IT HURTS!!!

Do you guys have those days where luck just isn’t on your side. Well for me I felt like I had now luck this entire week. My cows had gotten sick recently and a few of them had died. After that there was a really bad storm that damaged our crops and destroyed one of our neighbor’s barn. When I went to look at the damage, I found out that many of the new seedlings that we planted were destroyed and that the soil was to wet and muddy to replant the crops for a while. And just when I was about to leave the fields and go back home I slipped and fell onto the ground and hurt myself pretty badly. When John found out about it, he laughed saying that it happens quite often and that I’m lucky that my injures weren’t as bad as the ones other people had gotten. So right now I don’t know what to do. I’m just sitting down waiting for my injury to heal and for the soil to dry up.

It’s a Bo.......RIP, its a pair of girls

It’s a boy! It’s a boy! Oh... wait.....It’s a girl. In fact there are two of them and no boy. It’s a little sad that one of them wasn’t a boy, but I’m still happy. They are so cute, and make the nicest cries. So this is what it feels like being a father, it’s a great feeling. We deiced to name the older one Agathe and the younger one Dana. If you are wonder about Johanna, she’s doing fine. She is a little tired after giving birth, but nothing to serious. I got Johnathan to look at the girls to see if they were healthy and he said they were so I’m hoping they will do fine. Since they girls are born and the harvest season is over I, I sold the yield that we got to the market and bought some warmer clothes and blankets, as well as a large amount of firewood. I really don’t have much to write about since I’m busy taking care of the kids. *cries* I got to go and help out Johanna now bye.

Make it Grain

Harvest season is almost around the corner and the crops are looking fine. There are beans, corn, pumpkins, and tons of grain. I have also gotten some farm animals such as cows, chicken, sheep, and a horse for me to use to go to town. We’ve also gotten a new puppy that I hope I can train to herd the animals. And were almost about to have our first baby in a few weeks.

New friends

Its been a week since we have moved into the new house. Many of our new neighbors came to greet us and brought us gifts. John and his wife Anna live in the house next to ours. They just had their first child not to long ago so Johanna likes to go talk to them about what to do to prepare and know what to expect. Our other neighbors who live on the other side of our house are a sweet elderly couple. Jonathan and his wife Elizabeth live together on their son’s farm. Their son John isn’t around too often since he has another job in town. Jonathan also is a doctor and knows a lot about medicine. There are also other neighbors, but their names all start with JOHN!!! So there is no point in talking about then unless you want to get confused. I remember that my wife said to ask John for help, but I didn’t know which one to ask. Why can’t they have more distinctive names? On a side note, I won’t be posting for a couple months till harvest season.

Looking Sturdy

This is the new house that we just bought house and surrounding land. There is about 130 acres that we can use to plant crops and raise animals. The house is sturdy and spacious and I really love it, but my wife keeps saying that she doesn’t like the color. And I have really good news to go with the house.  Johanna is pregnant!!! I’m hoping its a boy so that he can help me tend to the crops when he grows up.

The Rough Journey

Hello again, I’m right now on the ship on my way to Pennsylvania. I was planning on posting once I reached Philadelphia, but the journey is so rough that I might die before I reach land. The boat keeps rocking back and fourth so much so that I keep puking everywhere. Now I know why they call the top deck the puke deck. The puking is the least problematic thing that I encountered so far. The cabins are small and there isn’t much space. Every night when I try to sleep I keep rolling onto the ground and hitting stuff because the boat keeps rocking. One time I woke up by getting my face hit with the door when someone wanted to check on me. I still feel the pain and splinters left by that door. And the worst part was that the ships, main mast almost broke which would have delayed us further. Well I better rap this up, I still have at least 4 weeks left till I reach land. So I hope you all have a better...........(puking sounds)

A New Start

Hello all my lovely readers and fans, my name is, Yannick Heidemann. I am a 30 year old German that is on my to Pennsylvania to start a new life. I’m currently traveling across the ocean with my wife, Johanna. We are both working as indentured servants for 2 years for our master who kindly paid for our trip here. You might be asking why I want to go to Pennsylvania? Well... it all started a while back in Germany. I had just gotten married not that long ago and had a pretty good life. But one night I had gotten too drunk and gotten into a problem. Due to that problem it became hard for us to live in Germany so we deiced to pack our things and leave. I had heard that there was a really welcoming British colony in the new world that accepted all religions and had lush and fertile lands. So I’m taking my chance and trying to become a farmer.
