For what it’s worth....

I totally get that people are upset about JT signing with Toronto but burning his jersey is really shitty. Like he didn’t get out of bed and decide, “You know how I could personally victimize my fans today?” Like he CHOSE to go to Toronto because it made the most sense for him at this stage in his career. He gets to further himself as a player in a rejuvenated franchise while also fulfilling a childhood dream. Take a second and think about how cool that is! You don’t have to like it but guess what...it’s not about you! It’s about JT and what is best for him. So feel free to grieve the loss of JT for the Isles but don’t be an asshole about it.

This season has been an amazing journey

From the Expansion Draft

To draft picks and fresh faces

There were some mistakes made along the way

And a mascot that might have needed a little time to grow to love

But it’s been an amazing ride, from a beginning that was cathartic for my city in ways I still can’t put into words

Through a season full of triumph

And times to just be a fan

They made it to where everyone said they couldn’t

And beyond

Win or lose tonight (and I really, really, really hope it’s win), I’m so glad I got on this train. I have no plans to get off anytime soon because I know the best is yet to come and the journey has been so much fun.

I love this team. I love their heart. I love their resilience. I love that we do not resort to cheap shots. I love that we are a family. I love that when one goes down, another steps up. I love when you play Pittsburgh, you play the whole city. I love the Pittsburgh Penguins with my whole heart.

They have given me the best two years and I will forever be grateful for them. Thank you for an incredible season, and an exciting run, boys. Can’t wait until next season!

I can’t. No three-peat. My heart is actually breaking for my boys. The pain is so real.

It’s been more than 3 years since we have faced a loss of this magnitude. There aren’t words for how that feels.
