Please, not here … “ he said, walking beside her and wrapping an arm around his shoulders. “I’m not abandoning you. I promise, I would spend more time with you even if I’m out already … Don’t worry okay?” he said. Biting his lip, he spoke in a whisper. “I lied. Do you wanna know what really happened to our parents? What happened to you?”

“I just don’t want to lose you again, abe... I can’t help it.. I really miss my brother..” He said as he looked down in his lap. He tried wiping away the tears, not wanting to seem weak. “I do worry..” He said honestly as he nodded, “What do you mean? What happened”

“Because I’m your brother, Tobias … and other things.” he said, smiling before looking down. “I just need to catch up with life and all that. I’ve been in places like this way longer than I should. And about that not talking part … can I tell you something? It’s a secret.”

“I know you are my brother, but there’s no way that you know everything that I am thinking..” He said as he looked at his brother. He felt the tears forming in his eyes. “It doesn’t mean you need to abandon your brother again...” He sniffled and nodded, “Yes. You can tell me.”

“And you’re gonna eat it, Tobias. Every single delicious, frozen bit of it, understand? Doctor’s order and, obviously, brother’s order as well.” Abe said, pointing at Tobias with a insistent glare. Does he think he doesn’t know? “Uhm … don’t worry. I’ll visit you every time. That place is not as scary as it was before … “

“Why do you always know what I am thinking? And why do you keep leaving me Abe...? We just got back together and we have barely talked for weeks and now you are leaving..”

“Okay, so I ordered a rocky road sundae for me and a chocolate-strawberry sundae for you. You used to like that before. I’m hoping you still do?” Abe asked, sitting across Tobias with a smile on his face. They were sitting inside an old ice cream shop, a place where their mother used to bring them for their birthdays. “So … what’s your plan? I mean, can you handle yourself in there when I’m gone?”

Tobias looked at his brother as he nodded. “Yeah It’s fine.” He didn’t want to eat it at all, but he wasn’t going to break that to his brother. “I don’t really know... like...”

"Maybe he doesn’t know how to be a brother. You were separated, after all. He’s probably not used to having a family — and that doesn’t mean he’s avoiding you." He nodded. "You might be able to think that someday, but I understand that you can’t accept it right now." Ted let out a sigh of his own, shaking his head. "That’s the thing, Tobias — it really doesn’t make you feel better. You might think it does, but it’s just creating a bigger problem.”

"Even if he doesn't want to be a brother, he could still be a friend.. I just missed him so much and I thought he really cared about me." He said quietly and shook his head. "I got used to living without my brother and maybe I will just have to move on and stuff." He said to his therapise, "You're right, it doesn't make me feel completely better, but it makes me forget about the terrible things going on and the things that are going on in my head because I am focusing on the pain on my wrists."

Tobias bit his lip and moaned quietly, "Yes... I do want more.. Please." He whined out as he gripped his bed tightly.

Ted gave him a sympathetic smile. "I don’t think he’s avoiding you, Tobias — trust me, usually when you think something like that, you’re missing the mark by a large amount. He probably has a things of his own going on, and just isn’t in the places you look at the right times. And if he were avoiding you, I would blame him — you’re not bad company, you know. You seem like a nice guy.” He nodded slightly. "If you don’t enjoy it, don’t force yourself to do it. Isolating yourself isn’t good, but you don’t have to constantly be around other people if that’s not your thing. Drawing’s a good hobby, and it can definitely take your mind off — or help you deal with — the problems you’re facing. I would recommend not turning to cutting, though, since any affect you’re getting from it is negative. If you absolutely need to, try drawing on yourself instead.”

"I've seen him hanging out with his girlfriend or whatever all the time and he never comes to me and asks me how I am doing, so... i think he is avoiding talking to me." He said to his therapist. That's exactly how he thought. "Thank you for the compliment, but I don't think that is true at all." He said to Ted and sighed quietly. "I never thought to draw on myself, but after trying to draw and it doesn't work, I just turn to cutting and it does really help me feel better."

"I can't really find him to talk to him about anything anymore.. Sometimes I think he is just hiding from me and avoiding me.. I don't really blame him anyways." Tobias said quietly as he looked at him. "I don't enjoy talking to people as much as it looks.. I like talking to them a bit, but it's not the thing that I hate the most.. I really do like drawing though.. I draw how I feel and sometimes it helps... and sometimes it doesn't which is why I cut.. I always try drawing first, I promise you that. I'm not lying about that."

"He has barely even talked to me ever since I got here which has veen quite some time." He looked at Ted as he sighed to himself quietly, "I love my brother no matter what happens between us but we just haven't had a connection really since I have been here except for when I first got here. "I try playing video games which I really suck at." Tobi said with a small chuckle, "I try talking to new people but it just never seems to work.. I have also been drawing more and more as well."
