you find asterion invading your dreams more and more often.

at first it had been subtle. you'd caught him in the corner of your eye, saw him dash away before you really saw him.

he pulls away. his azure eyes sparkle, his freckles shimmer. a blush dusts his cheeks.

he feels... giddy, in this moment. all around you, your dreamscape reflects his emotions, glittering with stars, pulsing with galaxy-light in time with his heartbeat.

"you're so pretty," he repeats. this time, his voice is awed, as if astonished that you'd choose to be with him, of all people.

"you're even prettier," you tease. you raise a hand slowly, running your fingers against the splatter of stars across his face, over the small, jagged scar on his cheekbone. "you're as pretty as the stars, asterion. maybe even prettier."

and asterion can feel heat press at his eyes, can feel the sting of tears in his nose.
