Last Wednesday, June 17 to be exact, Kawaii Philippines officially launched their very first book "Beyond The Cutest Dreams" at the L/G Event Center, SM Megamall. As soon as I saw the news on Facebook, I immediately asked my friend, who is also a kawaii enthusiast, to accompany me and she gladly accepted! ╮(＾▽＾)╭
The Kawaii PH Book is originally priced at P200 but, specially for the event, it only cost us P150 which was also equivalent to two passes for the event.
I was really happy because I was, once again, reminded of how fun my last experience from Kawaii in Manila 2 was, even though it wasn't exactly a convention. Also, I wanted to go and support my fellow kawaii enthusiasts.
The entrance was so kawaii I coudn’t stop taking pictures of everything I saw haha! You all know how much I like Rilakkuma and seeing him by the entrance made me smile even more. (´▽`ʃƪ) Look at how photogenic these books are! so lovely huhu.
Beside the entrance, you can see whimsicute & Dolly Kaye’s booth and, as expected, all their merchandise were well organized. Everything was cute and colorful!
Oh, I remember this huge Kawaii PH standee from Kawaii in Manila 2! sweet memories ヽ(^。^)丿.
While roaming around the area, we saw a huge Converse shoe filled with drawings/doodles. Anyone could add their own drawing of anything they like. Of course, I drew Rilakkuma 〜(￣▽￣〜) I just realized that my doodle was close to Chichi’s drawing huhu *fangirl scream*.
One of the reasons I attended the event was to meet my favorite kawaii artist Chichi aka Little Miss Paintbrush. So I brought along my copy of the 1001 Awesome Stickers book to the event and made it my mission to try and get her autograph. It made me so happy to know how approachable and kind she was to us. She asked for our blogs and we even took a selfie together! Just a side note: Chichi was also the art director for the Kawaii PH Book huhu //forevermyidol ( ´͈ ᵕ `͈)
There was also an Artwork exhibit in the middle of the venue to enjoy as we waited for the program at 6PM.
For the first activity, there was a booth where we were allowed to draw in the pins using sharpie pens. It was free so doodle all you want! Needless to say, I chose to doodle Rilakkuma huehue. There were a lot of great artists who amazingly drew anime and wrote japanese characters. (ﾉ´ヮ´)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
For the second activity, if you had a converse with you, you could let the artists kawaii-fy your shoe! I wasn't wearing one but I enjoyed watching other artists putting rainbows and clouds on le shoes. ʅ(◔౪◔ ) ʃ
While the event itself went on from 10AM up to 9PM, the program did not start until much later that day. There were performances by Reese Lansangan and Seishun Kakumei, games involving marshmallows, and giveaways to be won!
The program ended with a message from Kaila Ocampo aka Rainbowholic , the founder of Kawaii Philippines, who, unfortunately, could not attend as she was in Japan during the day of the event. (╯︵╰,)
Her talk was very inspiring because it made me realize that you don't need to be rich or have a lot of money to do what you really want. I may not be a part of the Official Kawaii PH team, but it felt like we were treated as family. It feels really comfortable to be part of the Kawaii community. The Kawaii PH team is indeed blessed because of their hardwork and perseverance towards their goal. ♡
I had a ton of fun! I got to meet my role models as well as new friends and now I am even more encouraged to celebrate my uniqueness. I am really fortunate to experience these kind of events and feel really blessed to be surrounded by such positive vibes and happy thoughts from other people who share the same interest. With all the stress from the outside world, I felt that this event made me relax and just enjoy every moment. °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
I'm so pissed at SmartBro right now! I can't open my blog at home .. other websites are working fine except tumblr! I think they blocked it or something grrr
After months of no blogging during vacation , I can finally open my tumblr at school
I was cleaning my shelves when I noticed a purple old case full of old letters from my gradeschool and highschool friends. I should be cleaning that time but I read a few letters and gawd I miss writing letters for my friends. That feeling when you're just smiling while reading their letters are priceless! So now I'm planning on writing a letter for my friends. I still have tons of unused stationery set and stickers.
plus I bought this kawaii stamp set at National bookstore! I can't wait to use them :")
Okay so my desktop died 3 days ago and I'm left with my slow but pretty laptop.. ╰|⊙ー⊙ | on the other side this week is a roller coaster ride..many things happen that made me smile and cry but so far I'm still grateful for this experiences. I'm still trying to be productive as possible and do everything on time so good luck to me ^-^
