One time I made a post about how Viktor and Yuuri are equally beautiful, but we're introduced to Viktor as "I'm dazzling and I know it" and later find out he's an adorable puppy, but we're introduced to Yuuri as a cutie who thinks nothing of himself and later find out he can be hot as fuck when he acts confident, so they're going in opposite directions in terms of the impression they give. But I phrased it so badly people assumed I thought Yuuri isn't pretty. And I felt like. You never saw me draw him did you.
felt the urge to share this one again with my artist’s notes under the cut. good luck it’s illegible
* I discovered Baikal when one of my Russian teachers in university brought a bottle for the last class of the year and was in the trenches for several years because I didn’t know where I could buy any. Now I know :>
* I love cranberry drinks #utipreventionsquad
* My grandma used to make her own jam when I was younger and I still think nothing compares to her homemade jam. So (well-made) jam treats instantly take me back to childhood
* Bullet with Butterfly Wings: honestly I wanted to add a quote but it’s just. it’s the whole song. think of Yuri and listen to it. see okay you agree
* Yard of Blonde Girls: second verse
* To me: grandparents’ house is the one place you know you’re loved unconditionally when things aren’t great at “home”. It’s kitschy and the wooden furniture is uncomfortable, the pillows are old and hard, but when you’re sat at the table with herbal tea and biscuits you don’t mind as much. It’s the coolest, safest place that exists. That’s what I wanted to draw
* Someone has to explain why I looked up soviet apartments to get a feel for what to draw and was like “wow! that’s my grandparents’ place” and then I grew up in Normandy, France so definitely not anywhere close
* I tagged otayuri but if I’m honest I think this one specifically takes place around Yuri’s sixteenth birthday in my head so they wouldn’t be dating yet but whatever
