i don't care that thaisha and vaelus are half a second away from sucking each other's tongues off at any given moment; azune going out of his way to teach bolaire the true pronunciation of his name is the most intimate goddamn thing i have seen in this entire show so far.
i know it's been weeks but i'm honestly still not over the reveal that his name is canonically unpronouncable within the phonological constraints of kahadi... and i haven't seen that much discourse surrounding this but frankly, i don't think the gut punch that was this moment needs to make sense to native english speakers the way it makes sense to the rest of us.
and when i say 'us' i mean everyone; from those that got fully, spontaneously rechristened by lazy teachers in the middle of math class and those that gave up and just started going by a nickname to those that hate to be that person but also can't help but keep trying to explain that names are translingual and do not adhere to phonological rules, so yes, i know that there's an english name that's written the exact same way that mine is but no, that doesn't change the fact that you're still not fcking saying it right..
