Ah! The long awaited, last pt of the Madonna trilogy of my Feminine Archetypes Series!! I don't want to waste to much time so lets get into it!!

DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion, this is a generalization and not meant to target anyone in particular, this is for anyone who identifies as a woman or femme presenting, if that's not you, feel free to skip this read! Also, when I say Madonna vs Whore I'm not referencing anyone's sexual activity, orientation or preferences, I am ONLY using it in the psychological profiling sense of does this person possess what is considered status quo (Madonna) or go against that (Whore).

SUN - THE MANIC PIXIE DREAM GIRL

MPDG for short. So, before I get super into Sun dominant femmes, I want to kind of back-track and talk just a teensy bit more about Mercury (lmao, I know, so on brand for Mercury to keep talking lol).

I just want to differentiate Mercury a little bit more from the Sun and the Moon, and what kind of role they play in the evolution of the Madonna, especially differentiating from the Sun as I honestly think a lot of Mercury doms get mistaken for MPDGs until guys get a closer look.

I want to briefly mention Claire Nakti's videos on Sun dominant women purely just to say that I think she really did capture the essence of the MPDG and personally I do think it tracks with the Sun dom femmes that I've known personally (Two of my best friends at one point, one of them was a Krittika Sun, Uttara Ashada Moon and the other was an Uttara Ashada Sun, Uttara Phalguni ASC, had men liken them to classic MPDGs Ramona Flowers, Rory Gilmore and Penny Lane and had that same electric energy to them as seen in a lot of those movies and shows). By capture I mean this essence of fluttering into one's life then fluttering right out once the relationship has run its course.

Claire Nakti also noted that the planet in men that seemed to fall for these doms the most were Mars men, as this planet is one of the most confrontational planets on the matter of existence and what is more life-affirming than the Sun? I bring this up in relation to Mercury and the rest of this post because I think a lot of Mars men (and other kinds but for now just Mars) see Mercury and think they are Sun femmes.

Mercury & Sun femmes are two sides of the same coin. Both are fluttery, both are captivating in a contradictory and mysterious way, both are un-afraid of confrontation. So I see why a lot of Mars men flock to these women, however only Sun femmes spark life into these mens' hearts.

This isn't a good or bad thing, I've said in past posts and I will keep saying it because it's incredibly important to me to make sure anyone reading these posts understand that the purpose of these posts isn't to prove who is a better woman/femme or how to get the kind of man you want's attention by pretending to be something you're not. It's also not to punish any particular planet, end of the spectrum or archetype for any particular reason. I love women and femmes, I want femmes to succeed, I believe in the "Divine Feminine" not the "divine" Feminine (please read my last post to understand that reference). Besides, there are so many types of men out there, just because one particular brand of man likes one particular brand of feminine doesn't mean that that is the end all be all of attraction and peak femininity. I really believe there is someone out there for everybody.

Anyway, I bring it up, again, because in order to really differentiate Mercury from Sun femmes in this evolution of the Madonna, I feel like I need to talk about how Mars men react to the two. So, before, I mentioned Claire Nakti's take on Mars Men being existentialists, confrontational towards existence and I also find this extremely relatable as all of the Mars men I have gone out with thought they were Albert Camus or Plato (two out of the three actually siting Camus as their favorite author/philosopher) and what's more life-affirming than the Sun, the thing that literally gives life on earth. So why are we talking about Mercury?

There's this famous saying by Friedrich Nietzsche "if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you" and I feel like that is exactly the kind of dynamic Mars men and Mercury femmes have. Both Mars and Mercury like to ask questions, the only difference is (mostly when the debate is between a masc Mars and femme Mercury, I've known plenty of Mars femmes who are wonderful to engage in conversation because they ask as many questions as I do and there's no ego involved, but with masc Mars...) Mars wants to conquer, they want to confront.

Obviously, not all men 🙄, but a lot of Mars men like to test their mates. They're the kinds of guys that like to tease and poke and chase and at their worst - they neg. They ask questions not for the pure pursuit of knowledge (like Mercury) but because they want to prove a point to you, they must prove that they know better than you, that their manhood is secure in your presence (one of my Mars exes [Mrigashira Moon] literally told me to never correct him ever when I pointed out that he had made a mistake in one of his long-winded and what he thought was well researched lectures on something that I already agreed with. I promise this isn't a Mars man bashing post lmaoo). But Mercury... Mercury is going to ask questions as to why you feel that way. How did you come to that conclusion? Mercury might even point out that the way you've thought or the things that you've believed are fundamentally wrong. Mars has been defeated.

Mars can be incredibly emasculated by Mercury, especially considering how cynical Mercury can be (if you look at my archetype chart, which I think can apply to men and women as far as psychological profiling [not necessarily the names], Mars still operates emotionally under the Madonna. Men whose minds operate under the Madonna tend to possess very puritanical or "traditional" beliefs, at the very least only pursuing opportunities that they think align with their beliefs. But Mercury's mind of course operates under the Whore). Mercury looks like how Mars feels on the inside and vice versa (I've seen plenty of Mercury women fall for Mars men, myself included, because they look like the Whore, they look like how we feel on the inside), only to realize the other person is the complete opposite of you and who you thought they were.

But Sun femmes are different. They look exactly the way Mars men feel, but Sun femmes are smart enough to walk away after a while. Sun femmes occupy the last stage in the evolution of the Madonna because they've learned to balance the Madonna and Whore within them. They can't change the way they look, they can't help it if men are charmed by their implied neurodivergence, but they can control how they let these men affect them. Moon femmes seem to use their projected selves to their advantage, Mercury seems to fight it with everything they can, Sun femmes just simply walk away when they know it's not working anymore. That's the power of a Mother mind.

