I hear a noise And I mute the TV Sounds like yelling But who could it be Turn up the TV Oh no not again But they are right at the door Now I jump to the floor The shouting is louder and we’ve been here before There’s a bat in hand and he calls her a whore Now this is war Knees to the floor Shouting at the door Turn up the TV We’ve been here before

A child sits on the floor Her parents behind the door Wait there is more Something askew Nobody knew From four to three She left thee And He left me

Drowning in emotion Swallowing confusion Diving into a vain existence Blinding light Piercing darkness Consumed by terror The end seems effervescent But still it is no where near  Now ever so slowly drowning in fear
