masterlist
I. Concert
You bring it up over breakfast.
"Sabrina's at Paycor in two weeks."
He looks up from his phone. "Yeah?"
"Tickets are insane. Like — insane. I was gonna see if anyone wanted to split nosebleeds, but they're still like three hundred bucks each."
He watches you for a second. You can tell he's working something out. You go back to your coffee because if you wait too long, he won't say it.
"Y/N."
"Hm."
"You know I have a box there, right?"
You look up. "What?"
"A suite. At Paycor. It's mine. You're always welcome to use it." He says it like he's telling you what time it is. "Any show. You don't have to ask. Just tell me what date."
You don't say anything.
"Y/N."
"I'm processing."
"What's there to process?"
"That for two weeks I've been doing math in my head about nosebleeds, and you have a box."
He laughs. Small. "I thought you knew that."
"How would I know that?"
"I don't know. I thought I'd mentioned it."
"Joe."
"What?"
"You have not mentioned that."
He sets his phone down. Picks his coffee up. Takes a sip. "Well. Now you know. Bring whoever. I'll have the chef send food."
You stare at him.
"What?"
"Nothing."
"Y/N."
"Nothing. I love you. Eat your eggs."
———
You bring three friends.
Mads, Anika, and Cat. You cleared it with him first — is three too many, is it weird if it's all girls, are you gonna come — and he answered them in order like you'd asked them in a meeting. no. no. yeah, I'll come if you want me there. you wanted him there.
He's the only guy in the suite. He doesn't seem to register it. He's at the bar making Mads a drink because she asked him what he was making for himself, and he said whatever you want, what do you want? Cat is taking pictures of the stage from the window. Anika is sitting on the couch, already on her second glass of wine, telling you about her sister's wedding.
You watch Joe across the room. He's listening to Mads explain her stance on tequila. Nodding. Asking her a follow-up. She's gesturing with both hands. He's smiling at her with his whole face.
"Y/N."
"Hm."
"He's so nice."
"I know."
"Like genuinely. He asked me about my job."
"He does that."
Anika watches you watch him. "You're so gone."
"Shut up."
"You're so gone, Y/N."
"Shut up."
———
Sabrina opens with Taste, and the four of you scream.
Joe doesn't scream. But he's on his feet at the window with his drink in his hand, watching the stage, and when you look at him, he's smiling — that small one, the one that means he's having a better time than he expected. He glances at you. Catches you watching.
"What?"
"Nothing."
"Y/N."
"You're having fun."
"I'm at a concert with you."
"That's not an answer."
"It's the answer." He takes a sip of his drink. "I'm having fun."
You go back to the window. Anika is taking a video over your shoulder. Cat is screaming the words. Mads is dancing in a way that suggests she's three drinks in and entering her Sabrina era. Joe stays at the window. You can feel him at your back.
———
By please please please, you've pulled him into it.
You turn around mid-chorus and sing it at him — I beg you don't embarrass me, motherfucker — and his head tips back, and he laughs. Open. Surprised. The laugh you don't get to see at press conferences.
He leans down to your ear.
"I won't embarrass you, motherfucker."
"Joe."
"What?"
"You can't say that."
"You just said it."
"I was singing."
"I was participating."
You elbow him. He doesn't move. Anika is filming again. You don't tell her to stop.
———
The show ends. Your voice is gone. Mads is crying about because I liked a boy. Cat is rebooking her flight because she missed her Uber and now wants to stay another day. Anika is already in the car downstairs.
Joe holds your coat for you. Helps Mads with hers. Carries Cat's tote because she's holding her phone in one hand and a tequila soda in the other. You watch him do it.
In the car, he puts his hand on your knee. You put your feet up on the dash because your shoes are killing you, and he doesn't tell you to take them down. Your friends are in the SUV behind. The driver is taking the long way because Joe asked him to — take the river road, the highway's gonna be a mess.
"So."
"So."
"How was your first Sabrina Carpenter concert?"
"I had a really good time."
You look at him.
"What?"
"Nothing. I thought I was gonna have to drag it out of you."
"Why?"
"Because that's usually how this goes. I ask if you had fun, and you say it was fine, and I have to interpret it."
He glances at you. The streetlight catches him. "I had fun. She's good. You were having fun. Mads is funny. Anika keeps asking me questions like she's interviewing me, which I kind of like. Cat tried to give me half her drink. That's a good night."
"Joe."
"What?"
"That was a whole answer."
"Yeah."
"Like a real one."
"I know."
He puts his hand back on your knee. His thumb moves once. Slow.
"You're gonna make me go to more of these."
"Yeah."
"Figured."
II. Halloween
You bring it up over the weekend.
"The Bengals Halloween party is in three weeks."
He doesn't look up. "Mhm."
"Are you gonna go?"
"No."
"Joe."
"Y/N. I don't go. You know I don't go."
"I know."
"So."
"So I was just asking."
He looks up at you then. You go back to your phone. You don't say anything else.
———
You bring it up again the next morning. Casually. Like you forgot you'd already mentioned it.
"So the Halloween party —"
"Y/N."
"I'm not pushing. I'm just saying. Alex's been texting me about costumes for two weeks, and Jay asked me yesterday if we were coming, and I didn't know what to tell her."
"You tell them I don't go."
"I told them I'd ask."
"Y/N."
"I'm just telling you what's happening, Joe. They want me there. I want to go. But if you don't want to, that's fine."
"You'd go without me."
"I'd go with Alex."
He watches you for a second. Then he goes back to his coffee. You don't bring it up again that day.
———
Three days later, he comes out of the bedroom with his phone in his hand.
"I'll go."
"To what?"
"The Halloween party."
You put your laptop down. "Really?"
"Yeah."
"Joe."
"Don't make it a thing."
"I'm not making it a thing."
"Y/N."
"I'm just — yeah. Okay. Yes! Let's go!"
He looks at you. He's trying not to smile. "You're making it a thing."
"I'm not making it a thing."
———
He says yes on Monday. You start texting Alex about it on Monday. By Tuesday morning, you've narrowed it down to three couples' concepts, and you bring them to him over breakfast.
"I'll handle costumes —"
"I probably have something in the closet that works."
You look at him.
"What?"
"I probably have something in the closet that works," he says again. "Depending on what we're doing. And I can call Kyle for whatever else we need. He's good at this stuff. He did the Met thing."
"Joe."
"What?"
"You're going to call your stylist to put together a couple's Halloween costume."
"Yeah."
"With me."
"Yes, Y/N."
You stare at him.
"I can also just buy something off Amazon."
"No, I want Kyle to do it. He's good. Let me do this part."
"Okay."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
He picks up his phone.
———
Kyle pulls a white suit with thin purple pinstripes from Joe's closet that Joe forgot he owned. LSU-era. " That'll work,Kyle says on the phone, looking at the picture Joe sent. Send me your measurements again, Y/N I'll get the Harley pieces sent up by Friday.
Friday morning, a garment bag arrives at the door. Red and black. The pigtails were clipped to the hanger. A bat with a bad girl's sticker peeling on the side. You stand in the front hallway holding it, and you can't stop laughing.
"Y/N."
"Yeah."
"What's so funny?"
"Your stylist bought me a bat."
"He commits."
"I love him."
"You've never met him."
"I love him anyway."
———
The night of the party, you do his face in his bathroom.
He sits on the counter in the suit pants and a white undershirt because the vest goes on last. You stand between his knees with a sponge in one hand and a tube of white face paint in the other. He's watching you in the mirror over your shoulder.
"Hold still."
"I'm holding still."
"You keep talking."
"That's not the same as moving."
"It moves your face, Joe."
He goes quiet. You work the white into his hairline. His eyes track you in the mirror. It's a little unnerving — his face is the thing you know best in the world, and you're covering it up.
"Y/N."
"Don't talk, your mouth's next."
"Can I say one thing?"
"One thing."
"I can't believe I let you do this."