It also explains why Sun femmes can remain so warm after being so grossly misjudged and in a lot of cases taken advantage of, turning it into something meaningful and transformative (Fiona Apple Uttara Phalguni Sun and Moon, taking her abusive relationship with Paul Thomas Anderson and turning it into one of her most popular and highly regarded albums that still to this day brings comfort to millions of women and femmes).

They know it's not personal. I feel like it's also important to bring up again the purpose of the Sun. The Sun is representative of ego, it's how we see ourselves. Sun femmes know exactly who they are and they don't need anyone else to tell them that, they especially don't need anyone trying to change or "fix" them. Sun femmes know they have the power to define their own story, which is probably why they disappear from so many others'.

I want to quickly talk about the concept of "being perceived", I think it's a really scary phrase for many reasons, but I think for most of all because no matter how amazing, good, interesting, smart, talented a person might be, there is still always a chance that someone out there might not like you for any one or all of those aforementioned qualities. And unfortunately, I think Sun femmes are at the most risk of being perceived. The Sun is the brightest star in our solar system, it's also burning the most energy and one day it's going to burn out, shrivel up and die and everything as we know it will die with it.... Not to be bummer or anything lmao

But relating that to Sun femmes, I think they feel that more than anyone. They understand more than anyone that one day we are all going to die so might as well live while we can, right? And unfortunately I think this endearingly positive sentiment attracts an insane amount of attention and sometimes they don't know what to do with it, especially if the native is actually quite introverted (Fiona Apple, famously disappeared at the height of her career to take a break from fame, she's also stated many times in interviews that she is incredibly shy, often dealing with social anxiety and the fear of being perceived. Many other Sun dom celebrities, especially women are extremely private, Emma Watson, Uttara Phalguni ASC, another great example of a Sun femme who is extremely private with her life, also stepping back from the limelight at the height of her fame. Zooey Deschanel, triple Uttara Ashada, is currently engaged, stating "they just want an intimate wedding with guests who really care").

Sun femmes, especially from the perspective of Mars men and MPDG movies and shows, appear to only float in and out of people's lives when it's necessary for the protagonist to come to a life-changing revelation, but I think when we stop focusing on ourselves so much (ego) we realize that Sun femmes are very much real people (as are all femmes, just stick with me lol). I think the difference between them Mercury femmes are that Mercury has yet to integrate and master the idea that it's not personal. Sun femmes realize from an early age that people are going to judge them, people will stare and point and misread them but none of how other people perceive them is going to define who they are deep down. They know who that is, they were there when they used to run up and down the jungle gym really fast and jump off, catching just enough air for a couple extra seconds to feel like they're flying. They were there when they cut up all of their socks and made glittery, sock bunnies with the bluest blue buttons you could find because she just felt like making something. Mercury doesn't usually think about those things, they have tendency to forget, worrying about everyone staring at them and how everyone feels about them staring right back.

I say Sun femmes are really real people because at the last stage of the Madonna, she has found a way to cope with the pressure of being perfect while never apologizing for being imperfect. Sure, it's an immense burden to walk around knowing that that's how people feel about you, but if they can enjoy themselves for the time being before they have to move on to the next thing, it's worth the risk.

I think society gets so caught up in the ego's need for control (over our image, our careers, our relationships) that we forfeit the right to actually wield that kind of power that comes with possessing it. It's in this zen, go-with-the-wind attitude that ironically grants us the most control over our lives. I guess in that sense Sun femmes are very in and out of people's lives, so at peace with everyone else's and their own ego, that their mere presence feels profound. You will always remember and contemplate on your time with Sun femmes because of how sure of themselves they are. Of course, this can lead to, similarly with Moon femmes, an over-pedestaliazion, constantly being referred to as the one that got away or the first love, which is why I put them in the Madonna umbrella Archetype, but they are very far from something to inspire change without consequences.

I've known a lot of Sun femmes, like Sun celebrities, that have disappeared after sustaining an abusive relationship, after being bullied in high school, who mourn lost friendships, who yearn for true connection and authenticity when interacting with people. I think Sun femmes can be quite sentimental, living with their battle scars, silently and with grace, waiting for someone to see those scars for what they are rather than a metaphor for something grander. But overall, Sun femmes live the lives they choose to live, they are quietly independent, going against the grain especially when no one is looking. To me, they are an inspiration, not because of their quirky exterior but because of their resilience and the ability to bounce back, to choose themselves every time over what others expect of them. I admire their security in their identity and self, something that I can't say I've ever experienced on that level (to the point of taking the consequences of standing up for one's self without even flinching). That takes courage, that takes smiling even when no one else has the balls to.

Yayyyyy!!!! I'm so glad I got through the Madonna trilogy!! I love all of my Madonna girls, you guys are awesome!! I can't wait to start on the Whore 😈😈😈😈 lmaoo This is so much fun, I love dissecting everyone hehehehe Thank you guys again for all of your support, I had no idea people would relate so much!! But I'm glad you guys can find something in my ramblings lol It might be a while until I post the next trilogy cuz I've been pretty busy but I'll try to get it out soon!

I'm so excited to talk about Mercury nakshatras because my Moon is in Ashlesha and every since I started learning about Vedic Astrology and read up on Ashlesha, I knew I had found something that finally explained everything I had every been wondering about that western astrology couldn't answer.

So, I'm super excited for this one and hopefully I don't ramble too much about it so that it becomes insufferable to read - but let's get into it!

