” she says, still smiling. “Besides. I know the in’s and out’s of my powers and my stuff.”

“Goodie goodie gummy bears,” she said with a slightly mocking sense of enthusiasm. “I haven’t really started unpacking as the kids say. I’ve kind of just been taking things out as I need them,” she shrugged. Her sister knew her hbits far too well, “But I did find the fridge, it holds a few twix bars at the moment. Definitely a sweet set up.”

“Maybe some of the stuff in our room was meant for you too.” Blair tells her, confusion tinging her voice. “We’ve got fruit cups and microwave meals and everything. They even made sure to put a coffee pot in our room for me and a tea brewer for Blaze.” she explains. “Maybe they’re making another trip with some more stuff for you?”

“I wanted to get some gummy bears,” May sighed, and held a surprisingly large bag of gummy bears. She rolled her eyes ever so slightly. “I know, I know, I probably should have called first but I’m trying to learn how maps work.” She stood up from the side of the street and popped open the top of the tea, “Thanks, boo.”

She knew before she left that her sense of direction was not the best, and that maps were stupid. Her craving for gummy bears out weighed all of that rationality.

Rose laughed, watching May wave around a bag of Haribo gummy bears. She shifted the circle framed glasses to keep them from sliding off and smiled. “Well, now that you have those...do you need anything else while we’re out?” she asks. “I’d check your boxes, if you haven’t unpacked yet. Which something tells me you haven’t. Mom’s packed food and stuff for us, so I imagine they did for you too.” she explains. “There should be a mini fridge under your desk.”

Where is That Exactly? (Blair and May)

May was still getting accustomed to her new environment  to say the least. She didn’t want to be so dependent on her sisters as she was for a while back at home. Not to say she didn’t like that she could be dependent on her sisters when necessary, but she wanted to forge her way for herself.

She however could not keep track of where the buildings were for the life of her. She currently was trying to find her way back to her dorm, and found herself lost on campus. Not again, she thought to herself. She sighed and called her older sister. “Blair….I got lost again.” 

After she called she sat down on a street corner and waited for her sister to come and help her out. This was a regular occurrence back home, and May would often go to the wrong stop on the subway.

Rose had been maybe, sort of, kinda expecting the call before she had gotten it. So when her cell rang, she spun around in her desk chair and showed Blaze the screen and the two shared a laugh quickly before she answered. “What’s up Little Sister?” she asks, and May explains her situation. “I’ll be there in a minute, so sit tight and try not to get yourself more lost.” she tells her with a laugh, then gets out from under the loft bed and grabs a few drinks and stuffs them in her bag before heading out.

She found her sitting on the sidewalk tapping her toes together and calls out to her. “Hey. Come on, let's get you back home.” she says, then hands her a Arizona tea when she comes up beside her. “Where were you trying to get to anyways. You know you could have asked me for directions. I would have been fine with showing you.”

“I hope you don’t think that I’m being rude, but why are you doing cheer then if you dislike competition and pressure?” She asked curiously, looking at the girl as she took a sip of the drink, screwing up her face slightly at the bubbles. “I mean cheer isn’t exactly the most relaxed sport, especially when we do compete against other squads.”

“I guess I look at cheer a little differently than other sports.” she shrugs. “To me, cheer has always been this extension of my art because of all the creative things I can do with my body. And there's definitely not as much pressure for Cheer as other sports. I would enjoy dance for the same reason, but parents have taken all the fun out of dance by being crazy about their kids winning. Sports should be fun. Not stressful. School stresses me out enough, so why would I sign up for more?” she says with a laugh.

Blair raised a brow questioningly and shook her head with a laugh. “Look, SG is great and all but lets be real...there were plenty of bands that topped them.” she says seriously, but smile never fading. “Personally, I’m a bit bias, as everyone is when it comes to music. Linkin Park is definitely a favorite of mine. And the 90’s produced some damn good musicians. Linkin Park, Korn, The Offspring, Rage Against the Machine,Green Day. I mean really. It was one hell of an era for music.” she says, nodding in agreement with herself.

Blair’s face was completely lit up, looking over the food selection and nodding furiously. “I don’t know why it’s here but I’m definitely not going to complain.” she tells the boy to her right.

“Thanks. I swear everything has artificial crap in it nowdays.” Astrid said, taking the bottle with a roll of her eyes before she sat down on the ground stretching out her legs. “Pressure is good. Needed in my case. I mean really my options are either become a warrior on Midgard or return to Asgard and rule as a princess. Either way, I need to know how to handle myself. And having my friend’s Dad scream at me to jump higher and spin faster is good practice.”

“Some things I don’t mind the artificial flavoring, but just not my fizzy water. Make it taste like fruit syrup. Gross.” she says making a face. She also pulls a baggie of oatmeal raisin cookies from her bag and offers that to Astrid as well. “I had enough pressure growing up as the oldest of three sisters. Blaze is a softie and May is younger, so I’ve always had to be the tough one. Competition was never in my cards, had too much else to look after.”

“I find that in dance. Solo dance at least. Even so it is very competitive, Coach makes us work our asses off and there’s a lot of overlap between them, some of the cheer kids do dance and some of the dance kids do cheer. If I want freedom without competition though I do art. But it’s not as thrilling.” She explained with a shrug. Art was more there to pass the time, something she dabbled in when she was on Asgard with her family or when cheer and dance seasons were both over for a while.

“I don’t much care for competitive things.” Blair admits. “I don’t like being in a competition for things I’m passionate about. For me it takes the fun out of it because there's too much pressure.” She shifts the bag off her back and reaches inside for a drink, holding one out to Astrid as she takes a sip of her own. “It’s peach fizzy water. No artificial flavoring and no added sugars. It’s one of my favorites.”
