If there’s one thing I’ll give 2017 over 2016, it’s that it’s kind of stunning that the year is mostly over?
2016 felt like the year that would never die.
2017 is a hectic nightmare that never slows down enough for you to be aware of the passage of time.
accurate.
time flies when you’re having fuuuuuuuuuuccCCCKKKKKKKK
u know what i miss? all the bro posts
bro one *over the phone*: bro i miss those bro posts bro two: not as much as i miss your eyes bro bro one: bro
gentiles on this website: “The Old Testament God is cruel and vengeful!” actual Jews in my synagogue yesterday: “My favorite part of the reading is when it says the Torah is not in heaven so it’s too far to reach, it’s not across the sea so we can’t get it, but that it’s in our hearts… the idea of having that be so close, of being so close to something divine, that thrills me.” “And here, where it says ‘the Lord will delight in you as he did in your fathers’, that’s such a beautiful thing. You know, God is this all-powering being, and God delights in us.”
gentiles on this website: “You can’t be an atheist and religious!” actual Jews in my synagogue yesterday: “I’m just not buying any of this. I was born during the Holocaust and I could never wrap my mind around this omnipotent all-seeing God, and usually I’m a little moved by this, I try to be hopeful, but when I look around the world now, I just don’t buy it! If I really believed there was a God, I would resent him.” [still wears a prayer shawl and attends synagogue regularly]
gentiles on this website: “Religious people never question what they’re told, they just followed blindly!” my actual rabbi: “Sometimes the Torah can be like an older relative whom we love dearly, and who has a lot of wisdom to give, but who also says things that cause us pain, that we find offensive or wrong. And I think the wrong instinct would be to pretend we don’t hear what they’re saying, or to cut them out entirely, or to be guided by them into thinking and behaving in offensive ways. What we need to do is engage the Torah. We need to wrestle with it, and try to understand it, to figure out where it’s coming from and learn how we can progress from it, because the Torah is not unchanging. It belongs in each of our hearts, and it changes for us as we study it, as each generation challenges its old assumptions.”
if net neutrality gets killed, a bunch of idiots on the online are gonna blame the people who didn’t spend 100 hours calling miscellaneous high-level government officials, rather than the fact that said officials don’t give a solitary fuck about what the public wants

For Pride month, here’s a lovely “No TERFs Wanted” sign for your blog.
the first “wtf?” moment that lead to me to clocking one of my sibling’s MTF girlfriends was when she ate a quesadilla I made and said “wow that was really great! how do you make that?” like is there a college aged woman who thinks quesadillas are a mystery?
what does this mean
all women are conditioned to make quesadillas
women are defined by their biological ability to make quesadillas, it is from this that their oppression stems.
oh no how are yall gonna reblog this classic without the twist ending… that the chick was just being nice to her and lying that they were good because the terfsadillas were made with hummus…
Even if you don’t like Halloween you have to appreciate its position as the sole thing keeping Christmas from advancing even earlier into the year like a cancerous growth
The goth kids hold the line.

What I say: Country music blows
What I mean: Modern country music, especially songs sung by modern male country artists, revolves around similar themes of toxic masculinity and nationalism. The recurrent lyrics referencing guns, trucks, beer and girls in short shorts are uncreative and not entertaining in the least. However, older country artists and folk rock bands such as Creedence Clearwater Revival and Johnny Cash have stronger, more diverse themes and often carry an overt anti-war message. I hate the fact that what was once an interesting and powerful genre of music has now been claimed by gun-toting conservative bearded dudes, and it hurts my heart to say I hate country music when there are so many country artists that I very much enjoy, but cannot state the fact that I enjoy country music without being associated with the aforementioned group.