Okayyyy, so...

MERCURY - THE TEMPTRESS

(Ashlesha, Jyestha & Revati)

I want to first talk about why I believe there are different sub-types to each umbrella Archetype further. I mentioned in my intro to this series that it's mainly because women and femmes are complex human beings that aren't going to fit the mold exactly every time especially with such a limited binary (just like everything else in life :/). But I also think when you go down the list of the 9 different archetypes, you start to comb out this story of how the umbrella archetypes (and really women as a whole) evolve.

I want to put this cheat sheet or guide on the characteristics of the three major archetypes up again to point out my choice to reference the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone or the Triple Goddess.

If you're unfamiliar, The Triple Goddess recalls the stages that a woman goes through in her life (yes sometimes it can be taken literally, in that some women or femmes will become mothers and we all become crones in old age as we gain wisdom from just breathing, but), it's mostly meant to be metaphorical. When we're young maidens, our fate is mostly left up to those around us as society tries to dictate how we are supposed to perform femininity, matriarchal figures in the home tend to prime us for receiving the male in his uninhibited state (because why should he have to make himself more presentable) in the softest and most forgiving way possible so that she doesn't become frightened by her "womanly" duties when it's her turn. Speaking on the journey young femmes go through to discover their femininity and how they define it within themselves.

The mother, takes on the responsibility of raising the home, not just her children but her husband, her elders and his elders and is tasked with conjuring love, spirituality, intellect and everything else that society expects out of thin air. Her journey is to reconcile the idea of what she thinks femininity should be with what the patriarchy demands it to be. But the farther along she goes in her journey the easier it is for her to alchemize her desires.

Then the crone, in her wise old age, is forced to let the younger generations take the reins, only allowed to impart whatever wisdom she can that isn't too offensive or honest for making the mistake of scaring the youth in the wrong direction can be detrimental. The crone must watch as the empire she built crumbles and starts again with a new maiden. The crone is to make peace with all that she's faced and answer when she is called, she must accept that things change.

There's so much to read up on about this cycle of life, these stages of womanhood, and I don't even think I did it justice describing it here. The Triple Goddess in particular (a symbol of a crescent moon on either side of a full moon) is meant to signify the merging of all three stages or archetype to embody the Devine Feminine and I think that concept is very relevant in the occult in general but specifically this conversation because the Madonna-Whore Complex is very tied to men's idea of what is truly feminine. Misogyny is so deeply ingrained in society, that even the small part of the world where women and femmes "dominate" and lead the way in, are all rooted in the patriarchy.

Don't get me wrong, I love astrology, I love the idea of the Devine Feminine, I love having a symbol & metaphor for how it feels to be a woman in the world, but it's all based off of this general sentiment from men, that women are inherently lacking cosmic significance (Abrahamic religion worshiping a male god as the one and only when men don't even have wombs, or women being called witches for having prophetic dreams and hearing God, but men considered messiahs for the same thing). This idea that there is this "Devine" (superior) way of being a woman that doesn't exist on earth and we must strive to is bullshit. It's stupid and misogynistic.

So getting back on track, what the hell does that have to do with anything? Why bring it up, why am I even writing this blog if I think that astrology, the occult and any other "pseudoscience" is bullshit? First of all, I don't think astrology or the occult or any other "pseudoscience" are all bullshit. Tarot dates back to the ancient Egyptians, astrology as we know it today first started in India with Vedic astrology and the earliest known form of astrology started in Mesopotamia. Many cultures all over the world practice what we in the west would consider "witchcraft" to help heal people (find real medical diagnostics, ease people's minds from grief and trauma or find solutions to external problems that no one else has the answer to). Asia and Latin America in particular practice a lot of holistic approaches to medicine and they've been working for centuries without any chemical interference. So, I don't think it's bullshit. I don't think all of it has it's roots in misogyny.

Second of all, there's nothing wrong with reclaiming meaning where it has once been lost. History is incredibly important to progress. How can you move forward without remembering where you came from? There's nothing wrong with educating people on the truth behind their words and actions.

And that's where Mercury comes in. As I said in pt2, the Sun, Moon and Mercury are the three most personal planets (not including the ASC - technically not a planet) in a person's chart. The Sun and Moon are ego and emotion respectively, having a huge influence on how we perceive the world and how the world receives us right back, but Mercury was consciousness. Mercury is the meeting of two worlds, Mercury sees itself (ego) and it sees you (emotion) but it also sees you looking at it (conscious).

If we go back to the whole stages of womanhood, and compare that to all of the Archetypes, we see the evolution of a girl into a woman and we see within each sup-type how she gets from one stage to another. I asked at the end of my Moon dom femmes post "what happens when the perfect girl isn't so perfect?" The transition from Moon to Mercury from the Girlfriend to the Temptress is a very subtle shift in - what? Consciousness.

This isn't to say that Moon women/ femmes aren't aware of their circumstances, I think I made it very clear in my last post, that a lot of Moon women are very aware of how people perceive them, can use that to their advantage and are often extremely vocal about the issues they face under the patriarchy. The kind of consciousness I'm talking about is the shift in understanding how they can change their circumstances.