"That's not one thing; that was a sentence."
"Y/N."
"Hold still."
You move to the green around his eyes. He closes them for you. You have one hand on his jaw to hold him still and the other working the eyeshadow in, and you can feel him breathing slow under your fingers, and you can feel exactly how much he trusts you for this — letting you put your hands on his face for an hour while you cover it up.
When you're done with the eyes, you step back to look at him. He opens them.
"Verdict."
"You look insane."
"Y/N."
"In a good way. In a really good way."
"I feel insane."
"That's the costume."
He laughs. Small. You do the red around his mouth last. You go slow. You don't want to mess it up. When you're done, he stays still for a second, watching you in the mirror, and then he says come here and you step in between his knees, and he holds you by the hips with his still-gloved hands, and he kisses you on the forehead because you told him not to mess up his mouth.
"Y/N."
"Yeah."
"This is the most insane thing you've ever asked me to do."
"I know."
"I'm doing it because I love you."
"I know that too."
———
He looks devastating.
In a good way. You're already in your costume — red and black, the pigtails, the bat in your hand — and you stand in the bathroom door and look at him, and you have to take a second.
"Joe."
"Don't."
"You look really good."
"Y/N. I look like a clown."
"Yeah."
"That wasn't a compliment."
"It was from me."
He comes over to you. He hooks a finger in the waistband of your shorts and pulls you a step closer. You let him.
"You're going to be insufferable about this tonight, aren't you?"
"Yeah."
"Figured."
———
Ja'Marr clocks him before you get inside.
You're walking up to the rented-out space from the car — Joe in the full Joker, you in the full Harley, his hand on the small of your back — and Ja'Marr is on the sidewalk in a cookie costume, and he sees Joe, and he stops walking, and he says, very loud, oh my GOD.
"Don't."
"BRO."
"Ja'Marr."
"BRO."
"Don't."
Ja'Marr is doubled over. Tee is coming up behind him in a full Batman costume, and he sees Joe, and he says holy shit, and then he says hi, Y/N, and then he goes back to holy shit. Alex is two steps behind Tee in a Poison Ivy costume that you helped her pick out, and she sees you, and she screams.
"Y/N."
"Hi."
"Y/N, OH MY GOD."
"Hi, Alex."
Jay is somewhere behind Alex in what looks like a milk carton costume, already laughing. She gives you a thumbs up over Alex's head.
"Y/N."
"Yeah, Joe."
"This is your fault."
"I'm aware."
———
Inside, Alex pulls you away from him for an hour.
She has photos to take. She has people to introduce you to. She has gossip about which of the rookies showed up in costumes their wives hate. You let her drag you around. You keep glancing back to find Joe in the crowd — he's never far. He's holding a beer. He's letting Tee's mom take a picture with him. He's nodding at someone in a Chiefs costume that he is, charitably, pretending to find funny.
Jay finds you by the bar around eleven.
"You got him here."
"I know."
"Y/N. You got him here."
"I know."
"In costume."
"I know, Jay."
"And you're Harley."
"Yes."
"I'm gonna cry."
"Don't cry."
"I'm a little drunk."
"I can tell."
She hugs you. You hug her back. Across the room, Joe is watching you and trying not to smile.
———
At midnight, you find him on a couch in the back room with three of his teammates around him.
He's holding a bottle of something. His face paint is smudged at the corner of his mouth. The vest is unbuttoned. He's laughing at something Tee just said, and he hasn't seen you yet.
You stand in the doorway and watch him for a second.
He sees you. His face does something — the small smile, the one you get to see, the one that means you're there. He pats the couch next to him. Tee scoots over.
You sit down. Joe puts his arm around your shoulders. You can feel the white face paint coming off on your Harley costume. You don't care.
"Y/N."
"Yeah."
"Thanks for making me come to this."
"Yeah, Joe."
"I mean it."
"I know."
He kisses the top of your head. His face paint comes off on your hair. You don't tell him.
III. Sheet Mask
He comes home from a workout on a Sunday afternoon.
You're already in yours. You're sitting on the couch with a sheet mask on, watching something stupid on Bravo, and he walks in the door, stops in the entryway, and looks at you.
"Y/N."
"Hi."
"What is on your face?"
"A sheet mask."
"A what?"
"A sheet mask."
He comes closer. He leans over the back of the couch and looks down at you. His face is pink from the gym. His hair is damp at the temples.
"That's a piece of wet fabric."
"It's a sheet mask, Joe."
"Is it doing anything?"
"It's hydrating."
"What does that mean?"
"It means it's putting moisture in my skin."
"With a piece of wet fabric."
"Yes."
He stares at you. You stare back. You can feel the mask sliding slightly on your cheek.
"Come here," you say.
"No."
"Joe."
"Y/N."
"Come here."
———
He comes.
He doesn't sit on the couch. He stands in front of you with his arms crossed and looks at you. You can tell he's already losing because he hasn't gone upstairs to shower. That's his tell. If he were really saying no, he'd be in the shower already.
"Sit down."
"Y/N —"
"Sit. Down."
He sits. On the floor. Between your knees. With his back against the couch and his head tipped back to look up at you.
"I'm not putting that on my face."
"You don't have to."
"Oh."
"I'm putting it on your face."
"Y/N."
"You said you weren't going to. I'm respecting that. I'm doing it for you."
"That's the same thing."
"It's not the same thing, Joe."
"It's the same thing."
You reach into the basket by the couch and pull out a fresh packet. You tear it open. The mask is folded in half inside, dripping. You peel it apart with your fingers and hold it up. He looks at it. Then he looks at you. Then he closes his eyes.
"Fine."
"Fine?"
"Fine, Y/N."
"Thank you."
"I hate you."
"I know."
———
You do his face slowly.
You smooth the mask onto his forehead first, then work it down over his cheekbones, his nose, and his chin. He keeps his eyes closed. You can feel him breathing slowly under your hands. The mask is cold from the fridge — you keep them in the fridge, which is a thing he's mocked you for — and you feel him flinch the first time it touches his skin.
"Cold."
"I know."
"Why is it cold?"
"Because I keep them in the fridge."
"Why?"
"Because it's better for your skin."
"Y/N."
"Don't talk, you're going to crease it."
He stops talking. You work the mask into the corners of his jaw. You smooth the eye flaps down. You press the edges against his temples. When you're done, you sit back on the couch and look at him.
He looks ridiculous.
A grown man with a sheet mask on his face, sitting on the floor of his living room, in joggers and a t-shirt that says Bengals strength & conditioning, with his eyes closed and his head tipped back against the couch cushion.
You take a picture.
You don't ask. You just take it.
He opens one eye. "Y/N."
"Yeah."
"Did you just take a picture of me?"
"Yes."
"Y/N."
"Let me see it."
You hand him the phone. He looks at it for a long time. You can't tell what his face is doing because the mask is covering most of it. You watch him scroll. Zoom. Scroll back.
"It's bad."
"It's amazing."
"Y/N."
"Joe."
"Can I post it?"
"No."
"Joe."
"Y/N."
"Close friends only."
He looks at you. The mask is still on his face. You can't read him.
"Close friends."
"Yeah. Not my story. Just the eighty people who already know us."
"Eighty!?!?"
"It's a small eighty, Joe."
He goes quiet for a second. You watch him decide. The mask makes it harder than usual.
"Fine."
"Yeah?"
"Close friends. And if it ends up anywhere else, I'm divorcing you."
"We're not married."
"I'll find a way."
———
You post it to close friends.
You set the phone face down on the coffee table, and you go back to Bravo. Joe closes his eyes again. The mask is starting to dry at the edges.
Ninety seconds later, your phone buzzes.
Then it buzzes again.
Then it doesn't stop buzzing.
Joe opens his eyes. "What's happening?"
"I don't know."
"Y/N."
"I — it's close friends, Joe, it's only —"
"Check it."
