Thank you also so much for helping me with my research! So many of you, much more than I dared to hope, have helped me out with my first survey and got me over 100 responses in only 48 hours. Once again I call upon your assistance. I have read your comments to my last survey, and decided that I needed to do a follow-up questionnaire in order to cater to what you wanted to share and expand the scope of information that would benefit my research. Please follow the link to the questionnaire Sapphic Sensuality and Lesbianism in Opera 2.0 and help a gal out? https://www.survio.com/survey/d/X8O9X3G1L3T4R4P5W
I am honestly so grateful for all your help, and Iām also so grateful for being a part of this online community for the past six years. This thesis started as an off-hand comment to a friend, but has grown into what I hope will be something that sheds light on a community of wlw opera lovers that is not often discussed by the people who make the decisions in the elitist art form that we hold so dear. I know that for myself as a baby lesbian who turned out to be an opera singer, being a part of this community where I could scream about my love of women in trouser roles and women being loved on by trouser roles has enriched and eased my life on several occasions.
So thank you all.

Please help me by filling this in! I 130 respondents to the first survey, so it would be great if I had as close to that amount on the second one as well, so my amount of data is equal and useful. šš¼š

Dear Queer Opera Lovers,
I have made a survey for the field research part of my thesis about lesbianism and sapphic sensuality/sexuality in opera as an art form and as an interpretation on the operatic stage. It would help me greatly if you could fill out these questions and/or share it with any gay, lesbian, otherwise saphically interested person you know.

Heterosexuals, do not be afraid: if you have a keen interest in the gayer side of opera, you may also fill out this survey. Everyone is welcome.
Thank you so much! š³ļøāš
Just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have already answered this questionnaire in less than 12 hours!!! Iām also already working on a follow-up survey that will take into account your answers to the last question. ā¤ļø

When soprano, Ellabelle Davis, appears in concert at the [blank] in [blank] on [blank], music lovers of this city will hear an artist who wrote musical history not long ago by becoming the first American Negro ever to have been starred by a major opera company of the world. Miss Davis is shown here costumed for the role of Aida, which she sang with the Opera Nacional in Mexico City, supported by a cast of stars from La Scala, Milan, and New Yorkās Metropolitan, which has traditionally closed its doors to colored singers.