If you look at all of the Mercury Nakshatras, they are all at the end of what is called Gandata which is the karmic intersection where cycles are completed and change is ushered in with Ketu, but we'll get to that wayyy later lol

I want to emphasize again, this isn't to say that Moon women have zero control over their lives, like I said many, many Moon femmes have very much a lot of control over their lives, in fact in some ways I think more so than Mercury. Looking at the guide, the Madonna overall is characterized as having majority of her control over her sense of self but lacks experience to have control over the outside world. So when this shift in consciousness occurs, when the Madonna gets tired of hearing how perfect she is without really seeing any concrete evidence that people genuinely believe this is true (ie. what about me is so perfect, so much better than Suzy Jo over there?), this is where we get Mercury - the Temptress.

See Mercury's mind is incredibly restless, they're curious, they crave exploration, but for whatever karmic reason (dependent on which Gandata they sit at), they keep getting pulled back in to tie up any loose ends or first must gain the experience to truly run free. So they poke and they prod, they see what they can get away with and usually it's not in a malicious way like a lot of Vedic astrologers and Mercury slanderers would like you to believe, usually it's because they are incredibly under-stimulated and are dying to break out of their mental prisons (they are right there on the precipice of big change after all).

The patriarchy finds this very interesting. She looks so sweet and yet there's something about her that feels "wild" or "untamed". Sometimes, if Mercury gets bored enough and picks up on this, she will pull up a chair and play the game.

Mercury loves games. Games are mentally stimulating, they have risks, they have consequences, you learn and gain experience from games.... Unfortunately, half of the time, people don't know Mercury is playing a game. To everyone else, that's a man's heart you're toying with! To everyone else, Mercury's the biggest bitch in the room because "she knows what she's doing" But, is that such a crime?

Mercury femmes sit on this very fine line (due to embodying both the Madonna and the Whore) where no matter what she does, she's wrong. Mercury femmes I've noticed in particular usually have a lot of people feel extremely possessive over their bodies (Marilyn Monroe [Ashlesha ASC], Jodie Foster [Jyestha ASC], Amber Rose [Revati ASC], Amanda Bynes [Revati Sun], Megan Fox [Ashlesha Moon], Hailee Steinfeld [Jyestha Sun]. The List could go on and on, there's so many Mercury femmes who's bodies are treated like property, even myself, my ex, who I had to get a restraining order on at one point because of how violent he was, said, "I can touch you how ever I want, I own you") and as long as they play the docile little mouse, everyone is happy but the minute the speak out (obviously, it's Mercury) people turn on them and try to burn them at the stake ( Rose McGowan [Jyestha Moon], Megan Fox [Ashlesha Moon], Barbie Ferreira [Jyestha Sun & Revati ASC] and the list goes on...).

I really debated putting Mercury in the physical and emotional whore Archetype because of how much they get treated like societal pariahs (that just feels very pure Whore coded) but when I really think about it, I feel like they get the most flack because they sit on that line, infuriating people who can't get past their internalized misogyny and chastise Mercury for attempting to explore other forms of being feminine.

This is also why I want to reject the "Divine" Feminine and embrace the "Divine Feminine". Femininity is inherently divine, there's no one way to be feminine (therefore no one way to be divine), to be divine is to be feminine and to be feminine is divine and I think that is a very important lesson that Mercury teaches us as we evolve and progress through each major archetype, especially through the Madonna.

The Madonna is so idolized that it's almost always impossible to see her as a real human being. We need Mercury to tempt us (society but also other femmes) into questioning things deeper, we need her to expose the fallacies of the patriarchy and tease forth the idea that there is so much more out there to explore and experience. To live life!

Kind of a segue into the last pt for the Madonna sequence in the next post, but I find it really interesting that Clementine from Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, played by Jyestha ASC, Kate Winslet is one of if not the only "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" who feminist media analysts don't consider a true MPDG and she has zero Sun placements (which is the subtype I put Sun femmes under - ik I got it from Claire Nakti but I agree and I will explain why it works with my system lol). I think it's because Clem and Joel have a real relationship, they both have flaws and real reactions to the things going on around her. She has agency, her actions affect the story, not just the main character who is usually the one who ultimately makes the final decision, she is a main character. It's not a story about Joel (well kind of lmao) getting over the relationship, it's about both of them processing the very real human connection they built with each other.

I also think her line, "I'm just a fucked up girl, looking for my own peace of mind" perfectly encapsulates why I don't consider her a MPDG and the struggle that Mercury faces under this Madonna subtype (ironically, Kate Winslet is also a Hasta Sun). Mercury and Clem desperately want to be seen as a real person which is why it is so horrifying when Elijah Wood's character keeps reciting every real memory and experience she had with Joel at her, trying to make her like him.

Where Moon doms are passive in changing how people view them, Mercury is not. Mercury craves to break through, they can't resist the urge to explore especially when everyone around them keeps telling them nice girls just don't do that. So they're forced to unleash chaos showing everyone just exactly what nice girls are capable of.

So! I want to talk the Moon, Mercury & Sun first because I think in order to understand the whole concept of the Madonna-Whore Complex is to first define the Madonna. I also think it's fitting to start with these three planets because they are the three most personal planets (not counting the ASC because it's technically not a planet, it's a theoretical point in the sky) in a native's chart.

I feel like these three planets perfectly encapsulate the different variations of the Madonna Archetype because of how personal they are. The Sun and the Moon being the biggest influence on a person's chart/life (ego and emotion respectively). Then throw in mercury - the way we process information, how we use that information to communicate with the world around us - creates consciousness. You can't function (like you're literally not alive, like breathing kind-of alive) if you are not simultaneously experiencing all three of these at the same time.