You pick up your phone. You have fourteen replies already. Half of them are crying-laughing emojis from your friends. One is from Mads — Y/N I AM HOWLING. One is from your sister — send me the link to the mask. One is from Anika — Y/N!
Then Joe's phone buzzes on the coffee table.
He doesn't open his eyes. "Tell me."
You pick up his phone. You read the screen.
"It's Tee."
Joe's eyes open.
"What does it say?"
"He sent the lipstick-face emoji."
"Y/N. How does Tee know?"
"I —"
"Y/N."
"Alex is on my close friends list."
He stares at you. The mask creases at his forehead.
"Y/N."
"What?"
"You posted me in makeup to a list that includes my receiver's girlfriend."
"In my defense, you said close friends."
"Alex isn't your close friend, she's his close friend, and now she has screenshot capability —"
"Joe."
"— and the Bengals wags group chat is its own ecosystem, Y/N, you don't understand —"
"Joe."
"What?"
"You're talking really fast."
He closes his eyes again. Breathes in through his nose.
"This is going to be in the team group chat in twenty minutes."
"I know."
"Ja'Marr is going to lose it."
"I know."
He doesn't say anything for a second. Then he laughs. Small. Real.
"Okay."
"Okay?"
"Yeah."
———
His phone buzzes again.
You look at it. It's his mom.
You hand him the phone without saying anything. He opens his eyes. Reads the screen. You watch his face. The mask is hiding most of it, but you can see the corner of his mouth lift.
"What does it say?"
He hands you the phone.
tell her I said hi. You look ridiculous. I love it. xx
You read it twice.
"Joe."
"Yeah."
"Your mom is funny."
"I know."
He's looking at you now. The mask is starting to slip at his hairline.
"Y/N."
"Yeah."
"Why is my mom on your close friends list?"
You don't answer right away.
"Y/N."
"She's nice."
"Y/N."
"What?"
"You haven't met her."
"We've DMed."
"You've DMed."
"A couple times."
"Y/N. You've been DMing my mom."
"She started it."
"She — Y/N."
"She commented on something I posted in like September. And then she DMed me. We've gone back and forth a couple of times. That's it."
He's staring at you. His mouth is open a little. The mask is doing nothing for him right now.
"Joe."
"Yeah."
"Don't be weird about it."
"I'm not being weird about it."
"You look weird about it."
"Y/N. My mother is on your close friends list. And we haven't done a real meeting. And you've been DMing her since September."
"Yes."
He closes his eyes. He doesn't say anything for a second. You watch him work through it.
"Joe."
"Yeah."
"Are you mad?"
"No."
"Joe."
"I'm not mad. I'm — processing."
"What's there to process?"
"That my girlfriend and my mother have a DM relationship I didn't know about."
"Joe."
"I'm not mad, Y/N."
He opens his eyes. Looks at you. The mask is sliding now, definitely past its lifespan. He looks ridiculous. You love him.
"Text her back for me."
"What should I say?"
"Tell her hi back. Tell her I'm being walked like a dog."
"I'm not telling your mom that."
"Why not?"
"Because it's true and I don't want her to know."
He laughs. His shoulders shake against your knee. You type hi Robin! He says hi. xx and send it. She sends back a heart. You put the phone down.
Joe stays on the floor with the mask on for another twenty minutes. You don't tell him when it's done. Neither does he. Eventually, he opens his eyes and peels it off himself and looks at you.
Synopsis: You have your concerns about having to be in a long distance relationship after Joe graduates, but he and other people around you reassure you that worrying about it won't do you any good as your focus moves to spending Christmas in Athens
Series Masterlist
December 16, 2019
The last final had been taken and everyone residing on campus was given an extra week to pack up their dorm room/apartment to start making their way home for the holidays.
However, since both of you were athletes and trained year round, you had the option to do either or. Your current focus was on switching out some of your clothes that you had at your apartment for some that you had at home. You had accumulated a little too much over the semester and your closet was now at capacity.
“I feel like I should have said something about a week or so ago, but my mom has set up the guest bedroom for you. My parents want you to spend Christmas and New Year's with us.” Joe just casually mentioned as he was helping you pack some of your things.
“Oh, I am not turning that down. I will gladly make my way to Athens for Christmas.” You replied as you folded up one of your many LSU shirts that belonged to Joe and set it in your overnight bag. You planned on keeping his LSU sweatshirt instead.
But…. You needed the shirt too and immediately took it back out.
“Wait, I have to get your parents a gift. I can't just show up empty handed. That would be very rude of me. What do they like?”
“I promise that you being there is enough. They love having you around and I'm convinced that they're starting to like you more than me.” Joe scrunched up his nose at the thought and rolled his eyes making you laugh.
They not only made their way to Baton Rouge to see Joe play football, but also to see you compete.
“I highly doubt that, but if you insist. I still need to think of something. Do you guys end up getting a lot of snow?”
“Yes, just about every year, but they would honestly probably be okay with a pound of crawfish for a gift. That's just about all they eat when they come down here.”
“I can probably count on one hand the amount of times that I've actually seen snow in person and a pound of crawfish is wild as a Christmas gift.”
“Well you'll see plenty of it when you come. And my mom always goes all out for Christmas. She starts decorating November first. Do you want this here or are you taking it home?” He asked as he held up a black see through crop top which you knew was one of his favorites.
“I'll keep that here and I knew that I liked her for a reason. It's my favorite holiday and always has been. I love getting gifts, but I love giving them more. Especially when you know exactly what that person wants and them get so excited when they open it and the look on their face makes it all worth it.” You said as you stared your boyfriend down.
“Was that shade? Because I feel like it was. Might as well had thrown the entire damn tree at me.”
“If the shoe fits. But you never tell me what you want! I sent you my Christmas list at the Halloween party so you would have enough time!”
Joe shrugged before sitting on your bed and pulling you onto his lap.
“You know what I want?” He asked as he kissed the top of your head.
“What's that?”
“Some crawfish.”
“You get on my LAST nerve. Let me up, I need to get away from your foolishness.” You told him, but all Joe did was laugh and hold you tighter and kissed you.
“Try if you want, but it'll never work.”
“It will if I bite you.”
“Should have known. Always choosing violence and playing dirty when you don't get your way.”
“I am literally 4'11. My height obviously cannot be used as an advantage.”
“If you really wanted to use it as an advantage, you could.” Joe replied as he laughed and you shook your head.
You suddenly became quiet and began to stare off into space before Joe lightly grabbed your face so that you could look at him.
“You okay?”
“You graduate in four days.”
“Mm hmm and I have your ticket so you can come.”
“It's starting to be more real now and I don't know how to feel.” You spoke honestly because at that point you didn't have anything to lose.
“That's very valid considering.”
“Please don't feel like I'm not proud of you because I am. I… I am so proud of you that I can't even put it into words. I'm just going to dread what is coming. Not being able to see you everyday and there's really nothing that I can do about it.”
“But it's only for a little while and the time will pass before you know it. It's only one more year.”
“It might not be a long time to you, but it is to me. That is going to feel like forever.”
“Look how fast these two years went by, so this is nothing and it's nothing we can't handle, okay? You have me and I have you and we're not letting anything get in the way of that.”
“Do you promise?”
“I promise and I'm going to change your last name. You have my word on that.”
You let out a deep sigh, but gave him a small smile.
“It's going to be a good thing right?” You quietly said as you waited for his response.
“It's definitely going to be a good thing. It's the start of the rest of our lives and we're doing it together.”
“I wish I had a time machine so I could fast forward.”
“Just like I said before it'll go by faster than you think.” He told you as he kissed your forehead.
“I don't think I told you that I loved you today, so I love you.”
“Yes you did, silly. But I never get tired of hearing it and I love you too.”
A day or so had passed when you decided to tell your mom that you would be spending Christmas as well as New Year's in Athens, forgetting to actually do it the night that Joe had originally asked you and you already knew that both of your parents wouldn't be happy about it.
