((I realise that I haven't been hugely active but I'd just like to drop in a note to say that if anyone would like to RP then drop Tisane an ask and you're all awesome...have some headcanon discussion from when I was just starting out:

Mi: if she [Tisane] were human she'd probably have been flexibly vegetarian on and off but I'm not sure how beveragefolk eat

Mika: I'm not sure how they eat.

I know mountain dew and Dr Pepper once ate pizza

Mi: she'd also frequent charity shops (in a fairly laid-back way, not to any sort of routine) and second-hand book shops and cafes

there is no canon

Mika: Yeah

Whatever you want

I know Lipton really likes drinking tea

But she is tea

Mi: I kind of want there to be one because I want to know whether to draw her in a kind of huge tabletop environment with landmarks of its own or inexplicably out in the world

Mika: In the world I think

They're human sized

Mi: Part of what I like about Tisane is she's a person who I can imagine drinking herbal tea

Mika: Yeah C:

Mi: no but how do you know that? Maybe they aren't human-sized but they live in a proportional universe

Mika: Well they've made remarks to inches and stuff

So unless they've scaled down the measurement system

Mi: yes but that's just in the universe they live in so we don't know, that might be the case. Inches might mean something different to beverages

Mika: Hm

Good point

Mi: and then there's the same problem I have with once-lers

Mika: Hah

Mi: are they surrounded by lots of beveragefolk or-?

Mika: I would think they all live in the same universe

Mi: are their parents beveragefolk and if so are they the same beverage as their children or something that adds up to the children?

Do they reproduce at all?

Mika: But unlike the once-lers it's just beverages, no actual people

Mi: there are people somewhere, because why else would there be drinks

Mika: I mean most of the beverages are Gay

They probably are created by people

Mi: haha, yus, this is tumblr, but maybe sexes have no meaning here, just genders, hence the genderbeding

Mika: Yeah

Mi: but then will they one day all be consumed?

Mika: That's how they die?

Mi: when somebody dies one day is it "he's been drunk"?

Mika: Haha, yeah

Mi: but then they can't die due to being stupid, only if they get spotted by a human?

Or is it more complex than that?

Mika: I imagine the beverages are in some sort of alternate universe

Parallel to ours but not quite in it

Like a hypothetical universe

Mi: maybe all of this is based in a world beyond reality, a conceptual world and when someone 'dies' they're booted out of it and into the corporeal wold. Like the opposite of human mythos on dying?

Mi: So then the beverage world is whatever it wants to be but with beveragefolk instead of humans, and their needs are slightly different

Mika: Exactly

This is why I like talking to you

Mi: The same for you

Mika: We get shit done

Mi: hehe

I mean, not ‘shit’ of any significance

but it still feels like a breakthrough

Mika: Well I know that they call their houses and the neighborhood is the fridge

Mi: O-or, their human forms are just representations of them, they in fact behave just as drinks would do but we depict them this way (according to artist's preference) because drinks' expressions are really hard to read and the human mind can't understand them

Mika: So like... It's what our brain translates

Mi: yus

Mika: Because we can't comprehend what actually is happening

... wow

Mi: with bizarre integrated references to 'the fridge' in a desperate effort to apply it to drinks

exactly!

and that explains any inconsistencies because everyone's brains are handling it differently

different aspects reflecting a deeper truth

me: like, my personal headcanon is that they can revert to drink can form at will, and do so when dead or unconscious. So everyone sleeps in a chiller or their own drink's place and therefore a beveragefolk graveyard is rows upon rows of empty cans and mugs and cups

but another person might see it as something resembling our own graveyards but with freezerboxes full of inanimate liquid that was once a beverage-person

in fact these are both reflections of a truth which is on another spiritual/dimensional level which our brains attempt to process in different ways

'as long as I get somewhere'

I don’t know about a ‘good time’, Cider, it always feels like something I need to do, going walkabouts, so really it’s sometimes almost…less free. It’s strange, certainly that my ‘great perhaps’ turns out to be so abstract that I come back with nothing really to tell. I think a real adventure would be more than that, somehow, and so the search continues.

