If Billy hadnāt known this was still Hawkins, Indiana, he might have thought that was true.
It was shocking enough that King Steve āThe Hairā Harrington had up and kissed him. For all Billy knew, Steve got it on with guys left and right. Although heād never heard a rumor.
They were still naked in Steveās bed.Ā
āStay,ā Steve had murmured, before dozing off.
You didnāt have to tell Billy twice. Now he swallowed, his gaze still fixed on Steve in the dim light of the bedroom.Ā
Steve had kissed him everywhere, even along the hard ridges of his scars. Steve had looked at him like he wasnāt a monster.
It had been so sudden. Theyād just been watching Animal House (again) and as the credits rolled, Steve had stared at him. Billy had allowed himself to stare back.Ā
They hadnāt said a word which Billy figured was better. He had no idea what the rules going to be or what Steve was going to say now. All he knew was, they were friends and hopefully they still would at least be that.
He had been holding it together pretty good for a while now. In fact, he was doing pretty well. He had a job he didnāt hate and he still went to therapy once a week because he knew now how to handle his shit. And sometimes there was shit.Ā

If Steve flipped and pushed him away, that would be an epic amount of shit.