But since they paid your twin the most attention, would it really be a loss if you weren't there?
It has always been evident that he was the favorite child and it really hit you when you were thirteen.
Yes, you knew that your parents loved you, but when it came to your brother it was different. Even if they never meant for you to feel that way, the bottom line was that you did.
You had an uneasy feeling in your stomach as you dialed her number and waited for her to answer.
“Hello?”
“Hey mom.” You quietly said as you braced yourself for a soon to be argument which you knew was probably coming.
“Hey, everything okay? How's Ja'Marr?” Toleah asked as she was currently digging through the refrigerator to clean it out to make room for the dinner she planned on making for Christmas.
You couldn't help but to roll your eyes.
She didn't ask specifically how you were. She never did. But always made it a priority to ask about your brother even though the last time you checked, he had his own phone and she could call him any time that she wanted.
“Everything is fine. And he's fine the last time I checked. Just wanted to let you know I'm not spending Christmas down here.”
“What? Why?”
“Because Joe's parents already requested that I be up there with them. And for New Year's.”
“I… it would have been nice if you said something earlier. What if I had something special planned?”
“It's not like it's going to make much of a difference if I'm there or not. You'll have Ja'Marr.”
“And what is that supposed to mean? I want each twin of mine here.”
“That all of you will be fine and I'll see you when I come back. I'll drop off your gifts before I leave.”
“I guess I can give you yours too.” She replied with a slight attitude.
“I have to finish Christmas shopping so I'll talk to you later.”
“Okay, see you when you come back. Tell Robin and Jimmy hello for me and we'll see them at the next game.”
“I will.”
As soon as you hung up, you went back to your task of trying to plan out Christmas gifts that you were going to get for everyone and the person that you were looking for a gift for was Ja'Marr.
You weren't sure what to get him and had been at it for at least an hour before you had called your mom. You were ready to call it quits and in a minute it was about to be a gift card.
He was the second to last person that you had to shop for and this would definitely be putting a dent in your bank account.
So far, you had your parents, Erin, Alisha, Joe's parents, and you would shop for Joe once you were finished with Ja'Marr.
A knock on your door interrupted your scrolling on Amazon and soon after you got a text from the group chat with you, Erin, and Alisha at the same time.
Erin- We outside boo, let us in
Getting up from the couch, you opened the door all to end up being caught in a bone crushing group hug before all three of you went to get comfortable.
“So, Joe graduates in two days?” Alisha said as you stopped scrolling on your phone to look at her.
“Please don't remind me.”
“Wait, aren't you going?”
“Yes, but….” You replied then immediately began to trail off.
“But what?” Erin asked as she got up to go into your kitchen to look for food.
“I've never done this long distance relationship thing before and I am low key terrified. What if we grow apart? What if we break up?”
“Girl, slow your roll. Are you talking about Joseph Lee Burrow who is literally head over heels for you? And the same man that would literally crawl into your skin if he could because he's so attached to you?” Alisha asked as she looked at you dumbfounded.
“And the one who literally wants to marry you? And is probably currently designing what he wants your ring to look like? That Joseph Lee Burrow? I'll believe it when I see it. Not that I'm wishing that on you, but Y/N please be serious. That man loves you DOWN.” Erin explained and Alisha quickly agreed.
“No lies told.”
“And it's not like he's getting on a plane as soon as he walks across the stage. You are getting yourself so worked up when I know it'll work out in the end.”
“But an entire year without being able to see him every day?”
“You act like you can't hop on a plane and go see him wherever he gets drafted to.”
“Don't get me wrong, I know that it may seem like I'm not proud of him but that's not the case. I am, I just….”
“Oh, I know what this is about.” Alisha said as she finally had a realization.
“What?”
“These NFL groupies are going to be throwing themselves at him just how they do down here. Now you're nervous because he's about to be known by a lot more people. You had a damn meltdown when it happened and you two started dating and now it's only going to get worse.”
All you did was stare at her before sighing.
“Exactly.”
“I'm not scared of him cheating, I just… I don't even know.” You said as you threw your hands up in frustration.
“You just want to be with him, and that's okay. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But like I said. It's all going to be fine. One more year here and then you graduate, get married, all that.”
“I feel so dumb that I keep complaining about this.”
“It's not dumb and your feelings are important. Did you tell Joe?”
“Somewhat.”
“The year is going to be over before you know it.”
Graduation for Joe along with his party had come and gone so you had put all of your focus and energy on Christmas. Since it was decided that you would spend it in Athens, Joe proposed the two of you drove instead of flying.
At first you weren't too excited about the idea, but as the days started winding down, you were able to give it more thought and was very pleased with the fact that it would just be you and Joe the entire time.
Your favorite person in the entire world.
You just didn't expect the trip in total to be fifteen hours and also didn't expect when Joe told you that the two of you would have to leave in the middle of the night.
It was now December 23rd and your peaceful sleep was being interrupted by hearing your boyfriend's voice.
“Come on, baby doll. You gotta wake up.” You heard Joe whisper in your ear as he kissed your cheek and attempted to sit you up.
Because he knew if he didn't that you would go right back to sleep.
“No.” You whined and tried to lay back down but Joe firmly held you in place.
“You can sleep in the car, come on. We have a lot of hours to drive.”
“What time is it?” You asked while pouting.
“2:15.”
“I just went to sleep at 12!”
“Like I said, you can sleep in the car.” Was all he said as he picked you up and walked to the bathroom and placed you on your feet.
All you did was tightly hug him and bury your face into his chest.
“A shower might wake you up and I'll start putting everything in the car.” He said as he squeezed you.
“Can we stop and get snacks?”
“The sooner your ass gets a move on.”
“Fine.” You muttered as you sighed and Joe made his way back into the bedroom.
Taking a quick shower and throwing on leggings along with one of Joe's sweatshirts, you slipped on your uggs which you were very excited to buy for the cold weather in Ohio and retied the black bonnet covering your hair.
Grabbing your phone, you made your way out to the living room to see Joe coming back in from going outside.
“You ready?” He asked and you rubbed your left eye before nodding your head.
“Mm hmm.”
“You sure that you have everything?”
“If I don't, you'll just have to buy it for me when we get there.” You told him as you shrugged while he shook his head at you.
“I already got your favorite pillow and blanket and put it in the front seat.”
“You officially get the perfect boyfriend award.” You said as you reached up to kiss him.
“Perfect? I don’t know about all that but I try to be.”
“Well you're doing a really good job so far. Oh, and by the way you are not allowed to pick the music.”
“And why not!?”
All you did was give him a blank stare.
“You can do it for thirty minutes.”
“Baby…. We have to drive fifteen hours.”
“I know.”
“You have to meet me halfway here because that is not going to work and besides, aren't you about to go right back to sleep? Therefore I can listen to anything I want.”
“If I hear more than three Kid Cudi songs in a row, I guarantee you that I'm going to wake up.”
“Keep going and I'm not buying you any snacks.”
“Babe, that's not fair!”
“And you think you being able to pick the music for fifteen hours is?” He asked as the two of you made your way to the front door and Joe locked it behind him once you got out into the hallway.
“Yes.”
“No spicy pickle for you.”
“Okay, fine! One hour!”
“No hot fries.”
“An hour and fifteen!”
“No calypso.” Joe replied as he kept going through the list of your favorite snacks.
“An hour and a half!”
“No twix.” He said as he opened the car door for you and you rolled your eyes as you buckled your seat belt.
“Three hours, final answer.”
“I don't even know why I'm arguing with you because you're going to be asleep the majority of the time.” Joe replied as he closed the passenger door and walked to the other side.
Once he slid in the driver's seat, you made a face at him.
“No I'm not. I have to keep you company.”
“Baby, after we get snacks your ass is going to be out for an entire business day.”
“Will not! I promised you I'd drive some of the way!”
“Mm hmm, we'll see if that happens.”
