I’m currently 100-ish pages into a 1000+ page book dark fantasy. Is that going to stop me from starting a contemporary romance that is giving Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce vibes? Not at all. I should probably continue the fantasy but my brain really wants something not as dark and that isn’t either a thriller/mystery or fantasy.
Ahem. I am sorry for the impromptu hiatus. I would like to return but with a caveat of being mostly mobile for replies. I kind of want to start all new threads. If you all still will have me please let me know in some way?
Buffy looked at the other and nodded. “Too quiet,” she muttered so only the two of them heard. Her blue eyes scanned the surrounding area as she listened and waited for any sign of what was coming.
Huor shivered because he did not like all this silence that had surrounded them that moment. He wished he could break that silence but he did not want to attract attention upon them.
Buffy’s eyes glanced to the right quickly when she heart the snap of a branch and looked at Huor. “This way,” she admitted quietly, so only he would hear, handing him one of the wooden steaks and keeping Mr. Pointy for herself.
Huor wondered who she was. "Who are you, my lady?" he asked, wondering why her voice was so familiar. He doubted that they had met before, but it was weird that her voice sounded so familiar. "My name is Huor."
“Oh you’re far too formal for me. I’m not a lady. I’m just Buffy,” she smiled. “It’s nice ti meet you Huor. Just stick with me so we can keep you safe from the vampires and demons that might try and hurt you.”
Chrissy couldn’t help but envy that Kirby’s parents were never home but she didn’t let it show. If she could get away from her parents for longer than a night or two she couldn’t imagine how peaceful that would be for her but she didn’t focus on it. Instead she took a bite of her own burger and thought for a long moment. “What are going to watch?” She asked as a way to change the subject.
"I was thinking rom com. Something to just laugh and go aww about. The last thing we need is something to churn the stomach." Kirby jokes before getting up to put on a new movie. She presses play before sitting down to eat. "I can get you some extra water if you need it just say so."
“Oo yes! I love rom coms!” Chrissy smiled as she did a little dance as she sipped her drink and ate a fry. “No, I don’t want to have that. Okay thank you!” She was just happy. Happy to be with her friend and WY from her parents. She didn’t want to dwell on her home life and parents.
“Sometimes we just need someone to push us out of our comfort zone,” Delilah admits with a smile. “And sometimes we just need someone to help us be brave.” It was how she saw it at any rate. She took the show in and then smiled when he got a call and nodded, giving him a thumbs up in return then moved to find some paper plates and napkins and something to drink for each of them, wanting to be useful and hoping she wasn’t overstepping.
"Yeah I know it's for the best but sometimes I just would rather do anything else. It's hard to get out of your comfort zone... to make yourself do the social thing. At least- it is for me. I have never been the most social person I'm a bit awkward... or a lot awkward." He rubs the back of his neck and smiles sheepishly "I am trying though bit by bit sometimes small stuff sometimes bigger stuff."
“It’s okay to be in your comfort zone as well,” Delilah smiled gently. She wasn’t going to judge anyone for what they preferred. “You’re doing amazing, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise,” she smiled gently. “We can just have some down time because let’s face it we probably need it,” she admitted.
