Metal Detecting: I found a GOLD Medal
The Second Balkan War was a conflict which broke out when Bulgaria, dissatisfied with its share of the spoils of the First Balkan War, attacked its former allies, Serbia and Greece, on 16 (O. S.) / 29 (N.S.) June 1913.
Serbian and Greek armies repulsed the Bulgarian offensive and counter-attacked, entering Bulgaria. With Bulgaria also having previously engaged in territorial disputes with Romania, this war provoked Romanian intervention against Bulgaria.
The Ottoman Empire also took advantage of the situation to regain some lost territories from the previous war. When Romanian troops approached the capital Sofia, Bulgaria asked for an armistice, resulting in the Treaty of Bucharest, in which Bulgaria had to cede portions of its First Balkan War gains to Serbia, Greece, and Romania.
In the Treaty of Constantinople, it lost Edirne to the Ottomans. Today, I had only one good and clean signal worth every meaning. At first sound of metal detector, it looks like aluminum, but I had to dig it out. Very hard soil. I spent six hours looking for a good find today, everything was garbage. I finally hit it!! The medal had a thick patina, lots of soil on it.
The brush was not helpful. but after some time, I saw a clear number on it.
The number is 1913!!! With the letter ''P'' on the back.
And the crown above the letter.
It was positioned like this, the first on the left side.
This is how it looks after cleaning, which lasted almost a few days.
It's a post-war medal established by the King of Serbia Petar I Karadjordjevic on November 25, 1913.
This Medal is a cross, made of bronze, gold plated, with golden polished edges.
The medal was made to remind the victorious Second Balkan War against Bulgaria.
From the face, in the middle, in a round medallion, the King Monogram with then was made, and on the back is printed year "1913".