Of course Joe was proven right, well half right.
After the two of you had stopped for snacks, you were awake for about another hour until you fell back asleep.
You had slept for at least three hours before Joe heard your voice.
“Are we there yet?”
“Not hardly. Go back to sleep.”
“Okay, I love you.” You told him as you took a bite of your spicy pickle and closed your eyes again which resulted in him laughing.
“Love you too, princess.”
As promised and much to Joe's surprise, you did end up driving the last three hours and after a few much needed breaks reached his parents house around eight at night.
You were now restless and itching to get out of the car.
“See, I told you that I would help you drive.” You proudly told your boyfriend who was currently peering out of the window.
“I guarantee it's only because there isn't any snow yet. Well there is, but the majority of it is melted. I wouldn't want you driving in it anyway since you've never done it before.”
“Oh, yeah me and snow would not be a good mix.” You replied as you finally pulled into his parents driveway.
You unbuckled your seat belt and tried to get out of the car before Joe pulled you back.
“Look at me.”
“Hmm, what's wrong?” You asked, suddenly growing concerned.
He leaned over the middle console to give you several kisses before putting the last one on your forehead.
“I had to get it in now because I know they're about to steal you from me.” He told you as you let out a laugh.
Once you opened the door, you felt as if the wind smacked you in your face and immediately gasped.
“Baby! I'm cold!”
“It's winter, sweetheart.” Was all he said before walking towards you and putting your hood on to hopefully shield your face from some of the cold.
“How did you do this every year!?”
“Just got used to it, I guess.” He replied while shrugging.
Taking out his key, he opened the door and let you walk in the house first as he followed close behind.
“There they are!” Robin exclaimed when she spotted the two of you and came over to give you both hugs.
“Hey Ms. Robin.” You greeted her as she tightly hugged you.
“Thank you for taking care of him while he's down there. So happy that he has you. I know I tell you this all the time, but still.” She whispered in your ear, making a smile instantly come on your face.
“Of course, I wouldn't have it any other way.”
Every single time she saw the two of you interact, she instantly got a smile on her face.
Robin could already tell by watching the dynamic between the two of you that Joe was going to ask you to marry him and truth be told she couldn't have asked for someone better for her baby boy.
The way that you support one another was needed considering both of you would probably end up doing the sport you loved professionally.
Jimmy soon made his presence known and took in your attire.
“Y/N, please tell me you bought a winter coat with you because that LSU sweatshirt is not going to keep you warm.”
“I tried to warn her, but she didn't listen.”
“I did buy one! It's in the car!” You replied as you hugged Jimmy.
“Come on, you two so you can eat. I take it, Joe drove?”
“Not the entire way!”
“Majority of the way while she ate spicy pickles.” He teased as he pinched your cheek and you swatted your hand at him.
All four of you sat down at the table to see a full pot of spaghetti in the middle with garlic bread on a separate plate stacked high.
Jimmy began to make plates while Joe got back up to get the drinks. Once everything was set, all four of you dug in.
“Y/N, I heard you're going to take some summer and winter classes?” Jimmy asked as you nodded your head.
“I plan to. That way by next fall semester, I'll be considered a senior and do my internship to then graduate in May.”
“I'm sure you'll do amazing. How about the Olympics? Are you going to the trials?”
You hadn't actually told Joe yet, but the answer was yes.
“I am.” You said as you sighed and Joe got a small smile on his face. Either way it went, you knew that he would be supportive.
“I'm very scared… no… terrified. But I'm going to try and make the team.”
“They would be stupid not to put you on the team. You've been scoring nothing less than a 9.5 in just about all your events ever since you got to LSU.” Joe explained as he squeezed your hand underneath the table.
“That's true. Every time we watch you, we're in awe.” Robin told you as she took a sip of her iced tea.
“And if you end up on the team which we know you will, me and Jimmy are flying to Tokyo to support you.”
“I… you two don't have to do that.”
“Yes we do. You're family and we support each other so we'll be there.” Jimmy added, agreeing with Robin.
“It's late July so I already know I'll be in training camp so more than likely won't be able to go but at least you'll have them there with you.” Joe said and you nodded, understanding that would be the start of his rookie season in the NFL.
“I appreciate the both of you and despite how scared I am, I'm also excited.”
“We know a medal is in your future.”
After dinner, both Jimmy and Robin didn't stay up too much later while you and Joe washed the dishes and put them away.
The two of you stayed downstairs watching Christmas movies until about midnight cuddled on the couch when Joe noticed your eyes began to get heavy.
“You tired princess?” He asked as your head had now taken residence on his shoulder and he wrapped his arms tighter around you.
“A little.” You told him and you proceeded to yawn immediately after.
“Let me get our bags from the car and then we can go upstairs.”
“I'll help you.”
“No you won't. Just sit there and look pretty.” He replied as he kissed your cheek, making you smile.
“Okay.”
Once all bags were inside, you headed upstairs to take a much needed shower and find something comfortable in your suitcase to sleep in. You plugged your phone in before settling in bed when there was a small knock on your door followed by Joe sticking his head in.
“You okay?” You asked as he fully opened the door with his foot and you noticed that his arms were behind his back.
“Mm hmm. It's past midnight so that means it's Christmas Eve.”
“Oh, I guess it is.” You told him looking at the time on your phone.
“I have one of your gifts for you.”
“Ooh! What is it?” You asked him as you excitedly sat up as Joe sat next to you and handed you a box with pink wrapping paper which you wasted no time in tearing apart.
It revealed a brown and white teddy bear with Joe's LSU jersey and you knew for a fact that he had gotten it from build-a-bear.
“Oh my god, this is adorable! I love it, thank you.” You told Joe before reaching over to kiss him.
“And that's not all. Press his left hand.”
Once you did, you immediately heard Joe’s voice, ‘I love you, Y/N Katherine.’ Immediately making your eyes water.
“And it smells like you.”
“I did this so whenever I get drafted and move to wherever that may be, you'll have this while you finish school.”
“Don't be surprised if I take this everywhere I go when you leave and I'll be pressing it a hundred times a day.”
“Maybe not that much then it won't work for very long.”
“Not literally, but you know what I mean.”
“So hot chocolate date along with more Christmas movies later?”
“Sounds like a deal, Burrow.” You told him as he tucked you in while noticing your tight grip on the bear.
“Wait, I have to give you a gift too.”
“No need, I can wait one more day.”
“But…”
“It's fine, baby. I love you, get some sleep.”
“I love you too.”
When Joe woke up Christmas morning, he walked to his window and pulled the curtain back to see that the ground was completely white and covered in snow. He remembers you mentioning to him a few weeks ago how you had never built a snowman or made a snow angel and he quickly made it his mission to make it a core memory for you.
After taking a quick shower and getting dressed in some warm clothes, he went across the hall to knock on your door.
When he didn't hear anything, he slowly opened the door and found you asleep while holding the bear that he had gotten for you that you had opened as your Christmas Eve gift.
You were amazed at the fact that when you pressed the bear's left hand, it said ‘I love you’ but the best part is that it was Joe's voice that you heard every time.
Joe had it in the back of his mind that whenever he moved to where he would get drafted to, you would end up hitting it at least 100 times a day to listen to it, that was exactly what you told him and also wouldn't be surprised if he had to replace it.
There was no secret that you had separation anxiety, however it had gotten a little better during your second year at LSU. Joe just didn't know how these big changes would affect you and he wanted to protect you at all costs.
He slowly walked to the side of the bed and sat down as he brushed a few curls that had fallen out the bonnet out of your face before leaning down to place a soft kiss on your forehead.
“Baby doll?”
“Hmm?”
“Merry Christmas, my sweet girl.”
“Merry Christmas.” You muttered while still half asleep.
“Get up so we can build our snowman.”
At the sheer mention of snow, your eyes popped open and you excitedly sat up.
