I am good. I am loved.
realizing it everyday
Why couldnât they give me a hug? Why did they say bad things to me? Why did they ignore me when I was bawling my eyes out? Why didnât they love me enough to be better parents?
I did my best to be lovable.
I wish I'd had proper parenting as a kid But oh, what the hell, don't you worry about it mom At least I was able to raise my brother well
Sometimes I wish the ground would open up and swallow me whole; I feel like thatâd be a great way to go
One of the worst realizations that I have ever made is realizing that all I ever wanted was to be loved by my parents. I never would've turned out like this if they just loved me unconditionally.
Is your love language really acts of service or were you raised with the sole purpose of being a caregiver for all of eternity??
being the gifted elder daughter be like: *is strong* *works hard* *overworks* *burns out before uni* *wants to move out* *hates mother* *loves mother* *hates father* *loves father* *unfair expectations* *breaks down* *I can make them think I'm fine* *someone help* *has three panic attacks but gets an A*
i feel like there's a point being the oldest sibling where you stop being your parents' child and start being just some person who happens to live in the house
Are you normal or do you have hypervigilence problems because you always had to be aware of your family members moods growing up in order to deescalate situations before the arose
canât emphasize enough how when you grew up in a toxic environment, being in the room with someone whoâs angry or frustrated - even if it has nothing to do with you - is absolutely terrifying cuz youâve been 1000% conditioned to assume frustration = all hell is going to break lose and be aimed directly at you
