Hi, man! I found your blog scrolling through tags and saw that you shoot concert photos with the a7s. I was thinking about upgrading from my a6300 to one of those and was wondering if you could provide a little of your personal experience with the camera. I bet its amazing for really dark venues right?
Yoo I do indeed!! I haven’t used an a6300 so I dont know what the comparison would be. However my experience with my A7s has only been fucking great. The low light capability is m e n t a l. Obviously if you’re wacking the ISO up too high the image will end up being v noisey but I find myself shooting 250+ shutter and getting some really sick images still. I tend to use my pentax 50mm lens and got an adapter for it, its a 1.8 and honestly bc you’re shooting dark venues you’re gonna want a real good lens if you can afford it.
I’d also say if you’re sticking w photography have a look at the A7r because the A7s is more film based (still obviously incredible for photography but the A7r is the one that’re more dedicated to photography). Also look at the mark II’s for each because again they’ll be better if you can afford it.
All in all, its a super lightweight small bodied camera, with incredible quality, great low light capability, and all the little settings help so so so much. Only bad thing is the battery can drain p quickly but I’ve never had too much of a problem with it, if it does then you can buy another battery to keep it as a backup but tbh i’ve never needed one.

It seems to me that I can’t physically commit to any plans I actually create for myself...
The past few weeks, since my last post, I’ve been so hyped for creativity and yet I haven’t really done anything. I don’t know why, whether its stress with this latest university project or whether the suppressive atmosphere university creates unintentionally is in fact well...suppressing me.
The only REALLY creative thing I have done and actually finished is two small scripts which honestly I don’t actually like. Maybe I’m spending too much time playing Smash Bros and reading VICE articles about drinking a bottle of weed lube. I also made a small stop motion piece in memory of David Bowie after his horrifically sad passing (in which I cried to Space Oddity but that’s another matter). I never actually released that. I wanted to pair it with a cover of Space Oddity I’d done as well but only the cover was released on my soundcloud.
I could say that I will make a plan, a promise, to make more things and to write more and to actually go through with this plan. Will that happen? Probably not. Will I still make this plan/promise? Yep. However doing this is essentially the same as a lifetime smoker saying they’ll go cold turkey and never touch a cigarette again until the next day when they smoke 40. I say essentially. It’s totally different. I just wanted an analogy. I’m trash.
Ultimately I feel lazy, this isn’t helped by a large act of self deprecation in the form of a diet and certainly not helped by the lack of creative things i’m still doing/not doing.
I’ve walked past countless people in my university library who have sketchbooks filled with amazing art and I think part of me is scared that I won't get anywhere ultimately because I’m lazy. I’m a good bullshitter which is why I think most people think I’m getting on okay, I can tell them i’m doing this and that but in reality I kinda did those things but not really. I really need to not be so lazy, let’s actually do some creative stuff and hate yourself a little less.