“There's snow outside!? Like more than last night?” You asked and Joe gave you a soft smile before nodding his head.
At least three inches had fallen yesterday and two more fell overnight.
“Yes, a lot of it.”
“Say less.” You told him as you hopped up and immediately opened your suitcase to find something warm to wear.
“I'll be downstairs waiting for you.” Joe told you as he came around the side of the bed and leaned down to kiss you.
“Okay.”
Quickly brushing your teeth, washing your face, and hopping in the shower, you put on at least two layers of clothes along with your snow boots that your mom had given you as an early Christmas gift and walked downstairs to see Joe waiting for you and all smiles.
You didn't see Robin or Jimmy so you assumed that they weren't awake yet as you and Joe headed out the front door. Wasting no time, you ran off the porch when you saw that there was a huge pile of snow that you ran full force into and laid on top of it as you could hear Joe's laughter behind you.
Flipping your body around, you started moving your arms and legs in a forward and backwards motion making your first snow angel.
“I expected it to be softer to be honest.” You told him as he laid down next to you to mimic your motions.
“It typically is when it first falls but when it gets colder it makes it feel like this which is what we want if we want to build our snowman.”
“Hmm, makes sense. Do we have a carrot for his nose!? Buttons for eyes!? A scarf!? I have an extra LSU one that we can use!” You were firing off questions left and right and Joe was loving how excited that you were and happy that he was able to experience this with you.
“I got it all and was prepared knowing that we would need them. You ready to make it?”
Eagerly nodding, Joe got up first before literally picking you up to put you on your feet upright.
“I watched a few YouTube videos so I could be prepared.” You commented as the two of you started gathering snow for the bottom of the snowman.
“Oh! And I'm going to make fancy hot chocolate like from scratch once we're done. I made it at home and tested it out before we got here so I would do it justice. I didn't want to make it yesterday in case things went left, but I looked at the recipe again last night. There is nothing worse than trying out a new recipe during the holidays and it turns out to be disgusting. We weren't about to do that.”
“You know that I will eat literally anything and everything that you put in front of me.”
“Not disagreeing. Especially when I'm the one in front of you.” You muttered the last part, but Joe still couldn't help but to hear you.
“I'm going to need you before this day is over, that much I can tell you.”
“I… I didn't even realize you heard me.”
“Well it wasn't exactly quiet.”
“I thought it was. And what is the temperature right now? Because I low key cannot even feel my face anymore and we haven't even been out here for that long.”
“Last time I checked it said it was 23 I think.” Joe answered and all you did was stare at him before he took a break from building the snowman and wrapped your scarf around you tighter.
“That's unnecessary and I don't care for that very much.”
“You better get used to it if I get drafted to Chicago.”
“No! Ask for a damn trade because absolutely NOT. I'm already moving for you and now you expect me to be COLD on top of that!?”
“But just think…. I'll always be here to warm you up. In more ways than one I might add.” He softly whispered in your ear before placing a trail of kisses down your neck.
“It is entirely too early for you to be this horny.”
“What do you want me to do? Turn my dick off like it has a switch?” He asked as you doubled over in laughter before shaking your head at him.
“It wouldn't matter if that was a thing anyway. Yours would stay on.”
“Shouldn't be so pretty and tease me all the time.”
“All I'm doing is standing here in sub zero temperatures covered head to toe in two layers of clothes that are doing NOTHING in the keeping me warm department as I'm freezing and building a snowman.”
“Still look good to me and I promise to warm you up later.” Joe smiled while sending a wink in your direction.
When the two of you had finished building your snowman and took pictures, you ventured back inside to see that Robin and Jimmy were finally awake.
Jimmy looked and saw how you were bundled up from head to toe with only your eyes showing and laughed.
“Y/N, if you layer on any more clothes you won't be able to move.”
“I can barely move now! I ran outside in the snow and jumped onto a huge pile and Joe had to pick me up because I was just laying there and couldn't move!” You explained as Joe was literally unwrapping you from your multiple layers.
“I take it the cold isn't for you, huh?” Robin commented as she moved about the kitchen making breakfast.
“No! And I don't see how you do this every year. I was outside for only a few minutes before I started complaining that I couldn't feel my face.”
“After a few years, you get used to it.”
“A few YEARS? Yeah, no. Take me back home. Like why is the temperature just a few degrees higher than my age? Unnecessary.”
“You should have seen the blizzard we had last year.” Robin told you as you came over to help her.
“Nope. Glad I missed it.” You said as you were trying to warm yourself up.
“Oh, I was going to make hot chocolate from scratch and I went to the store to get multiple toppings so everyone can add what they want.”
As soon as the sentence left your mouth, you felt your phone vibrate in your back pocket with Joe's message alert sound.
You deeply sighed before opening it because you knew that it would be some utter nonsense.
Joey 💕- Only topping I want is you riding me
You- BEHAVE PLEASE. All I'm asking is for one day smh
Joey 💕- No ☺️
Joey 💕- Gimme what I want and then I'll shut up
You- I doubt it. You'll find something else to complain about
Joey 💕- Lemme just put the tip in
You- You aren't getting your gifts if you don't be quiet
Joey 💕- Is my gift you riding me?
You- JOSEPH STOP IT
After you sent that last text, you slid your phone back into your pocket. As you looked up, you made eye contact with your boyfriend and he quickly smirked and sent a wink in your direction as he mouthed, ‘Just wait until later.’
Once the hot chocolate was made, all four of you gathered around the living room to finally open gifts. Even though Joe said not to worry about getting him or his parents anything, you paid him no attention and did it anyway.
Not even asking him what his parents would like, you took note of their interests between this season and last season to make your final decision which you had a good feeling that they both would love.
You went upstairs and brought down two gift boxes which they were all surprised by and handed each to their respective recipient.
“Joe told me not to worry about deciding on what to get the two of you, but of course I didn't listen.” You honestly said before sitting on the floor next to Joe and sliding his gifts towards him.
“We got you something too!” Robin excitedly replied and pointed to two gifts that were in pink and purple wrapping paper and you moved them closer to you.
Ripping off the wrapping paper of the smaller box, you realized that there had to be jewelry inside and got excited.
It said Swarovski on the front of the box when it was finally revealed from the tearing of the wrapping paper and quickly opened it.
It was a pink and rose gold tone elephant and you instantly gasped.
“Oh my gosh. This is so pretty.” You said aloud as you held it up to inspect it.
“We remember you mentioning liking elephants and that they are your favorite animal. Went to the store and saw this and figured it would be perfect.” Jimmy told you as Joe helped you put it around your neck.
“I told you that they love you more than me.” He whispered in your ear before laughing as you shook your head.
Joe shook one of the boxes you handed to him before it revealed a Lego death star from Star Wars and his mouth instantly hung open.
“Joey, close your mouth.”
“Do you know how EXPENSIVE this is?” He asked you and you just shrugged.
“Not expensive enough for me to not get it for you. I just had to save up a little and I knew you wanted it.”
“And this isn't even the miniature one. It's the BIG one.”
“I know. You said you always wanted a Lego room in your house whenever you bought it so this is my contribution.”
“You're helping me build this later.” He said while turning the box over to look at the back.
“I will gladly help you build it.”
You smiled as you watched Joe admire his gift and then he soon slid a big box towards you.
“This wasn't on your list, but I thought of you when I saw it.”
Opening the box, you found a black rainbow tinted Telfar bag and your eyes went wide.
“These bags are literally ALWAYS sold out, how did you even get this!?” You asked as you held it up and excitedly began to playfully hit him.
“I might have stayed up all night to get it when it restocked, but we're not talking about that.”
Suddenly remembering your second gift from Jimmy and Robin, opening the box revealed a Marc Jacobs tote bag.
Which you knew were on the pricier side.
“Not my own parents trying to upstage my gifts for my girlfriend.” Joe muttered as he pointed to the elephant on your neck and the bag.