And I feel like that is the perfect way to describe the Madonna. She is the "definition" of the purpose of being a live woman (funny enough, Elsa Lanchester, who famously portrayed The Bride of Frankenstein likely has a Hasta Moon [otherwise Uttara Phalguni], who's only reason for existence in the film is for the pleasure of The Monster and Maggie Gyllenhaal who just had her directorial debut, did a movie called The Bride, that is a take on The Bride of Frankenstein, has her Moon in Shravana) under the patriarchy.

In a patriarchal society, we are told as women that it is our life's mission to earn the respect of the patriarchy (men) and we should not and will not be considered "real" women (often times literally being treated as subhuman or dead, sometimes even resulting in death) if we don't strive to cater to their every whim (remember how dozens of women are k*lled every year because they spoke out a little too much about women's rights & autonomy? yea, you can 1000% blame that on the patriarchy's need to stroke their own... egos ;) ).

But in all seriousness, the Madonna's purpose from the standpoint of a femme isn't to be the male fantasy or everything a man demands women to be... because, of course, the irony of it all, is that while the Madonna may be "respected" she isn't desired. This also isn't to say that these women and femmes who have placements in these nakshatras have an innate desire to please the patriarchy as such, at all, and especially not to the detriment of womanhood and the Devine Feminine. In fact, most femmes I know with these placements are some of the most vocal & outspoken about women's rights, autonomy and safety (Rose McGowan, Rohini ASC, Viola Davis Ashlesha Sun, Fiona Apple Uttara Phalguni Sun & Moon).

However, I can't help but notice that a lot of women who fall under the Madonna Archetypes are usually the biggest victims of its mythos. So, let's go through each planet and see how and why this happens (imo/e!):

MOON - THE GIRLFRIEND

(Rohini, Hasta & Shravana)

To me, nothing says Madonna more than the coquettish, fairy-like, vast emotional well of the Moon. Moon femmes have such a unique vibe of feeling far off in a dream while simultaneously present in a way that can sometimes be frightening if you're not prepared. They're always listening and absorbing your perception of them, even if you never intended on letting them know that much about you.

They're incredibly intelligent. Don't let their breathy questions or long pauses fool you, that's not them struggling to have a thought, that's them processing and coming to an absolute and precise conclusion about whatever it is that you said - even about you.

I feel like Moon dominant femmes are the definition of the Madonna due to their incredible talent to rapidly, accurately and poignantly decipher information, so that when it comes to the general public's perception of them, they wield it like a badge of honor.

I've often seen many Moon femmes use their womanly wiles or girlish charm to hypnotize men into giving them everything they want. A lot of Moon femmes I've known, play into the whole innocent "virgin" act just because they know people won't expect such an honest girl to rob them blind (materially and morally).

But, if they're not careful, people start to believe the act (Marilyn Monroe [Rohini Sun] was treated like a dumb blonde her entire life because she played one on screen so well despite being incredibly well-read and had an ever-growing library of some of the most dense books in history).

I'm putting my little cheat sheet for what each Archetype can be defined as for another reference. I want to note how the Madonna is usually characterized as having control over her sense of self but usually doesn't have much control over how other people perceive her (which is why I feel like a lot of Madonna archetypes can be some of the loudest advocates for women's rights). They know who they are, but do you?

Why I feel like Moon femmes fit the "perfect" Madonna archetype (physical & emotional) so well therefore earning the sub-archetype The Girlfriend is because either due to certain features they possess or their mannerisms people assume that they are "innocent", people assume that these femmes are unassuming. Admittedly, a lot of the Moon dominant femmes I've known tend to be kind of quiet, shy or seem like their head is somewhere else when you first meet them, giggling here and there at a passing joke.

Then when you get to know them, after having exposed their latest source of emotional stress, introduced you to their favorite spot to eat that always brings them comfort, sent you some reassuring memes that solidify the friendship as valid - you realize they're incredibly soft and sweet and usually just want to take a nap lol But truly, Moon dominant femmes are incredibly wholesome people and unfortunately to people who are not so pure of heart, that can be a great source of ego inflation.

But for the most part, people pick up on how good in nature Moon femmes are, which is why men of all flavors love Moon femmes. I've never known a Moon dominant that doesn't always have a flutter of suitors or isn't either a serial monogamous, have been in the same serious relationship since they were 19 or got married super young (Angelina Jolie's [Rohini Sun] first marriage was at 21, Bonny Lee Bakley [Rohini Moon] known for having at least ten husbands in her life time, Jenna Marbles [Shravana Moon] was in a serious relationship with Julien Solamita for ten years before they got married. Many women I've known in my life such as my grandma [Shravana Moon] got married four times in her life & got married to her first husband out of high school at 17, a friend from elementary with Shravana Sun that married when she was 20 and a friend with a Hasta Sun that has been with the same guy for eight years and have no plans on getting married [which is totally fine, personally, I'm not a fan of marriage for women but I find it interesting]).

However, sometimes, there is a catch (as I kind of hinted at above) - a lot of times, men and masc people don't want to marry these femmes. They are perfect. They are exactly what every man/masc dreams of... but they just don't see it going long term... NOT ALWAYS!! I very much want to emphasize that there are plenty of Moon doms that are in happy, healthy relationships and that could be you too if you want, like I said at the beginning - this is a generalization from my personal experiences so please do NOT feel that just because I've made this statement that your partner won't propose if you guys have talked about it, you both want it and plan on doing it.

I've noticed that a lot of men/masc get so in their heads with Moon women that they start to feel inferior to her. Sometimes, with certain men 🙄, they don't feel "excited" enough (whatever tf that means), moon women can be very docile in the sense that they're not looking for excitement in a relationship, they're looking for comfort, safety and familiarity. Some morons label that as "boring" but I'm here to tell you, Moon doms are anything but boring. They're internal and a lot of men can't handle that, but I haven't met a single Moon dom femme that is "boring".