Ah, I understand of course. I never really keep in touch with the people I leave behind, the fault rests on me I’m afraid. Thanks for not coming after me, Cider, I appreciate it really although it’s nice seeing you again. I see now that I missed you.

As for uneventful, Cider, I find that hard to believe! When I last talked to you it sounded like you had a life to look forward to indeed, did you…er…meet anyone special by any chance?

-tsks slightly and shakes her head, a small smile forming- Miss Tisane, have ya every considered that maybe the reason you have this “great perhaps” business of yours is because yer lookin’ in the wrong place? -she motions to the orchard around her- Maybe ya need to settle down, stay in one place. I know I can’t convince a free spirit like yerself to do anything it doesn’t want, but I’m allowed to try… aren’t I? I’m glad that ya came back, but what if I never wanted you to leave? -gulps and looks at the ground, realizing what she has just said- Ah, I mean, you were a right little angle to talk to… always had something witty stashed up yer sleeve, ya did. I missed that about ya.

-she blushes- No, I don’t have anyone special… I never had the time to look before now, with family work an’ all that. I’ll wager you don’t have a lover either, lest ya wouldn’t’ve come here.

Maybe you're right, Cider, you usually are *Tisane takes a bite from the apple* maybe I do. I'll...*Tisane's voice is thick suddenly* maybe I'll have to search a little closer to....home. As you say, perhaps it's a case of finding *Tisane gulps* where home is. All I can say is that, while I'm not exactly full of remorse for leaving I am...I'm glad that I 'came back' if that's what this is going to be I'm glad. If this is a return then- then maybe I should look back a little more often.

I was selfish- I am selfish to do that and to keep doing that but I can't promise I won't again. Aren't we all selfish, in the end?

*Tisane looks at Cider again, is struck with a thought and smiles* but I really do hope that you can keep me coming back.

-they walk to the orchard, where the trees were turning red and multiple shades of orange and gold. Cider plucks an apple from a nearby tree and offers it to Tisane with an exaggerated bow- For you, my dear, the ripest o’ apples.

-she straightens up, blushing- Y’all have to forgive me, me, talkin’ to ya always brought out my less serious side…

So, ah, so much time has passed… -rubs her arms awkwardly- where do I start?

*Tisane accepts the apple with a curtsy* Not at all, good sir, don’t ever apologise for yourself, you are wonderful *she grins at Cider and then turns her face aside slightly, suddenly interested in the apple in her hands. she smiles at it secretly and then composes herself* you really are.

Let’s see, the last time I saw you was Summer ‘09…I erm moved away in a hurry. Cider, I should have said goodbye. I had to go, I felt trapped. Maybe one of these days I’ll become more reliable, eh? I’m giving it another try now, I suppose…Anyhow, after that I was on my way, looking for myself again, there’s not so much to tell. But how about you? What happened after I left?

No need to apologize, Miss Tisane, I understand perfectly. -she rubs her arm again- More than ya would guess, I’ll wager. It sounds like you had a good time, wanderin’ around these parts. I thought of ya often… Ahem! Ah, life’s been good to me, as you’ve probably guessed. My life has been largely uneventful. I moved out, got a home in this fridge… And the next thing ya know, I meet you… I still can’t believe ya found me after all these years! I wasn’t trying to avoid you, but you didn’t seem to want to find me again either. I had long ago given up on findin’ ya again.

Ah, hello back. Have you lived here long?

I'm... fine, darling, how are ya? I haven't seen you around in a while. Are ya planning on stickin' in one place this time, or are ya just poppin' in before movin' off again?

Oh, I don't know, Cider. We'll see how things turn out. There are so many people here and so much going on, I never saw myself somewhere like this but, hey, here I am for a while at least so I guess we'll see.
