Okay okay I might have cried a little at that vampire!AU in Rogers death bed..... so could we get a scenario in which Brian has to turn Roger into a vampire... like he HAS to and he hates himself for it but the blonde comforts him (even if he is now TERRIFIED)
//i cried a bit at that too, bc these two need to be together forever. Thankyou for the prompt, sorry for taiing forever! I hope you're still around, anon, and that you enjoy this!!
Mentions of blood and injury!
It wasn't supposed to go like this. It wasn't, and Brian hated himself for letting it get to this point.
Why had he insisted on going on a trip for the weekend, and exactly had compelled him to rent a cabin in the middle of buttfuck nowhere?
"Brian? Brian i'm scared" The words came with a huff of warm air against the vampire's neck. He closed his eyes for a minute, feeling as if the knife was buried deep inside his chest.
Would be better in yours than Roger's, wouldn't you reckon?
And if that thought wasn't enough to make tears roll down his cheeks, the sound of Roger's shallow breathing sure was. Braving a look down to the man in his arms, the vampire let out a shaky breath, skimming his fingers through the damp blonde hair of his lover.
"You're okay. You're going to be okay" It was a blatant lie, and the fact was way too audible now that the noises outside had quieted down.
The hunters were gone, thinking their job finished.
Really not the tops of their profession.
"I don't… Bri, I don't want to die" There was a small river of crimson leaking from Roger's lips, a small bubble of blood forming in the corner of his mouth.
The handle of the knife prodding from his lower chest shook with every uncertain breath the blonde took, as if mocking Brian.
"I know. I'm so sorry" There were tears mixing with the blood, and Roger was looking at him with those eyes. Redrimmed and filled with fear, but still so blue.
You've already made up your mind about it
"Brian, ple-" The plea was cut short with a wet cough, and Brian held onto him a bit tighter. "Please"
"You're going to be alright" Brian leaned forward, pressing his nose against Roger's hair. "I'm going to help you. I'm sorry"
"Brian please" There wasn't a lot of time now, Brian could tell by the weakening flutter that was Roger's heartbeat. The vampire couldn't let him go, he just couldn't.
The scent of Roger's blood wasn't as overwhelming as it had once been. When the blonde had cut his finger on a kitchen knife a few months back. When he had hit his head on the corner of the cupboard door in his kitchen only a few weeks after they had started dating. Back then it had taken all of Brian's self control to keep his distance, to fight the urge to have a taste.
Now the thought was repulsing, because he knew what it would mean.
"Bri…" The vampire closed his eyes, apologising to every god he had ever known and to the ones he had forgotten about too.
"You're going to be okay" Brian shifted to press his lips against Roger's neck.
"I'm going to help you" He could hear how the blonde's breath hitched when his teeth grazed against the pale skin.
"I'm sorry" There were no fireworks when he bit down on the soft skin. No magical moment where Roger's back would arch sensually, as if asking for more. There was no rush of energy, there was no shared pleasure. Only the taste of Roger's blood on Brian's tongue, and the sound of a fading heartbeat.
"Love, would you stop moping?"
"I'm not moping" The room was dark, but Brian could sense the eyeroll he was receiving from his lover.
"Sure you're not" The light was turned on, and Brian buried his head deeper underneath the blanket. He wasn't ready to discuss this again.
"You can't avoid me forever you know" And now Roger sounded sad and Brian hated himself even more.
It's your fault, deal with it.
Slowly, the older man pushed the blanket away, carefully facing his lover.
The red eyes still sent shivers down his spine.
"I'm not avoiding you. We're sleeping in the same bed aren't we" In the dim light of their night lamp, his eyes caught in she shiny white scar on Roger's lower chest, before settling on the crescent shaped scar on where his neck met the shoulders.
"I'm sure we wouldn't be if it were up to you" And Roger sounded so hurt and upset that Brian wanted to stab himself for being the reason of that. He wanted to apologise, for all of it, but he knew it would never be enough.
"Don't apologise, alright? I'm tired of listening to that" Roger's attitude was still there, that glint in his eyes and the fire beneath the surface. He was still the same beautiful creature he had always been.
"Sorry" Brian muttered before he could stop himself. Roger smiled sadly, reaching to push a stray strand of hair off of Brian's face. Slowly the sadness faded, and the smile turned devilish. It still didn't reach his eyes.
"You know, i'm now physically able to slap the everliving crap out of you if you keep annoying me" The blonde's attempt at humor fell flat when Brian couldn't bring himself to smile. Not that he'd ever believe that Roger would lay an unloving hand on him, but he didn't like the rest of what that sentence insinuated. And Roger didn't seem to like Brian's doom and gloom attitude.
"I'm going to need you to drop that sad face. For real, love. What happened, happened. And yes, it's slightly terrifying, and I have no idea how to navigate all of this, but I think i've been doing an alright job so far, wouldn't you reckon?" The blonde shifted to straddle Brian's hips, reaching down to cup his lover's still frowning face.
"You've been a vampire for three weeks, Roger. That's hardly any time at all compared to what's coming. And I'm just scared that one day you'll wake and resent me for what I did and I don't think -"
"Shush you damn goblin" Roger moved his hand on Brian's mouth, effectively shutting him up. "I'm happy, alright. A bit scared, unsure, and hungry as hell, but happy. And do you know why?"
"Because I have a forever to learn how to deal with this. A whole forever. With you. I really can't complain, now can I?" Brian could have come up with a few reasons for his lover to be unhappy, but the persistent grin on Roger's face was starting to tug at the older mans lips too.
"That you do. You're now even more stuck with me than you were before. If you'll have me" He added as an afterthought, and felt Roger pinch his side firmly, making him squirm.
"I will definitely have you. From every direction and angle you'd like" The wink seemed even dirtier now that Roger's eyes were a glowing crimson red, and for a moment Brian forgot to hate himself.
Because after all, they now had forever.