“Not going to lie. They actually might love me more than you.” You teased as you pinched his cheek which led to him rolling his eyes.
Robin had opened her gift to see that it was also a necklace that you had gotten which held her birth flower and stone along with Jimmy's as well as Joe's.
“I was surprised that it came on time because I was nervous. Everyone's birthstone and flower are on the charms.” You proudly said as Jimmy helped her put it on.
“I love it, very thoughtful of you.”
Jimmy tore open his box to see an ultimate grilling spice set with at least thirty flavors for him to choose from.
“I know you and my dad love tailgating and I figured that you could put this to good use.”
“And I got a new grill before it got cold. But we're about to be tailgating with snow outside.”
“Yep. You sound just like my dad.” You replied while laughing.
When all of the gifts were opened, you and Joe cleaned up the wrapping paper before taking all of your gifts to the guest room.
You got a necklace and Marc Jacobs bag from Jimmy and Robin, a Telfar bag, bracelet, Ugg boots, and a few books that you had been wanting to read. While you got Joe the Lego death star, a new leather wallet because his old one had seen better days, a Reggie Bush jersey, and by his request a kiss underneath the mistletoe he had hidden in his room.
The remainder of the day was spent watching Christmas movies and helping make Christmas dinner before Joe told you to get dressed.
He planned on taking you to a nearby park for their Symphony of Lights event where there were different displays of decorations and lights that you could see as you drove through it every year.
The best part about it was that there was no need to leave Joe's car and be in the cold.
The two of you caught the tail end of it before Joe drove to another part of the park that was in a secluded area away from the holiday display and other cars before finally parking.
“I'm happy you spent Christmas with us and this is probably one of the only times that I'll probably get to have you for myself.” He said as he grabbed your hand and squeezed it, making you smile.
“Me too. I love being around your parents.”
“I still can't believe you got me the death star.”
“Why? I knew it was something that would make you happy so I did it.”
“And next year whenever I move we'll be celebrating our first Christmas in our own house.”
“Shouldn't you maybe get a condo or an apartment first?”
“Whichever happens first. If you see a house that you like, I'm buying it without a second thought. And then we get to be together all the time. Can't wait for that.”
“You ready to head back yet?” He asked, seeing as it was almost midnight.
“Not yet. I like it just being us.” You replied while leaning over to kiss him.
“If that’s the case, we can do something else.”
“I…”
“No one's out here and no one is going to see us, baby. Since you literally said no to doing anything in my room.” Joe whispered against your lips before kissing them and promptly moved to leave a trail of kisses down your neck and sliding you onto his lap before putting his seat all the way back.
“You promise? And uh yeah because the last thing I want to do is get caught by your parents.”
“I promise. It's Christmas night and dark as shit out here. Take this off.” Joe told you as he tugged at your sweater since you had already taken off your coat since you had been surprisingly warm.
You swiftly pulled it over your head, along with the cami underneath as your pink and black bra came into view.
Joe's mouth was immediately on them and no time was wasted as he reached behind you to unclasp it.
He gently took it off you and threw it to the side of him as your nipples now had his full attention.
“When did you change the piercings?” He asked as he was rolling them between his fingers and leaned down to place the left one in his mouth which resulted in a moan from you.
“Before we left and came here.”
“Good choice. I like them.” He quietly replied before going back to his current task.
Joe wanted to do something he hadn't done with you in a while and decided to go for it without telling you.
He was going to make you cum by sucking and playing with your nipples.
And nothing else.
Joe was rotating between softly biting and sucking since he knew how sensitive they were.
His tongue lightly flicked your right one back and forth as he was twisting the left one in between his fingers.
“Mmm, fuck. That feels so good.” Was all Joe needed to hear in order for him to continue.
“Shiiiit. Suck them harder, baby.”
Joe wasted no time and did exactly what you asked him to.
He knew you were getting closer from your jolt-like movement and you holding him closer to your body.
That's when he switched and began to suck on them even harder if that was possible.
You threw your head back as your orgasm hit you and Joe didn't move a centimeter as he kept sucking.
“Good girl.” Joe finally said as finally let up for air and placed kisses along your neck.
“Let's see how many times I can make you cum.”
“Sir, we are not doing a repeat of my birthday.”
“Fine, but remember it's just around the corner again. I'll probably tie you up this time, but we'll worry about that later.”
With his left hand in one swift movement, unbuttoned your jeans and slipped his hand inside of your thong as he ran his fingers across your folds making you jump.
“Shit, my hands are still a little cold. I'm sorry, baby doll. One second.” He told you as he removed them and placed them in his mouth, tasting you and sucking on them at the same time.
“Tastes so damn good, princess. Already so wet for me.” He told you as his erection was almost becoming painful and needed a release as soon as possible.
He placed them back inside as you reached forward to take a hold of his bicep.
Multitasking, Joe put his seat all the way back anticipating what was to come.
“That better?”
“Mm hmm.”
With the slightest amount of pressure, his thumb began circling your clit, making you groan in desperation.
“Joey…”
“Yes, baby?” He answered before kissing you.
“I need you.”
“You have me.”
“I need you inside of me.”
“Oh, is that right?” He asked as he helped you take off the rest of your clothes leaving you bare in front of him.
It was now Joe's turn to get rid of his clothes to add to the growing pile.
“Wait, we don't need anymore scares.” He told you as he reached in the pocket of his jeans and pulled out a condom.
He quickly tore it open with his teeth and you took it out of his hands and rolled it on.
“You were moving too slow.” You told him as you lifted yourself up and gently sat all the way down on him, making you throw your head back in satisfaction as Joe let out a loud moan.
“Fuck you feel so good.”
Your hands made their way onto his shoulders and he quickly grabbed your hips as you continued to ride him.
Joe leaned the two of you back so you were now hovering above him as you started to go faster.
A hard smack came down on your ass as you reached forward to catch Joe in a kiss at the same time.
By now the windows had fogged up and you were hoping and praying that the two of you wouldn't get caught and you were trying to get him to release as soon as possible.
When your movements began to slow down, Joe slowly guided you as you started moving your hips to spell out his full name. He quickly caught on and smirked as he caught you in a kiss.
“Doing tricks on the dick at 1 am in my car is fucking diabolical. Shit, baby I'm close.”
“That's the entire point, Joey.” You replied while laughing.
“Shiiit, you want me to fill that pretty little pussy with my cum?”
“Yes baby, I want it. I want it so bad.”
Despite him wearing a condom, you couldn't even tell and it was honestly as if he wasn’t wearing it at all by the sensation.
“You gonna cum with me baby?”
“Yes!”
In less than fifteen seconds you could feel Joe twitch inside you as a warm sensation filled you.
“Get up here and cum in my mouth.” You lifted up off of him and proceeded to move up so that you would be directly over his face and squirted in his mouth as he played with your clit.
He immediately began licking your folds and sucking on it trying to get another orgasm out of you.
“Babyyyyy, fuck!” You exclaimed as Joe had a tight hold on your thighs and began to move his tongue in and out of you.
A series of gasps and whimpers left your mouth and he was not letting up for anything.
“Come on, give me another pretty girl.”
Joe switched from tongue fucking you back to sucking on your swollen clit and you showered him in your juices, not being able to warn him beforehand.
He let you recover for less than a minute before you heard his voice.
“You okay?”
“Mm hmm.”
“Good, I want one more.”
He flipped you backwards and around so that the two of you were now in a 69 position. You slowly took the condom off and began licking off the remnants on his dick before taking him fully into your mouth, making him moan.
Joe had now inserted two fingers into you and was moving them at an even pace before adding his mouth.
“Shiiit, baby that feels so good.” You told him as you had come up for air before putting him back in your mouth.
You quickly added the use of your hands along with your mouth making him have a series of jerking movements indicating that he was close.
Sucking on his balls led to a series of curse words leaving his mouth as your hand continued moving up and down the shaft.
