Rewatching Steven Universe I am noticing the ungodly amount of neglect the crystal gems have put Steven through. They have left him alone for days on end to fend for himself, he was only 12, I understand some families have to but they do not. Not to mention the fact Greg never stepped in.
Then there's the amount of mental and physical trauma they put Steven through. All in the name of saving the Earth, why didn't they do anything? The gems, yes Steven is a diamond but, they depended on him way to much. He was a kid and they treated and expected him to be as mature and powerful as Rose, Pink Diamond, they made him become mature. They made him become powerful, and not in the ways he needed. They depended on him for their emotions, they pushed his body to the absolute limit, they rarely allowed him to process emotions or be a kid, they rarely ever validated his feelings and they made him feel less than.
AND, YES, I KNOW THIS IS A CARTOON AND NEEDED FOR THE STORYLINE. I just like talking about, I think it's still important to point out and identify that it isn't ok.
Anyway. Can you tell how much I've gotten into Steven Universe, again, in just a few day?

Realistically speaking, the Zoo Men have or will have had to procreate family. I mean, they said it hadn't gotten new specimen for a millenia. That's 1,000 years, therefore they had to have yknow, "keep it in the family." Just a thought.
My art teacher has put me back in the strangling grips of Steven Universe. 😐
I was in it's grips from 2013 till 2020, cartoons have always been my special interest, but usually the cartoons I watch are kinda like subsections of my special interest. I just hyperfixate on specific cartoons. But, Steven Universe, it was just completely different. Shit took over my life and it'd doing it again. I can't say I'm angry about, but still.

(I'll be using she/her pronouns for Tina. I'll also make a more in depth version on Tina, but I wanted to talk about her writing.)
The Belcher family seems to accept and even encourage Tina's writing, even though it's erotic. They understand it's her outlet, and it's where her creativity and writing skills grow. Even Louise things her writing is good, whether it's true support or her malice coming through or maybe both. Bob thinks it's odd, but still asks about what she's writing. Or atleast the less smutty ones. Its teenage fantasy, she mixes it with crafts she enjoys. I wonder if she has intrusive thoughts that she translates into stories. I'm unsure, I've been numbed to most of my intrusive thoughts, maybe not so for Tina. I just think, while she is a teenage with grow sexuality, she said she's perved up everyone basically, so who knows. Tina will likely become a writer, especially with her family's support. She is a very creative person, even outside of her, "Erotic Friend Fic." I think she'll become a great and known novelist or maybe a screenwriter.
Bob's burgers Headcanons, but I try to not go into too much detail:
Bob Belcher is Bisexual
Bob hang out, platonically, with the deli guy
Bob had to face his fear of touch when he met Linda, and now loves to cuddle, but secretly
Bob has autism
Tina is a trans girl, and poly
Tina, Zeke, and Jimmy are in a poly relationship
I think Tina is autistic
You know horses and writing are her special interests
Linda's an ally, maybe poly, but otherwise an ally
You know Linda would give the best cuddles-
Linda probably has adhd
Linda is probably a functioning alcoholic
Louise is also bi
I ship Louise with Jessica or Rudy, while I enjoy the fact Millie is coming to understand boundaries, but I don't know if I could ever date a past stalker. I don't think Louise would either
Louise is terrified of lightning and thunder, like horribly terrified
Louise has tourettes
Louise is an anarchist
Gene has adhd, he has mild tics
Gene is genderfluid and pan
Gene had his first guy crush on Alex
In there future I think Gene would end up with Courtney, I think Gene and Alex is cute, but long term Alex isn't the best for Gene

(I'm gonna use he/him pronouns for Bob Belcher)
I think Bob Belcher is bisexual. I really like the headcanon as a whole, but there's actual proof to back it up. We see little representation in shows, and while it's not technically confirmed it seems like it could be true! We see him be quite accepting of other lgbt characters, like in the episode 6 of season 1, when trans prostitutes enter his cab he correctly genders them. (This episode is definitely not ideal, and there is a discussion whether their trans women or cross dressers. But, that's a whole other issues and discussion.) We also see he corrects people when anyone misgender Marshmallow or any other characters. We see this when Linda calls Marshmallow handsome, Bob corrects her calling Marshmallow, "beautiful." While being accepting is basic human decency, there are a lot of crapy people.
We also see Bob say, “I’m straight,” Bob insists. “I mean, I’m mostly straight.” When the deli guy insists Bob is trying to flirt with him, in season 4, episode 5. I think Bob's preference is about 60% into women and 40% into men. We can see him, Linda, and even Teddy talking about men together. He'd probably have a lot of internalized homophobia, probably from his father we already see that Bob's dad gave him a lot of issues. So, it's not improbable. I think he'd be extremely accepting, a bit confused maybe, but nontheless.
(For everyone's convenience:

I'm using he/him for Bob, and Gene he/they)
So I was watching Bob's Burgers, and I found some interesting things to talk about. Or I guess proof for myself Gene is Neurodivergent. I feel he has Adhd and/or Autistim. I've felt this for a while, and have been feeling it more as I went on, but episodes 12 and 18 of season 7 really solidified Gene being neurodivergent. In episode 12, Like Gene for Chocolate, we see Gene has a bit a meltdown when he finds out his favorite chocolate has changed. We also hear multiple times through the episode that Gene is a quitter, or he can seem to finished things when there are obstacles. There many scenes that solidified my thoughts in this episode alone, and watching episode 18 did even more so. We see when Gene and Bob go into the planetarium and the show starts Gene immed seems to be sent into a sensory overload. All the lights and music, it was way to much sensory to quickly for Gene.
Also the way Bob jumped into action, even though this meant alot to him he left and let him calm down. He even showed him his own version of the show, he pay 45 extra dollars so Gene could see the end of the light show, we see Bob learning and making him DIY earplugs. I could go on about how much I love Bob and Linda as parents, but I shall concede that talk here for now.
(I'm sure there are more examples and I will do a more in depth version with way more example and really delving into, but I just wanted to post this here real quick before I forget and as a reminder to start writing that more in depth version. You might get it in 4-20 business day, my business days are however inconsistent. I wish I found this show sooner, I feel so at home in who Gene is, I feel him and that he is neurodivergent, like me!)
For my first post I'm gonna give some headcanons for Gene, he is one of my favorite characters from Bob's Burgers!
(I will use he/they pronouns in this one, I will always preference what pronouns I'll use for who.)
Let's start of with his gender, I think he's genderfluid. Although, another possible headcanon I could agree with a trans girl or bigender headcanons. I think the way they express themselves is a great example of when people support their kids they can thrive, I think his pronouns would he/they/she. We see in the show, Gene's pronouns seem to change, where there are some scenes where he was referred to as sister and such. I think it's honestly so pure and amazing, it's clear their sisters love him and his parent too! Gene is an interesting child, I truly like how the show displays him as an actual kid! We rarely see this in many adult cartoons an more, the big 3 (Simpsons, American Dad, and Family guy) I could go more in depth in a later post. I could see Gene as Pansexual/Panromantic.
I think that's it for now, I'll see you next time, thanks for reading! Adios.
