two hours
Just two small hours divide our clocks, but time can be a paradox. Two hours stretch like oceans wide, the longest distance I’ve ever tried.
We share the darkness, you and I, beneath the same star-scattered sky, Yet I lie awake and cannot sleep, because the peace I crave from it runs deep.
It lives in thoughts of holding you, In dreams of what we’ll someday do, When voices finally become real, When I can touch what now I can only feel.
Through video calls and midnight chats, through voice notes, laughs, and all of that, I’ve fallen for someone I’ve never held.. A frustrating heaven, a delicious hell.
So I fight back sleep and chase instead the hope that in some dream-world bed, our sleeping minds might find a way to meet between our night and day.
But fear keeps me silent, keeps me still.. and I’m terrified my heart will overkill Too much, too fast, too fierce, too soon, A sun that rises before the moon.
And since I don’t know where your limits lie, I’ll hold back, not speak and wonder why I can’t just say what burns in me.. You see, I’m scared of my own intensity.
So draw the line, my love, my dear, Set the boundaries, make them clear, and I will guard them all my days, I’ll never cross them, come what may.
Just give me patience while I learn to read which way your comfort turns, I’ll memorize each curve, each look, each space, to keep forever my careful place.
Because the only thing I need, the only dream, the only creed, is simply this: to make you smile, It’s to make each moment worth your while.
To hear your laughter fill the air, To know that somewhere you still care, To see you cry with tears of joy In dreams where distance can’t annoy.
So here I wait, and here I stay, Through every night and every day, Through screens and voices, words that glow, Loving you, never letting go..
not with my hands, nor with my soul, You’ve somehow made my broken whole, The distance vast, the longing deep, But loving you’s a vow I’ll keep.
