I've been seeing a few takes about Subaru healing from Seishirou and whether he'd even want to, CLAMP's thesis on how happiness is different for everyone, etc. The problem is whenever these debates happen it drives me a little crazy, because, like...
You remember that meeting Seishirou was arguably the best case scenario, right?
I swear, whenever this issue comes up people forget that Hokuto's entire motivation for getting Subaru and Seishirou together, despite knowing that it'd probably end badly, and still wanting them to be together in the end, is that Subaru was an empty shell of a human being who would either spend his life being that empty shell or wind up the same way as his ghosts. As much as readers like to fantasise, there was no reality where Subaru was going to end up as a zookeeper with a sweet and caring boyfriend while occasionally going off to cleanse some spirits. He was already crumbling under the weight of being the clan head, physically and mentally driving himself to collapse because of the toll of his job, and doing things like letting a woman stab him to make herself feel better. Seishirou has to jump in to save Subaru's life at several points because Subaru would rather die than hurt someone. And sooner than later, he probably would have.
Did Seishirou screw up a perfectly good onmyouji? Obviously. But Subaru already had the anxiety (and several other severe mental illnesses). It's a very important part of his (an arguably an even more important part of Hokuto's) character that Subaru was not doing well. Yes, he's sweet, and lovely, and colourful, but he wasn't living. Unfortunately, with Seishirou, he was.
That's why it's a tragedy.

I'm cackling, I just found out about an unfinished manga by the group CLAMP (of Cardcaptor Sakura, xxxHolic, and Chobits, among many others, fame) called Clover where they very heavily based several background illustrations off of environments from the Gadget series (plus a couple objects like the lightplane) blatantly enough that somebody involved with Gadget, probably the director Haruhiko Shono, must have been like "wait a minute" because the 2020 reissue hardcover edition credits Shono and the art book Inside Out with Gadget in the copyright section. See for yourself:
Look closely at the windows:
And here's the copyright section I mentioned:
There's a few other examples within the manga itself. It feels like at least one of the people at CLAMP played the games and/or read the art book and thought to themselves, "There's too many geezers in Gadget with alopecia, there should be hot young guys and melodramatic romance in here!"
One of the main characters in this manga is named Kazuhiko, I wonder if his name is a combination of the creators of Gadget, Haruhiko Shono and Hirokazu Nabekura? Maybe it's a coincidence.
Kazuhiko and another character named Gingetsu are both a little reminiscent of Theodore Slowslop in different ways, though put through the bishonen filter. I never thought somebody would think to yassify Slowslop of all characters to make an Expy out of, but it really looks like that's what happened.
Other than a few pilfered backgrounds and a couple other possible similarities that aren't as clear, Clover doesn't really have much to do with Gadget and it mostly does it's own thing.
A CLAMP School Timeline
I want to preface this by saying that I know the CLAMP School timeline isn’t following real world rules for the school year (much like those gags in the Ouran manga where they acknowledge that there have been many Springs but no graduations lol). We would expect grade changes to happen if it was following those rules but for the sake of convenience they have been kept in the same grades. Lately, I’ve been plotting the rough timeline of events across 20 Mensou, Duklyon and CLAMP School Detectives and noticed that the school year seemed to be too long so clearly CLAMP share the same sentiment of ignoring all otherwise anticipated graduations.
BUT for the sake of plotting a realistic timeline that DOES take the school year into account I decided to rework some ages to allow for the movement up into the next grade that would otherwise happen in the middle of 20 Mensou and Detectives.
For the purposes of this I have aged down everyone in the Kindergarten and Elementary School divisions by One Year (this is to allow for characters like Nokoru and Utako to remain in their respective divisions because otherwise they would have moved up into the next division in the middle of their respective manga series). However, because of Duklyon’s position in the timeline taking place BEFORE the grade change would occur I have NOT altered the High Schoolers’ ages.
This means that to begin with Akira is now 8 years old and in 3rd Grade, Suoh is now 9 years old and in 4th Grade and Nokoru is now 10 years old and in 5th Grade and they will then move into 4th, 5th and 6th Grade in the April which occurs sometime in the middle of Detectives and 20 Mensou.
I also believe that the events of the CLAMP School series are taking place during the same time as Tokyo Babylon so this timeline also includes Tokyo Babylon events. I’m basing this on what looks like kindergartener Utako in the background of a page in early Tokyo Babylon, plus the mention of Duklyon and the Imonoyama Shoutengai in Shoten, which is not strictly 100% canon to manga Tokyo Babylon but several things that ARE canon to the manga were also originally present in Shoten so I choose to believe the time setting to be carried over as well).