Taking him again in your mouth, as he hit the back of your throat, ropes and ropes of cum filled your mouth as he continued to suck your clit.
“Swallow it.”
Listening to directions, of course you did it without a second thought as your own orgasm hit you. Joe smacked your ass before sitting you right side up and kissing you while your tongues battled for dominance.
The two of you stayed that way for a while as he held you close to his chest.
“Come on, let's put your clothes back on so I can get you out of this cold.”
“I'm anything but cold right now.” You told him as you gave him another kiss.
“I guarantee it'll hit you in a few minutes so come on.” He told you as he laughed and grabbed your bra to put it on you.
Once he snapped it, you leaned down to catch him in a kiss and guided his hand to move across your folds.
“Baby…” He started to say, but you cut him off.
More kisses.
“Baby, come on.” He told you while laughing.
“You shouldn't fuck me so good then.” You whispered in his ear as you kissed down his neck.
“Says the main one who didn't want to do anything.”
“Don't start Burrow.”
It was close to three in the morning when the two of you got back and much to your surprise, when the two of you walked in, the light in the living room came on to reveal Robin sitting comfortably on the couch and the two of you froze.
“Now, Joe, is that anyway to treat your girlfriend?”
“Wait, huh? Aren't you supposed to be asleep and what are you even talking about?” Joe asked as the two of you were both confused.
“All I'm going to say is that I hope you used protection.”
“MOM!”
“Don't worry Ms. Robin, he did.” You sweetly said as you tried not to laugh.
“Next time, do it in your room. It's the furthest away from us after all. Having her out in the cold like she's just some girl you picked up off the street is unacceptable.”
“And also I was wondering where you two were and then I checked Joe's location and it didn't move for a LONG time. When you did finally get back I saw that the windows were fogged up and I got my answer.”
“Mom, are you DONE?” Joe asked as you were trying your hardest not to laugh and Joe had pinched the bridge of his nose.
“I was young once too.” She said as Joe's eyes went wide.
“No, I am NOT listening to this.”
“How do you think you got here?”
“A stork brought me.” He replied as you covered your mouth.
“Okay, I think I embarrassed you enough in front of my daughter in law tonight.”
“You think!?”
Suddenly your legs started to give out and you had to lean against Joe as he quickly put an arm around you.
“I was going to say something but I won't.”
“Please DON'T. You've said enough!”
“Just don't break her, she's so little.”
“It's okay, Joe says I'm durable.” You replied as his mouth was now hanging wide open.
“And why are we still having this conversation?”
“Okay, anyway. Let me know if I have to call the paramedics.”
“Mom, PLEASE go to sleep.”
“You first.”
“I'm definitely tired.” You added as you yawned and Robin smirked.
“I bet. I take it the two of you are sleeping in so I'll be sure to have lunch ready and not breakfast.”
“Thanks mama.” You politely told her as you looked up at Joe whose face was now fire engine red and quickly moved the two of you in the direction of the steps.
“Goodnight you two or should I say good morning?” Robin said as she smiled, making you laugh.
When the two of you hit Joe's room, you sat down on the bed and looked at him as you tried not to laugh but failed anyway.
“I'm glad you find this funny.”
“You're just a little embarrassed, baby. Your face turned SO red.”
“I can't stand either one of you right now.” He told you as you smirked.
“Come here.” You told him as he stood between your legs.
You slowly undid his jeans and started to pull them down along with his boxers. You began to move your hand up and down the shaft stroking him and he looked at you confused.
“Oh, so now you want me to fuck you in the house?”
“Uh yeah, permission granted.”
“And I should add that as many times as I brought a girl over in high school, I've never been caught so….”
“Oh, so you were a whore?”
“I… she was my girlfriend!”
“It's okay, Joey. Just admit you were a little two dollar whore. I forgive you for your past.” You replied before taking him in your mouth.
It was now five in the morning and you were still wide awake as you could feel Joe's breath tickling your neck behind you.
Your mind had been racing nonstop since the conversation you had with your mother before coming to Athens.
Bottom line was that you did everything for everyone else, so when was it going to be your turn?
You loved your twin and never held it against him how differently your parents acted towards him versus you.
He could see it too and it bothered him to no end.
When the both of you turned thirteen, he started giving you something small on mother's day for always being supportive of him. Even though you remember him saying, ‘you're supposed to be my twin, yet it seems like they made you my second mother.’
From as long as you could remember, you always made sure Ja'Marr was taken care of before yourself.
You were the one to check if he ate, finished his homework, and at one point tutored him when it was needed, walked with him down the street to football practice if both your parents were working before going across the street at the gym for gymnastics.
B's on your report card would be considered failing, so in grade school you often found yourself staying up all hours of the night to study.
However if Ja'Marr came home with that? High praise.
Excuses came left and right, oh he has football was what you heard as if gymnastics wasn't even considered a sport.
And also stressing out to the point where you would sometimes throw up and suffer from headaches.
You didn't know how you actually survived your senior year because all you did was live off of energy drinks and slept probably two hours at a time.
And managed to have a 4.3 GPA.
It seemed like no matter what you did, in your parents eyes it would never be good enough.
LSU wasn't even in the cards for you. You had your eyes on UCLA.
Trevor was already going there.
Ja'Marr got a football scholarship.
As soon as your parents got word of it, what you wanted was out the window.
We want both of you to be close to each other
Even though they literally didn't live far from campus at all.
However, you were thankful that you applied.
It came with a gymnastics scholarship and meeting your soon-to-be husband.
You honestly couldn't wait until that happened and you would finally get rid of the Chase last name that you had grown to despise.
It was like a switch went off when you turned thirteen and nothing was ever the same.
At one point you would have considered yourself to be a daddy's girl, but that ship had sailed. Your parents always made it their priority to go support Ja'Marr at his games when your competitions were seen as being options.
Marrying Joe would also get you away from your parents and you could finally be your own person and not have to answer to anyone else.
Unless it was Joe of course.
At the end of the day, you being the perfect child would never be good enough.
Tears couldn't help but to slowly fall down your cheeks and you tried to quiet your sobs so as to not wake up Joe.
Your poor attempt at settling yourself down ended up with you hearing his voice come from behind you and his hold tightened around you.
“Are you crying? What's wrong?”
“Nothing, I'm fine. Go back to sleep.”
“Baby….”
“I'm okay, really. Like I said, it's nothing.”
“It's not nothing if it is making my girl upset. So tell me.” He told you as he laid on his back and pulled you on top of him.
A deep sigh escaped your mouth before responding to him.
“I… My parents treat me and Ja'Marr very differently and I'm sick of it. I'm just thinking about it and our conversation we had before we came up here.”
“You've mentioned it to me before. Just small things here and there.”
“Their expectations for me are almost unreachable while Ja'Marr can literally do absolutely nothing and get applauded for it and I am sick of it. I love my brother, I do. But I cannot keep doing this for much longer.”
Joe nodded indicating that he was listening to you.
“I think I told you that I didn't even want to go to LSU, I wanted to go to UCLA. My parents found out Ja'Marr got a scholarship and they were like fuck your plans, you're going to keep an eye on your brother.”
“That's…. Seriously? That's not right.”
“I just…. Thank you for loving me in the way I need to be loved and protecting me. You have no idea how much it means to me. Only other person who does that for me is Ja'Marr.”
“You're welcome, sweet girl. I'm always going to be here to protect you and love you like you need.”
“My mom just caught an entire attitude about me not telling her, but I'm like? You and dad mostly pay attention to Bam Bam anyway so I don't know what this fake outrage is about. He's seen as a priority while I'm seen as an option and it's been that way for a while.”
“And it should never be like that. You deserve just as much attention as he does.” Joe told you as you simply shrugged.
“Sooner or later I'm probably going to cut them off and I'm not going to feel bad about it.”
“Whatever you decide is best, I'm going to be right there in your corner.” Joe told you as he pressed a kiss to your forehead.
