Zim not remembering the alphabet song is not surprising, but I think that the reason Dib was having such a hard time remembering the words to the song(s) he was trying to sing is that his dad never sang him nursery rhymes as a young child.

And new idea. Before Membrane dies, he's found 50% of the cure. Zim and Dib try to find the rest of it by themselves, going through apocalyptic space with the small amount of fuel they have.

Probably to that one Vortian lab...even if it's full of infected aliens.

ok it's 3am but

invader zim au where there's an intergalactic zombie virus and because the irkens have conquered a bunch of the universe a bunch of invaders are carriers of the virus

naturally a large part of the irken empire begins to go all zombified and is dying off more rapidly than other species

so it's incredibly unsafe in the universe and once most of the irken race dies off and panic is arising throughout all of space zim is forced to stay on earth with his mission now having zero real purpose whatsoever

zim was always going to be safe on earth since it's a relatively unknown planet in the deserted part of space... UNTIL OTHER ALIENS HAVE NOWHERE ELSE TO GO

earth becomes increasingly popular among whispering survivors for being a nowhere-place that's quarantined from the rest of the universe and yet has sufficient vegetation, food and all.

it is zim's pressuring role to save the last place he could possibly survive in; his last resort.

meanwhile, dib has noticed a change in zim's behavior and a large drop in plans. he's become more quiet, which is an indication that something is seriously wrong in the world (or...universe).

he's more afraid.

when it finally arrived, gir had shown his master soemthing on the tv: a news channel announcing the discovery of a new virus within a human being.

yadda yadda,

watch as two mortals enemies are forced to join forces with their lives on the line as the world they once knew collapses before their eyes.
