as excited as I am about seeing Todd so enthusiastic and on board with the whole Everything is Connected “holistic” thing, it kind of breaks my heart a little seeing him so desperately latching onto something he has only just been introduced to 

it bodes well for his faith in Dirk and his abilities (which is a v v good thing), but it also says a lot about how little he had to propel himself forward up until this point, and how quickly he’s willing to snap up any new form of hope or motivation. it also echoes somewhat hauntingly back to the similar, almost manic behavior he displayed when he thought he had experienced a “vision” of the future, and could subsequently go back and “fix everything” between himself and Amanda

tldr; Todd’s habit of latching onto and running with anything new that gives him even a faint glimmer of hope for the future is somewhat worrying to see, as he sets himself up for a lot of potential heartbreak and disappointment when he does

it’s so weird and powerful and freeing to see gay people, especially gay couples, in pop culture??? watching that clip i was like oh! that’s a thing! that’s a thing that can happen! we can exist, we can be on tv, we can be badass swordfighters, we can be the heirs to fairytale kingdoms, we can be star-crossed lovers, we can be in stories like this!!!! it’s such a short clip and it shouldn’t be this big of a deal to me probably but it genuinely fills me with so much hope
