i also feel like i have a higher tolerance for dumbassery in television than in books on some level.

#like is this kinda corny yeah. but it's television.#also like. i feel like a lot of thriller novels that are cheesy plot wise are also like. kind of not well written prose wise either but #their tv adaptations are at least competently made and acted

i feel like this show is basically a mid thriller novel as a show and it did in fact originate as a mid thriller novel which i probably could have read faster than i watched the show. that being said the book would not have had sarah snook screaming and crying majestically in it.

#it's the same w the admittedly dumbass harlan coben netflix adaptations like i WILL be watching that shit. i tried reading his books but #they just didnt hit as hard bc they dont have richard armitage in them

also i know dakota fanning is in fact in her thirties and totally could be the upper middle class professional mother of a six year old but she could definitely pass for being in her early twenties and it is throwing me off.

#like i think the character is supposed to be a peer of the bougie moms at the school but she easily looks ten years younger than all of them #and i also dont think she and her husband are supposed to have a large age gap but it LOOKS like they do