I’ve also included known birthdays in this timeline as well (with amended ages marked with *). Any additional notes or explanations I want to make will be included at the end bc this is already long.
I’ve used stated dates where they are known, and assumptions for others based on where they fall between stated dates and whether the summer or winter uniforms are used etc…
So without further ado, here is the TB/CLAMP school timeline as I see it:
This is the summarized CLAMP School TRPG, which is a prototype for an eventual transcription/translation of the Clamp School Detectives Guide Book. The Guidebook features Clamp School Paranormal Investigators and contains this TRPG.
The fun thing is that if you don't know anything about CLAMP School or don't care about it, that's perfectly fine! You can play in any agreed upon universe in anyway you wish, as long as your players know the established universe.
Talking about players, any amount will do. you could play this game solo if you wished. The game thrives on improvisational narratives through random card draws...
And a lot of charts.
So many charts. I'm sorry if some of them are messed up. That's why its a prototype. <3
[I figured it was hard to vote on terms if you didn't know on how they are applied in game play.]
CLAMP TRPG Quick Start
CHARACTER SHEET
CHARACTER CREATION
GAME PLAY
EXAMPLE CHARACTER SHEETS (From Paranormal Investigators)
This Character Start Guide is a Prototype, since some of the terms are being decided by polls. This guide is meant to be a quick guide of how to make a character by using translated excerpts from the Clamp School Detectives Guidebook. This is not the book fulltext, as this guide was written by myself. The charts are copied from the book so the translations are rough.

if kurofai actually canon or is that just something you ship?
I don’t think anything has been ‘confirmed’ for canon in regards to them, but I do think they’re as close to being canon without it being outright stated. In the recent Character Data Book, they’re relationship was described as ‘being reeeaallly good friends~ <3 ) so I think that says a lot lol
But CLAMP have a certain way of showing deep feelings between two characters and Kurogane and Fai check off all the boxes.A) Sacrificing of blood for the other person
When Kurogane offers up his blood to have Fai turned into a vampire to save his life, and thus binding the two of them together for as long as he shall live because he would be Fai’s only food source. He can never return home either, which is one thing he wants more than anything, because Fai is running from his past and won’t settle down in one place for too long. But he would follow him to Hell and back if it meant keeping him safe.
B) Loss of limbs
Kurogane willingly cuts off his own arm to save Fai’s life because he refuses to leave him behind to die. There is no hesitation, no second thoughts, just a burning desire to save the one person he cares about more than anyone else. A man who’s goal was to be the stronger than anyone, makes this sacrifice because he finally understands what True Strength is.
C) Offering up magic
Because of the sacrifice Kurogane has made to keep him alive, Fai trades away the last of his magic to Yuuko for an artificial arm to replace the one lost. Had those earlier sacrifices not been made, he wouldn’t have traded it because his magic is what keeps him alive. But after running and hating himself, wishing he could die, he’s finally ready to live, because for the first time in his life, someone actually cared about him, someone who hasn’t lied to him, or used him for their own gain.
Not to mention this little gem here
What Fai is wearing is a Furisode, which is worn by young, unmarried women in Japan, or in this case, worn by the male lover of a warrior (like Kurogane)
This post got long lol but yeah, even if it’s never confirmed officially as canon, I feel pretty comfortable with thinking that it is
May Trope Mayhem #1 - Secret Relationship
Honkai: Star Rail, Aventurine/Ratio (or vice-versa if that's important)
Disclaimer: this ficlet was written canonblind
For shay!
"I'm sure that you don't want anyone to know about our little…trysts, doctor," Aventurine purred. "Hmph," said Dr. Ratio, clearly not pleased. "Very well. I certainly do not make it a habit of announcing my personal relationships to all and sundry. You have no need to worry that a dalliance with me will impinge upon your glamorous lifestyle." "What," said Aventurine. Ratio didn't answer but began gathering his and Aventurine's scattered clothing from where it had been flung about the room, dropping Aventurine's coat on his head. "Doctor, I meant for the sake of your reputation," Aventurine said, slightly muffled. "It isn't a good look to be associated with someone like me.” Ratio gave him a sharp look. "Do you truly believe that I would worry about such a thing? The opinions of the ignorant are not something I concern myself with." Aventurine, now shrugging back into his clothes, gave him an unreadable look before a self-depricating smile appeared on his face. "Ah, so you're saying such an insignificant relationship won't matter in the end. Well-" "What I am saying," Ratio said sharply, meeting Aventurine's eyes so intensely that the other was unable to look away, "is that I am not ashamed to be with you.”
