Light vs. Dark

There's a constant battle within me,

Light vs. Dark,

And on some days, light wins,

The light shines on me and radiates nothing but happiness and positivity,

The light brings out a bright and bubbly me,

A hearts and rainbows me,

A stable me,

But some days,

Oh some days, the darkness wins,

Consuming me,

Taking over me,

I try to tell the darkness to go away,

But it knows I love to invite it in,

And it knows I'm too familiar with it,

The darkness knows me, inside and out,

It knows sometimes I embrace it with open arms,

It knows sometimes I want to succumb to it and maybe even be it one day,

The darkness knows that I have a hunger for it,

A thirst for it,

A deep and passionate love for it,

And I love when it has its way with me,

I feel more open when the darkness dances with me,

Holds me,

Caresses me,

And the darkness knows I will always give it permission to do whatever it wants to me,

I have light inside of me,

But I also have a darkness lurking deep in me,

The light fights for me,

The light tries to push the darkness out,

But, the darkness pushes back,

HARD,

And the darkness knows its winning,

And the darkness knows it's close to taking over me.
