I'm 🤨 with some of the international reaction to Contrast...

Sure, it is JBL 101 with the coming-of-age plot, but at the same time it's a well-crafted show and very few BL shows currently airing can match it's technical prowess and delicate writing.

So color me surprised to see that a chunk of the audience (and I noticed a pattern of them being avid Thai-BL watchers) complaining that the series is lukewarm and repetitive (!) as if Thailand didn't reheated the same plot all the time and with less and less production value to boot...

Contrast is not groundbreaking by any means, but to write it off as simply boring/generic is straight-up bullshit.

Rivals to Co-workers to Lovers!

A new JBL has hit Tokyo: Fake Fact Lips got it's cast and got some familiar faces!!

Hori Kaito (The Journey to Killing You) and Sato Yusuke (Mr. Unlucky has no Choice but Kiss!) are returning to BL-land in this rival to lovers take:

Rivals since high school are now salesmen in the same company, constantly bickering and betting on things to see who wins. This time the winner is whoever makes the other fall for them first, but one doesn’t know the other has liked him since high school.

Kaito not only has Journey on his resume, he has small roles in Cosmetic Playlover, Mr. Sahara and Toki-kun and A Man Who Defies the World of BL, he also fronts a few reels format BL sketches at syunkan_bl.

As for Sato, this is his first main lead role since Mr. Unlucky.

No info on the crew or release date as of yet — will update this as soon as more is provided.

Someone voiced something that has been on my mind since I saw one actor/singer lose his mind in front of fans because they switched the order of names in his ship. He legit berated the fans on the spot because of one joke.

And you can tell it's not about "personal preferences", that is indeed a more thorny issue that people collectively chose to ignore in order to keep the pretense that some of these actors are not just straight-up homophobic...

Personally I think that we need to drop the top/bottom connotation when it comes to ship names and focus on putting them in the most amusing order possible.

We could have so much fun. Some of these names are just meant to be switched- if for nothing else, then at least for the bit.
