anyway let's talk about how the born this way scene is the NEXT scene tj appears in after "breaking up" with kira - a relationship that was heavily coded to be about kira manipulating him based on his insecurities about being gay. he stood up to her manipulation (cyrus never made me pick) and then he went over to andi and he said "hey, i wanna do something. you've got a keyboard, right?" (born this way was definitely an on-the-spot thing to some extent. they didn't have the guitar planned out)
