Another Bristol stop:  St. Mary Redcliffe.  I’ve seen some of the most famous churches in England, but this was my favourite by far.

Some friends and I took a trip to Bristol to visit the city’s first cat cafe!  It’s hard to leave when there are delicious foods and drinks (with punny cat-related names!) and adorable cats and kittens curling up against you.

Old St. Mary’s churchyard is along my jogging route, and it’s the perfect place for some quick reflection.

Went to Bath City Farm with a friend and got this gorgeous view of the city!

Fancy dinner wasn’t enough for us---we followed it up with some posh drinks at the rooftop bar of The Varsity Club.

Our program is amazing and organised this fancy, super formal meal for us to end our time at Univ.

Have you caught on that I’m a Harry Potter fan? Of course you have, I’m an American studying in the UK.  

Highlights of Oxford:  Christ Church (aka the Great Hall [and other cool filming locations].

Why, yes, I studied at Oxford!  

No one has to know it was only for a week, right? ;)

Next up:  a brief stint at Oxford!   But first, let’s stop at Blenheim Palace.  The Spencers AND the Churchills?  Count me in.

The historian in me fell completely in love with Whitehall’s Banqueting House.

I had my Jane Austen trip already, so I had to take a Shakespeare stop, of course!   I’m (oh so basic and therefore) partial to Romeo and Juliet.  What’s your favourite?

I’m absolutely in love with Monet.  As in, if you told me that I was his wife in a past life, I would not be surprised.  

That being said, the Tate Modern was a hit in my book!

I was disappointingly underwhelmed by Buckingham Palace.  But Big Ben?  I was absolutely speechless.

What I most wanted on my trip to London was a plush Dobby.  They were sold out for weeks to come.  So, I contented myself with a Hedwig photoshoot.

Took a weekend trip to London a few weeks ago.  The Diana Memorial Fountain was by far a highlight!

If you’re a Jane Austen fan, you’re already vaguely familiar with my new home city:  

“They arrived at Bath.  Catherine was all eager delight; –her eyes were here, there, every where, as they approached its fine and striking environs, and afterwards drove through those streets which conducted them to the hotel.  She was come to be happy, and she felt happy already.”  –Northanger Abbey, Volume I, Chapter II

Of course, studying English in Bath leads to a Jane Austen class, and a Jane Austen class leads to an Austenian tour of nearby sites.  Pictured, we have her grave at Winchester Cathedral.

I’m becoming a regular at this amazing cafe...highly recommend it if you’re in the area!