Anyway, most of the time, I truly believe that men are just incredibly intimidated by them. They're introspective, they require a partner who is in tune with his emotions enough to provide stability or just take accountability for his own emotions and unfortunately a lot of men aren't up to the task. They're also very intelligent, and you know how much men hate that.

Hence, they tend to end up being The Girlfriend. How does this relate to the Madonna? The pit-fall of the Madonna-Whore complex is that in the land of male insecurity and desperate ploys for authority called the patriarchy, as a woman/femme, you are either respected but not desired or you are desired but not respected...

The Girlfriend is the most respectable position you can hold in the patriarchy. You're the girl that's got his full, undivided attention. You're pure (and this time unfortunately I do mean in a sexual sense) enough to be more than a last night thought in passing but there's still so much potential to see if you're exciting (again, unfortunately, sexually but also in a psycho-sexual way) enough to hold onto.

She's pedestalized, made into a myth, she's a walking, talking fairy-tale. She's perfect to bring home to Mother with those big doe eyes and coy smile. Her politeness is so inoffensive that even a chair would be considered rude if it didn't untuck itself from under the table for her to sit, then tuck itself back in once she's sat.

She is what all other women and femmes should aspire to, according to this invisible handbook on how to be a woman. But what happens when the perfect girl, isn't actually so perfect...?

Feminine Archetypes Through the Planets in Vedic Astrology pt. 1

INTRODUCTION:

First off, I want to say thank you to everyone who reblogged my last post!! I literally never expected anyone to pay attention to my literal late night rambling lmao this really is just for fun, astrology is my biggest hobby and I love dissecting the imagery & symbolism so I really appreciate the support <3 <3

So, I wanted to talk more about my observations on the planets because I feel like the best way to understand astrology is to learn about the planets first! And the more I learn about how the planets function in Vedic astrology the more I feel like I can see a clear pattern and archetype arise for each one and their corespondent signs. I'm gonna have to try do this in the least amount of parts as possible, cuz I don't want to make this too long, but I also love to ramble and I feel like I have a lot to say lmao This is just going to be an intro into what I'm going to get into in later posts, so you don't have to stick around if you don't want to, but it will definitely explain a lot more for the next one lol

I guess, first, I want to talk a little bit about how I created these archetypes. This isn't going based off of any pre-conceived "theories" I guess you would call them (like the queen, the huntress, the sage, cuz wtf do those have to do with anything or the kibbe/essence thing, I do touch on appearance but I don't really want to focus on that right now).

The only theory I heavily based this off of and very much find relevant when talking about feminine archetypes is the Madonna-Whore Complex, first coined by Freud but reclaimed by feminist critics to discuss gender equality & women's rights. I feel like it goes without saying but women are complex just like every other human being on this planet, nothing is black or white and simplifying the feminine experience into two or three traits is absolutely ridiculous. (Also feels like this goes without saying too, but I want to make sure it is stated - my analysis that I'm going to get into in the next couple posts applies to EVERYONE who identifies or presents as feminine. Gender is a construct and if you relate, you relate, if not, that's cool too. This post is meant to discuss femininity as a concept through archetypes or character foundations that have been popular or regularly depicted throughout history, media and personal experiences of cis women but ofc, like I said, if you relate, you relate, if you identify yourself as femme, this post is for you.)

With that out of the way, like I said this is half-based on the Madonna-Whore Complex (spectrum) and the other half is based of the Neopagan Maiden-Mother-Crone stages of womanhood. I also want to be veeeerrrrrrrryyyyy clear - the Madonna-Whore Complex is not used and should not be used as a way to determine attractiveness of a woman or femme presenting person, it also has nothing to do with a woman's actual sexual orientation, level of promiscuity or prudence, interests and identity and it definitely DOES NOT define whether or not a woman is a good person according to the morals and ethics of whatever cis man is in charge at the moment. Men do not define us.

The Madonna-Whore Complex is now widely regarded as a feminist social theory referring and commenting on how women are raised in a male-centered society. It notes that there is a huge, impossible gap between the patriarchy's expectations of a woman and her expression of femininity and the actual embodiment of those expectations. To put the argument simply - men demand that women stay virgins (Madonna) while secretly lusting after a woman with more sexual prowess (Whore) yet simultaneously shame women who express their sexuality freely (Whore) and punish and take advantage of those who adhere/ embody virginal/ sexual "purity" (Madonna).

To put that simpler - women just can't catch a break when it comes to our sexuality. What's most interesting about the Madonna-Whore Complex is the affects of those impossible expectations on how women perceive themselves and the different roles they play trying to navigate those two extremes (which is why I say it's a spectrum. One minute, a woman could fully embody the Madonna which a lot of women feel they do when they are younger, not surprisingly as they are literally in a virginal state, as in pre or en pubescence and find themselves relating more and more to The Whore the older they get, the more sexual experience they accrue, the more they feel comfortable expressing themselves truly, the more "damaged goods" they become in the eyes of the patriarchy. Just think of all the awful names men have for older women [hag, crone, old biddy] and think of how women anxiously respond to process of aging [unnatural and unnecessary cosmetic surgery, life-threatening diets, yk the story]).

The Complex also defines these two opposites not as markers of, as I said above, anything substantial about her character as the very real human being that she is, but more so, again, the role the patriarchy has placed on her. Take for example Audrey Hepburn and Anna Nicole Smith. If you know who these two women are, you know one was considered the pinnacle of grace, elegance and beauty while the other was considered a gold-digger, attention-seeking (literally called a) whore, with zero class or sense of decency.

