[sits up straight at 3 AM] It's taboo for Discworld dwarves to reveal their gender outside of courting. And yet, Carrot calls his dwarf parents "Mum and Dad." How does this work? Is gender just taboo for dwarves to reveal outside of an immediate family context, either by birth or by marriage? Or is "Mum and Dad" the phrase dwarf children use to address both parents at the same time, not knowing which is which but assuming the right person will answer to the right word? Do dwarf children know which one of their parents is which? Do they know the gender of their siblings???

it absolutely breaks my heart that we only get to spend one book with the little wizard girl esk. she is simply the character of all time. 9yrs old, autistic, turns her brother into a pig, sets off on her own adventures the moment granny’s back is turned - at least twice. literally just ‘oh i guess im on my own now’ gonna go across the world

i really wanted to hear about her studies and innovations and shenanigans !

I love the feegles, they're some of my favourite characters in the Discworld, largely because of their names. Like. Rob Anybody is definitely meant as an instruction, but Not-As-Big-As-Medium-Sized-Jock-But-Bigger-Than-Wee-Jock Jock is just a fabulous name for a fabulous guy. Also the toad being the feegles' lawyer.
