Seinfeld ā 9.19: The Maid
do it grieving
do it while the ground falls out from under you; do it while everything you loved goes up in smoke; do it while the dream of your future is still burning embers around you; build anew on the hot ashes of everything you worked for; keep going, keep loving, keep living, even as all you want is to turn back (there is no turning back; it is gone already); do it through grief, which feels like fear in the body
do it grieving
The tag I have seen most often on this post is "I needed to hear this," and I am so, so grateful to have said something that was needed. These words came out of the depths of my own grief, and I am so grateful to have made this small connection with others in the midst of it. Grief is isolating and indescribable, but none of us are alone.
That said, these tags were what I needed to hear:
we're all gonna make it
it's okay if you can't see how yet. you don't have to believe in better. for now it is enough to just keep going, and eventually the path will emerge. you are not alone. you are not lost in the woods forever. keep going. I love you.
Send me to Mars with party supplies before next august 5th
No guys you donāt understand.
The soil testing equipment on Curiosity makes a buzzing noise and the pitch of the noise changes depending on what part of an experiment Curiosity is performing, this is the way Curiosity sings to itself.
So some of the finest minds currently alive decided to take incredibly expensive important scientific equipment and mess with it until they worked out how to move in just the right way to sing Happy Birthday, then someone made a cake on Curiosityās birthday and took it into Mission control so that a room full of brilliant scientists and engineers could throw a birthday party for a non-autonomous robot 225 million kilometres away and listen to it sing the first ever song sung on Mars*, which was Happy Birthday.
This isnāt a sad story, this a happy story about the ridiculousness of humans and the way we love things. We built a little robot and called it Curiosity and flung it into the star to go and explore places we canāt get to because itās name is in our nature and then just because we could, we taught it how to sing.
Thatās not sad, thatās awesome.
*this is different from the first song ever played on mars (Reach For The Stars by Will.I.Am) which happened the year before, singing is different from playing
This is humanity
Happy Birthday, Curiousity.
Happy birthday, Curiosity.
Happy birthday, Curiosity.
Happy birthday, Curiosity!
Happy birthday, Curiosity!š
Happy Birthday, Curiosity
The rover is still operational, and as of August 4, 2026, Curiosity has been active on Mars for 4974 sols (5111 total days; 13 years, 363 days) since its landing (see current status). Via Wikipedia

having free control over our endrocrine systems and the ability to change our genitals is currently inextricably tied to trans rights, and for good reason, but frankly i don't think it even needs to be. it should just be a matter of bodily autonomy, and that should be universal. if a cis dude wants tits and a pussy i think that would be fine. if cis women want a dick or nothing at all that should be allowed i think. people shouldn't need to be transgender to be allowed to change their bodies. free the nipple, enlarge the nipple, remove the nipple. whatever the fuck you want. i dont know if there's a term for this belief but i hold it very strongly. everybody biohack yourselves NOW
Participants of the Altai Eagle Festival in Mongolia,Ā Vlad Sokolovsky.
I usually imagine Huan as like, slightly bigger than a normal dog, around the size of a pony or small horse, but I also adore the idea that he was absolutely unreasonably gigantic, especially if Celegorm got him while he was still young.
Imagine Nerdanel seeing small Celegorm coming home for dinner, and he has twigs in his hair and mud on his clothes a the biggest smile on his face, and he excitedly tells her "Ammƫ, Oromƫ has gifted me a dog, you have to come see!" And Nerdanel is like "thats nice honey", not really paying all that much attention because kids say alot of strange things and there is a 90% chance that Celegorm has just adopted a raccoon or something, but she follows him outside and there's just this giant mountain of a dog. Like he genuinely won't even fit in the house. And with great horror it dawns upon her that not only do they now have to take care of a sacred but very dangerous animal that could easily swallow her son whole, not only do they somehow have to feed this thing, no, the worst thing is: he's still only a puppy.
Wait hang on... was I traumatized as a teenager? *thinks about it for a bit* Well I can't remember anything traumatic so it's probably fine.
HEY
[ID: Tag reading, "*voice different from mine in the back of my head* I CAN!!!!!!!" End ID.]

wanna spread some positivity so reblog this from the previous person if you love them being themselves and wouldnāt have it any other way
Fanfic writers, reblog if youāre okay with people sharing the links to your fics to their friends and/or for fic rec posts without having to ask for your permission first
(I saw a debate about whether or not it was okay for people to share fic links around without asking the authors first, since some authors may not be comfortable with the links to their fics being shared around on twitter or tumblr. so I thought this post could be a blanket permission for authors who were okay with the links to their fics being shared around!)
Are you kidding me? (Rhetorical.)
For goodness sake, rec the fics. Rec them on Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Bluesky, Instagram, Snapchat, Discord, or the reanimated corpse of MySpace. Rec them on Pinterest. Rec them by semaphore, smoke signal, or Morse code. Rec them via a page ripped out of a college-ruled notebook and folded into a tiny triangle and flicked across a classroom while the teacher is looking in the other direction. Heck, rec them on Slack, Teams, email, text, postal mail, or a message scratched with a long stick into snow, sand, or dirt. Just rec the fics.
It should be noted that they blocked it because of animal rights and not human rights. They were more concerned about the crocodiles than the Palestinians they are torturing.
This was supposed to be a one paragraph scene I wrote during my lunch break and it turned into an entire chapter. So enjoy a new Dracula AU chapter, I guess. š