You'll also note that one of them was very waif, petite, had girlish features her whole life, dressed considerably modestly her whole life as well and was very soft-spoken, was vocal about politics but in a "classy" "European" way and only had two very serious romantic relationships in her whole life. The other was loud, garish, curvy, posed for Playboy, had multiple children out of wedlock and her last partner was a billionaire three times her senior that left her everything in the will (You can speculate why Anna Nicole Smith got involved in that relationship, but you can't deny the country ripped her to shreds after everything was said and done. Why? Because she didn't look like a virgin. She "looked" like a gold-digger, no "respectable" woman would become a reality TV star after her 89 year-old husband passed away "mysteriously" only after a year of being married. She "looks" like trailer trash with her big boobs and juicy couture track suits. Hopefully you're seeing my point lmao).

And what's interesting when you look at these two ladies and their charts, they have vastly different planets ruling their charts (Audrey Hepburn, Rahu Ruled Shatabisha Moon and Anna Nicole Smith ASC & Moon in Mars Ruled Chitra). So, without further ado, let's finallllyyyy dive into some astrology lmaoo

Okay, hopefully that's not super blurry lol but the top photo is a pic of how I determined each archetype for each planet combining physical appearance with behavior/ psychological for a more complete picture of the type of role those nakshatras (based on planet) take on. The three "variants" lmao it sounds so scientific but idk another word for it lmaooo were The Madonna, The Whore and The Mother.

The Mother is my made-up variable that I used as kind of a middle ground between the two extremes (The Whore or The Madonna). I also included a key to describe how exactly I defined all three based on the theory, then The Mother just being a balance of the two. I wanted to explicitly say because I used "the physical" for part of the combo, this is not to say that any or all of these nakshatras look like "whores" or "virgins" or "older" (The Mother). The way that it should be interpreted is if a planet is marked to have a Madonna physical appearance, it's that people, society deems her, purely based on looks, to probably lean more on the Madonna end of the spectrum (The Madonna representing a more modest, complicit personality or impression, The Whore representing a more independent, expressive personality or impression then The Mother a more controlled, secure/ wise personality or impression).

So, for the Madonna physical appearance with a Mother psychological profile, this is a woman who when people first meet think she is passive, modest, pure or "ideal" but when they get to know her, see that she can actually be quite independent yet still incredibly nurturing of her relationships, she has a lot of control in her life (you can see I marked this particular combo as The Manic Pixie Dream Girl for Sun Dominant women). Now, personally, (which I also think is part of the original theory but) I think people kind of take on these roles any way. It's like that "law" that if you tell someone that they're a certain something for long enough they start to believe it and embody it subconsciously. I also think it's totally okay if you resonate with one of these archetypes and feel like that is truly who you are (I certainly relate to mine a lot). This whole post is meant to be kind of a fun hypothetical and these archetypes are absolutely not meant to be mean-spirited, good or bad in any way shape or form, this is purely my opinion, for fun, and just an observation from one person's experience and limited knowledge on Vedic astrology.

Venus is a Mirror

Venus Nakshatras in Vedic Astrology (Bharani, Purva Phalguni & Purva Ashadha)

I'm very new to vedic astrology so I still have A LOT to learn but I wanted to share some thoughts especially on the venus nakshatras as my Sun is in Purva Phalguni and the more I learn about them the more I feel like I have some weight in this conversation lol

For starters, what I know - Venus is considered a "fierce" planet in the sense that it is passionate, forceful and refining - basically its energy is very intense. Its temperment (I think) is considered demonic, which makes sense with the other posts I've seen linking Venus nakshatras to the monstrous feminine (which is so funny cuz all of my favorite horror movies explore this theory and all of the protagonists have Venus nakshatras in their big three!).

I've even noticed that a lot of "weird girls" in movies tend to have venus nakshatras in their big three or are venus dominant (Heather Matarazzo, being named queen of the weird girls likely having a Purva Phalguni moon). And I'm not talking about manic pixie dream girls or the Tim Burton brand of weird girl - I'm talking about the weird girls that make everyone extremely uncomfortable, yet you can't look away (Heather Matarazzo in Welcome to the Dollhouse, May from May, Ginger from Ginger Snaps, Nina from Black Swan).

And I think, from what I've read and from personal experience, Venus is like a pressure cooker, constantly creating friction and tension. All of the venus nakshatras are in fire signs after all (aries, leo & sagittarius). There's always an internal restlessness that other signs have a hard time understanding or wanting to explore because they lack the heat that venus nakshatras internally possess 24/7.

In western astrology, all of the venus nakshatras fall in the earth signs and western astrologers note that earth signs, more than any other elements tend to stick together and I think it's because of that fire that's true to their nature. Air evaporates fairly quickly and can easily be suffocated by fire. Water is too wishy washy and either dries up around fire or completely washes it out. Then earth takes a long time to accomplish what fire desries to do and earth tends to get hurt by fire more often than not. This is not to say that the fire element is better in anyway because fire can be overwhelming, suffocating, fickle and impatient, it's difficult to control fire unless you are trained in it (fun fact steve buscemi who has a Purva Phalguni moon was a firefighter for a long time before he decided to try acting 👀).But, I've also noticed a lot of fire signs stick together, including myself with a lot of my friends and exes for the very reason that it felt like we understood each other's problems with sitting still (more so ketu & venus nakshatras, sun nakshatras tend to have much more relaxed vibe that sometimes makes me nervous lol).

Fire is also incredibly scary, idk if anyone has been around big fires or have gotten severe burns but I've developed a fear of fire because I live by the beach and it's almost tradition to throw bonfires all the time and if that fire gets out of control, its taking everything with it (I also know a lot of male venus nakshatra natives that are fascinated with fire, one I knew in high school had lost his fingerprints on one of his hands because he was playing with fire as a kid and burnt them off 😳).

But back to venus, I think that fire mixed with the refining nature of venus makes natives who can be incredibly tense and stressed out all the time. Someone who has great drive, ambition and discipline to achieve it but so much so to the point where they get burnt out very easily because they put so much pressure on themselves. Claire Nakti has a great video on Purva Phalguni and Purva Ashadha specifically and how those two nakshatras tend to be the nakshatras you see in films striving for greatness to the point of hurting themselves (such as in whiplash written & directed by a purva ashadha moon i believe and starring jk Simmons a purva ashadha sun and black swan starring purva phalguni moon Natalie portman - who trained so hard during filming that she actually broke her ribs smh but won the oscar lmaoo).

And how this relates to weird girls... and this is my personal opinion, but I think a lot people like to think that they'd do anything to achieve their dreams but from my experience they don't lmaooo. I think a lot of people like the idea more than the practice and that's where I think venus nakshatras, especially women, put people off. Venus is not just looks, it's lifestyle. It's not just beauty, it's art. This is also why I think a lot of "it girls" have venus nakshatras in them because healthy venus energy creates effortlessness, aspiration, luxury that feels relatable (bella hadid, purva phalguni moon, chloe sevigny i believe moon in purva ashadha). But unhealthy venus energy... manifests in a moral superiority at the thought of "truly living the life", being the only one who is truly dedicated to the craft and "hustling".

And while a lot of weird girls in film aren't necessarily hustlers (i feel like that's more so men with heavy unhealthy venus energy), they all still exude this moral superiority of truly embodying whatever they think is the "right" way to live life or in most of these girls' cases, the right way to be feminine, afterall, venus is still a feminine planet (ginger in ginger snaps mocking all the popular girls for being too vapid or may having been bullied for her lazy eye all her life ends up only liking certain parts, literally and figuratively, of people and rejecting them when the rest doesn't match the part she likes).

Women are put under such intense pressure from a young age to be feminine but not too feminine, but definitely not masculine and to be confident but don't be cocky, strive for greatness but only if you have a man wrapped around your arm, that when a woman finally lets herself be herself - she will consume and devour you.

Tying this whole post back to the title, I think venus is a mirror to those who fall through on their word or who claim to want the same level of greatness that venus refines for but don't have the internal heat to maintain discipline for. Much like most of the weird girls in horror, venus women tend to get their lick back after realizing that people are not on the same level as they are. Thats not to say that venus women are better than any other nakshatras because they all have their strengths, but a lot of venus women, because of that internal pressure, that need to refine and perfect, tend excel where others struggle (a lot of venus ruled natives are multi-talented or extremely gifted in their given feild, gene kelly, a man but for the sake of argument lol, was known as one of the best dancers to ever live and he had a purva phalguni rising and purva ashadha moon, meryl streep known as the best actress of all time has a Bharani moon. Many venus dominant women that I've known personally, myself included, excel in all mediums of art and have many different hobbies that they have become experts in over time).

I think this freaks people out lol and this truly isn't a brag, because personally I feel like I've been punished more for my talents growing up than I've been rewarded. But even on a deeper, spiritual level, I think venus nakshatra women get labeled as weird girls because they rarely apologize for being talented, for wanting more, for actually trying to make more happen. Bharani is tied to fate, if it's undeniable, it's going to happen. Purva Phalguni's ruling deity is the king of gods, the nakshatra is literally tied to success, luxury and most importantly quality. Purva Ashadha's symbol is the rice sifter, it's made to only let the best through.

Yes, they can be a bit harsh or judgemental about it, only because they want the best for everyone and that kind of passion can be intimidating and even hurtful to someone not ready or not interested in venus' ideals of acceptability. Further, I think it shatters the illusion/fantasy that people like to indulge. For venus, as stated above, it's not a look, it's a lifestyle (this also makes me wonder if a lot of tiktok weird girls who are trying to gatekeep the "weird girl aesthetic" have prominent venus placements, as venus can be quite elitist, stemming from that need to refine, keep the quality in tact, but also feeling protective over the lifestyle they've created for themselves as a way to cope from years of being called weird in a derogatory way).

I think a lot of venus women tend to get projected onto, and they end up living completely different lives than what they truly desire for themselves for a long time before realizing that they no longer recognize themselves (from personal experience, I feel like I lived in my ashlesha moon for a reaallllyyy long time, trying to convince myself that that's who I was, when really that was just the story that people who rejected me placed on me. Once I started to go back to my roots, get back in touch with my Sun sign nakshatra, I felt so much more like myself, I looked like myself again).

And when these venus women are done performing the fantasy that you want them to live they become a mirror to the side of you that struggles to embody what you truly desire, which is also where I feel like the monstrous feminine comes in as well. Enticing you with its riches and sensuality, only to consume you and shit you out into a rotten pile of waste.

I like how someone made the comparison to Dorian Grey (who incidentally was written by purva phalguni moon or rising Oscar Wilde). The portrait literally decays the longer Dorian keeps up the illusion of moral superiority simply because of his beauty and wealth/privilege. But once the illusion is shattered, Dorian is revealed to be what truly lies beneath the surface - a monster.
